The tortilla soup and corn bread is amazing. It one of my favorite things ever. Been coming here for 30 years. It’s quiet and I always get a table. I really like it.

Decent place with nice staff and tasty food, I had a custom omelette with turkey sausage, Swiss cheese and chili and it was really good. It came with your choice of muffin, toast, etc. I had the blueberry muffin and that came with a blended butter with cinnamon, quite the tasty add on that put that over the top. They look like they make some great deserts and I will have to come back and try some of those. All of the breakfast entrees we ordered were great and you get a good size portion for the cost.

Love this place. I love coming here for pies! There are a few locations but this one is my favorite one! I like stopping by and picking up pies to go. They have that homemade taste that you can’t find anywhere else. Definitely try their strawberry pie!

I can’t see how this place has anything but 5 star reviews. I have been here probably 100 times and have never been disappointed. Great food, reasonable prices, outstanding service. This place rocks! I recommend the crispy chicken salad, but everything I’ve had here including breakfast(Four ‘N 20 omelet) is superb.

Service was meh. Pie wasn’t good. There was way too much corn starch as filler in the cream pie. The food was average. Prices are too high for the quality.

Really good food but very pricey for what it is. Breakfast just for me cost like $ 22 — just for very basic breakfast items without any gourmet appeal. Good but for the price you could do better.

Was so hungry, I forgot to take pictures. Great family place to eat. Food is wonderful, you must try the roast beef! It’s very delicious.

Another stop after a late night game, but I’ve been here before. This is your traditional diner in the neighborhood that you can count on for the tried and true meals to be available. I have come a few times for Sunday breakfast/brunch after church and have had no complaints! This time, I stopped in for a late night meal(week night 9 pm). The atmosphere is spacious, nice and clean. The wait staff were friendly and accommodating to our needs(we had my 2 yr old, and 3 teens with us). They gave extra chocolate syrup and whipped cream on the chocolate milk(good or bad… you decide). I ordered the chicken parmigiana. I wasn’t too impressed, but in their defense it is not an Italian restaurant, so I gave them 4 starts. It wasn’t bad, but it was sustenance enough for a late night meal and sufficed for avoiding a drive thru. The soup was delicious and the salad was good also. Everyone with me enjoyed the meal. I enjoyed the company and the atmosphere to enjoy a special night with family. We took an order to go and they timed it perfectly so we were able to walk out with a fresh meal in hand. I would definitely go again when in the neighborhood.

The strawberry pie sucked and the service sucked. Strawberry pie had syrupy filling, the sign that it was not homemade; the crust was not homemade either. Service sucked. Our waiter walked out before giving us the check, leaving us to wonder where he went. Like the name suggests, he was probably looking to get blazed. Won’t be coming back here ever again

Relaxed atmosphere– old and new sports paraphernalia don the walls. Mostly booths– comfortable for a very casual diner meal. Black bean burger with side of yummy soup! Too full for a slice of pie, going to get pie first next time. Heard its one of those great old family owned diners with great pie… A disappearing mainstay in LA area. This one has been around for over 30 decades. There’s something about longevity in this fast paced LA area where restaurant fronts can change three times in a year… Friendly service. Saw quite a few just picking up take out. Hope this place stays around for another few decades.

This review is for the Van Nuys Blvd. location. Four N 20 is the best in café/diner fare. Why? Because it is consistently good food… every time, all the time… good food… my favs and litmus test foods are Tuna Melts, Cobb Salads and omelets. Hubby’s are same plus corned beef hash and eggs. Great service and the feel of the neighborhood’s place to grab a meal and be comfortable.

This place has been around forever! I love it. It’s right across from all those dealerships on Van Nuys. I always hit this spot when I get my car serviced. Convenient and the service is great. You are always guaranteed a good meal. I come for breakfast and get the corned beef hash which is just as good as mom made it. For lunch, I always get the blackened albacore sandwich. It is perfection. Garlic toast griddled with swiss and a flavorful, well seasoned, fresh piece of albacore and two pickles for some zing. I need to go there now!

