Desert Sun Tan – Shoreline

Really freaking awesome! Grrrr!!!

I called the other day to ask what kind of specials they were running. The girl who answered the phone said in a rude voice «We are running lots of specials. You can come in and I can tell you about them.» The whole point of me calling was to hear about the specials before coming in and wasting my time. Definitely not a good way to make sales.

So, I used to travel down from Canada weekly and got a membership at this salon. My cc was to be billed monthly. The situation changed and I called to ask them to cancel my membership because I would not be traveling down and the girl I spoke to said that yes she would cancel it and nothing else needed to be done. I tanned here 2 times I believe but no more than 2 times. they can see it on their computer.
My husband was checking my cc bill one day and asked me why I was being charged for tanning for 6 months since I had not been there. I called Desert Sun and asked why they were charging my card still and they told me they didn’t know, things changed in August, go in and sign a paper telling them it was ok to cancel and they would explain to the manager what happened and she would call me and I would get reimbursed because they seen I had not been there.
It is now December 14, NO ONE has called me, no one has reimbursed me, and no one answers the phone. I have left several messages for the manager to call me.
I really am not writing a review to necessarily bitch about the salon, service, etc. I just want a call back and my money back and I am hoping maybe the manager will see this and do her job and call.

I have been going to Desert Sun salons for five years, I’ll never switch over to their competitors because I have always had the best experience with them. This location used to be great up until about two months ago when they changed ownership. None of the staff is friendly or professional, going in there is like nails on a chalk board. I pay monthly for unlimited tanning in medium beds and I purchased upgrades for supers. The old owners took the only 12 minute super when they left, and the new girls informed me that they will not be getting a new one! The only other option is a 22 minute super, nobody has time for that. So I can either find a new Desert Sun out of my way to avoid bad customer service and actually get what I’m paying for, or I can keep going to Shoreline and they will not refund my upgraded supers and I will still the rude girls… Desert Sun you have finally failed me.

After a couple of bad experiences (Olympia and University Place) I stopped using Desert Sun but I figured it’s been a few years and trying another location couldn’t hurt.
This location is great! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and don’t push you into getting a whole bunch of stuff you don’t need.
Keep up the good work ladies!

This location by far is my favorite!!!
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Friendly, helpful service and I almost always get in promptly. The staff is so well managed that I have the confidence to never make an appointment to get in because they always accomodate me. They don’t rush you to get in and out, which makes a big difference to me because I am not one to be hustled.
PRICES
The prices are great, the staff is knowledgeable and I feel like the employees are eager to help or remdey any situation that may occur. I have a monthly package and go once a week, sometimes more if I expect to travel to a sunny location.
EQUIPMENT
It’s amazing how many beds are in this location! From the outside it looks small, but it’s not. A great feature about this particular store is that they have the stand up tanning unit, so it’s perfect for germ-​a-​phobes like me! Equipment is well maintained and I’ve never experienced a bulb that is burnt out or flickering. Facilities are clean, even to my standards!

I normally don’t take time to write reviews but…
AVOID desert sun. I had purchased 2 spray tans at a different location. I called this location the day before to make sure I had one available to use and made an appointment. However, when I arrived they told me I had to use it at the location of purchase but if I wanted… I could buy another! But that’s all they would do… call me old fashioned, but I think once you buy something, you should be able to use it. They totally wasted my time
Though the staff were friendly, they were totally useless. DON’T GO!

I have been coming to this salon for some time now. Usually I buy some type of unlimited package. Few months ago they had a great special for 3 months of unlimited tanning, and I bought it. Maybe a week later I had been put on bed rest and then had to have surgery. I was bummed my package was going to waste. When I came back in finally able to tan the girls suggested that I send an email to corporate explaining my situation, so I did. Someone from Desert Sun contacted me and was willing to work with me to extend my package so it was not a total loss. The customer service is absolutely amazing. I could not be happier.
The girls at this location are always friendly and the beds are ALWAYS clean.

I work next door to Desert Sun and often enjoy gawking at the people that go in and out of it all day long. I finally went in to inquire about their tanning packages and was really pleasantly surprised by how friendly and knowledgeable the staff was. They helped me choose which tanning options were right for my skin type, took the time to show me and explain to me all of the different beds, and really helped me make the best decision about what i wanted. I’ve been going here regularly for a couple months now and I’m still really happy with the service. The facility is clean, and really nice looking and the beds are great. There are always people tanning so your best bet is to call ahead and make an appointment. If you want to do a walk in the best time of day is early afternoon. There has only been a couple occasions where I had to wait for my bed after making an appointment and each time I recieved a free mystic tan for having to wait. The girls (and guy) that work there are really nice and always take the time to answer any questions I have. One of the managers (I think her name is Amanda?) is really helpful and knows everything about every service and product they sell.
