Tropical Tan

They overcharged my card multiple times and even after my account was closed. They would only offer me a store credit (which what’s the point of that the account is closed) no notice of warning that there would be further draws after closing it down and they are not accredited with the BBB I would not and will not be coming back to this place. There are a lot less expensive, equally friendly staffed tannin locations everywhere don’t go to tropical tan

This is the best tanning salon I’ve ever been to. I’ve been to both the Ballard and North Seattle locations, they don’t compare. I’ve tried all of their services redlight/​ultra tanning/​formostar and the beds are always clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. Especially Aimee (I want to say her name is). They’re not pushy with sales, but any time I’ve purchased product from this location they’ve been ready to help, asking me plenty of questions to find the right fit for me.
I actually just moved to another state and I am very sad knowing I won’t be able to find another location with the same quality and affordability! Thank you ladies!

This is the fourth Tropical Tan location I’ve visited. I happened to be in Shoreline and decided to stop in. It fulfilled its purpose (tanning me), but the bed I used actually was missing the fan controls to turn on/​operate the fan in the bed, so it was quite literally a hot mess up in there. Yuck. I’m glad there are other TT locations…

I just found this place and it is now my place to go for tanning and Redlight Therapy! The owner is so passionate and knowledgeable about all the services they offer. The staff is friendly and well informed. I love friendly and happy staff members! I am so glad I found this place!

I am surprised to see a one star rating. Yea they may not be the most professional, but it’s a tanning salon! Most of them are friendly. I can almost always get a bed. & the issue with the bulbs seems odd! I always see the owner, Dan I believe, replacing bulbs, fixing, beds, and checking in on one of his many salons. I am guessing that maybe the reviewer that only gave one star used the old bed that was left over from Midnight Sun before they knew the poor quality.
I appreciate that they never use the sale tactics to make me spend money, well for the most part. I used to work at Desert Sun a few years back and I know the shady things they do to make a sale. This place doesn’t do that. The only thing I can’t stand is how some will talk about beds, bulbs, % of UVA/​UVB, and other things about tanning that they have no idea about. This hasn’t happened recently and I havn’t seen the girl that I am thinking of in awhile. I am tan certified, meaning I took a class for a certification in tanning so when someone tells me BS it bugs me. So my opinion is probably swayed by that along. The manager is knowledgable & super friendly, but a few of the youngins have made comments about tanning that made me shake my head. Take the Course! Educate yourself before you comment. Just reading the backs of the bottles of lotion and the info on the counter will help you immensley (sp?).
Overall they are clean, get me in a bed, equiptment works, and have the small town feel I like. All in all, one of the best salons I have been to.

I love this pace. I can always get in as a walk in. The beds are clean and well maintained. Rooms are comfortable and I appreciate that they provide eye protection if you forget your own. I always get a good tan but what I like the most is the lack of attitude that seems to be the norm in most tanning salons I’ve visited. The employees here are always nice, professional and helpful and don’t make you feel like you’re bothering them by showing up. Thank you for that ladies. Nice for a change!
They also have a wide variety of options as far as bed pressure, standing, spray tans and red light therapy.

Total tan salon virgin, preparing for Hawaii in January and decided to try the highest rated tan salon here on Unilocal.I have not been let down on a clean and comfortable environment, as well as the women at the salon looking healthy instead of cheetos tone skin trying to sell more rays than you imagine. No pressure with any sales or bait and switch gimmicks as far as I can tell (first time I’ve ever used a tan salon). After one week of tanning, I’m seeing a nice gentle difference and I can also tell that my mood is upbeat when I usually start getting in those «dark days low» that NW folks seem to suffer. This is a thumb’s up on my first experience and very happy I have indulged.