I discovered this place with a friend, we were driving down Van Nuys Blvd, and saw the sign which stated«Pie of the month Key Lime». I love Key Lime pie so this was a great enticement. But I had lunch with their Blackened Salmon salad. Now I love salmon, this was grilled perfectly, and the portion size was outstanding. My friend had their French Dip which was great as well(she did give me a small bite, thanks Adina!). Then for the dessert, the Key Lime pie. Out of this world. The owner/manager of the place came by during the meal and dessert to check in with us. He so friendly, and to Adina’s delight, he is a Kings fan to boot. The rest of the staff, well they are great people too. Even though we were first timers to this place, Michael(I think that is his name) and the crew made us feel like home. He definitely likes working the room talking to the customers. Also, keep in mind this establishment is down the street from the Courthouse in Van Nuys. So expect to see a lot of LAPD, LASD, CHP, and well dressed hammerheads(oops, sorry guys, I meant attorneys of all stripes). Also aside from the above mentioned clientele are folks from the neighborhood that appear to be frequent diners, who are on a first name basis with the owner, which to me is a great sign. In my visits since, I’ve tried their French Dip, their Blackened Salmon plate, Fish & Chips, Chili and Spaghetti. Their breakfast is excellent as well, having tried their, apple pancakes, got a side of their home fries which were spot on. I also have had their chocolate cream pie which is just beyond description in terms of taste. This place is almost like a sports bar with all of the décor, but thankfully it’s not a sports bar. Just a cool sit down restaurant with an awesome menu, super cool staff and management who make you feel like family. Keep up the great work 4 n 20! PS Love the giant Cholula bottle you have!

Came in for breakfast. Fresh fruit plate was mostly good, except some of the fruit was not ripe enough and should not have been served. I asked for well done hash browns. They were burnt and smelled like rancid oil. Essentially the rest of the meal was good, not great. Unfortunately I was expecting more.

The atmosphere is nice. Quiet and not busy. Service is really good also. But I am disappointed in the food. All 5 of us ordered 5 different dishes and were not happy. Even something as simple as the fries tastes very bland. Wont be back here again. My tummy is not happy.

I have worked next to this place for about 4 years. I can’t count how many times I’ve been here. This became our usual spot. The service here is great! We came so often they knew our orders before ordering. So often when we didn’t order our usual meals they would ask, «No chili on the side today?» That’s the kind service I LOVE. I’m not gonna lie, the food sometimes can be a miss. For example, my wild rice can be a bit hard one day but other days fluffy. However, I can look pass all of that because of the service, I’ve always wanted to be a usual somewhere and they made me feel just that. They are also great for big groups. It was my coworkers birthday & we planned to have her surprise lunch there. We called a couple of hours ahead telling them 15 people were coming.(1 day before would be good too) Since we only had 1 hour of lunch we preordered our food over the phone. When we got there food was brought out not moments after we got there. They got us back to work right on time! Sad to say I no longer work near here but we had a good run 4n20! Suggestions: Chili with onions & cheese with CORNBREAD! Spicy sausage breakfast plate & Regular sausage plate with home fries or wild rice.

I’m glad I finally gave this place a try after driving by it for the last 4 years. I just wish I had walked in 4 years ago; I would have saved myself lots of time looking for places to eat that«hit the spot.» So this place, it has its charms. The décor is well… I felt like I was in an 80’s mobster film, in that scene that every movie has in that restaurant, with the dinner food and stuff. That’s this place to the t, and it works. Four ‘n 20 doesn’t attempt to pass as a 5 star restaurant, it comes across as the neighborhood eatery with amazing food, amazing service, amazing food, amazing pies, amazing food, and amazing food; and did I mention the food, cus that was banging. Alright, enough rambling, here’s the review: Four ‘n 20, a tradition American eatery, with a great breakfast, a great cup of joe,(like really, that coffee was so good!) a very inviting atmosphere, and some of the nicest staff around. Everyone is ready to serve you. The busboys greet you right away, and make you feel at home. The waitress knows how to handle multiply tables at once without seeming like she’s drowning. You can order eggs over easy or over hard, and you actually get them the correct way! I haven’t found a place that knows how to make a good fried egg in ages. How frekin hard is it to make an egg? Well this place can show everyone out there the proper way because they have perfected it. They can write a book on how to make eggs. They can also write a book on how to cook bacon, and French toast, and a damn fine burger. And those fries, wow! I’m getting off topic here so I’m just going to wrap this up. I was very glad I visited this restaurant finally. I left very satisfied, but more importantly I left knowing I had found my new place to eat an great breakfast. Or lunch. Or dinner. Food in general, just food. And pie, that too. You will visit this great restaurant because you deserve it. You deserve to treat yourself to some great food. To treat yourself to great service with a smile, and to let your senses experience what is offered here. You won’t leave disappointed, and I’m sure you’ll go back, just like I will every time I want some good ok comfort food, and actually get the eggs I ordered.
