I learned how to roast my own coffee a little while ago and how different coffee can be depending on the roast, age, and beans. Since then, I’ve been spending less time in Starbucks, and more time exploring other coffee establishments. So, the other day, I wandered into here and was pleasantly surprised. Let me say first off, they make a solid cup of coffee as well as the typical drinks. Couple that with a friendly barista, cool tunes, free Wi-Fi, and you have a winner! Oh, and they have one of those neat brewing contraptions for making cold brew! I will definitely be back, and I recommend you give this place a try too!

Get the farm direct, organic Guatemalan coffee beans, so good! And in love with the hemp milk latte that I can get with my bag of beans for a discounted price $$

Perfectly balanced flavours in their cold brew. Large pastry case with lots of sweet and savoury selections. There were at least two employees working, keeping the wait time down. The staff were competent and polite. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating also. Very happy to have discovered this Café Vita today and this will definitely be my coffee shop when I’m in this neighbourhood!

I don’t know what was cuter: my baristas or my latte art! Came here on a Sunday morning & the line was a bit long, but the baristas were charming and made each customer feel catered to. They even have dog treats for customers with furry friends! The insider seating is a bit cramped, but the HUGE patio out back makes up for it, as well as seating out front. I had a vanilla latte, complete with foam art & a bagel with cream cheese. Selection, quality and price were all pleasing. They sell tons of extras like bagged coffee and French presses and such. So all your needs are covered. The bathroom and café were both exceptionally clean. Props to the baristas for consistently cleaning as they worked, all with a smile on their face. Give those cute skater boys a raise! And the one in the beanie my number ;)

I love this spot and am consistently pleased with my drinks! I recently brought my friend here when she was visiting from out of town. After trying many coffee shops in Seattle, her favorite cappuccino came from here! Even though the ambiance is not catered to families(It’s dim, artsy, and usually includes good music!), our toddler is always greeted pleasantly here. We so appreciate it! It’s become my favorite place for a pick-me-up! Honestly, the baristas are much more friendly here compared to those across the way so it is a no-brainer for us!

I’ve never been disappointed. Their lattes and drip coffees are always perfect, their beans are always fresh, and their service is always friendly and accommodating. This is one of my favorite coffee destinations in Seattle! A must stop if around Phinney.

I really love Vita’s beans but I am not impressed with my recent experience here. It’s very off putting when a barista tries to tell you that the drink you are ordering is not what you’ve been getting for months at multiple other neighborhood coffee shops. Top it off with«we don’t do that here, go to Starbucks.» Bitch, please. At least Starbucks doesn’t treat their customers like they don’t know anything. Skip the Greenwood location and head to Fremont’s Caffe Vita(or Neptune, which is just down the street, in case you are confined to the neighborhood).

I, like everyone else in the Northwest am exposed to Caffe Vita in almost every turn of the road, as they are about as big time Seattle espresso as you can get without being Starbucks. I have always liked the beans overall but I came to this particular location specifically to exploit the fact that on of my favorites Herkimer Coffee is next door. I went in got my doppio at Herkimer then ran next door got the same fix at Vita… bitter, roasty, crispy, almost no crema… Hands dawn Herkimer blows them out of the water!!! Now everything else besides the actual espresso was perfect; the Barista was helpful and friendly and the shop is super cute. they even have my favorite chocolate here! Hopefully Vita will stay small and special instead of trending towards the mainstream they originally ran away from.

Everytime I come in there’s always a friendly staff member. Even if its busy. Great music. Coffee is delicious. I suggest the mocha. Num num num. In the summer the big windows to greenwood are open and it feels like pure bliss. Also has wifi so if u want to study sipping on tastey coffe or a delicious pastry this is your place.

Great little Vita on Phinney Ridge. Was visiting my man, Gary, to get some car servicing done and had an hour to spend while he fixed me up. Opted for Vita’s this visit, instead of my usual spot down the street. Two ladies working, debating the pros and cons of the indie rock music blaring(fairly loud but good tunes so I didn’t mind) and having a good ol’ chat. They were super friendly, stopped talking to help me and had some delicious vegan donut offerings that made me smile, big time. Love me some Mighty-O donuts, and have to support anyone who carries them, so, good job kids. Took my cuppa to the corner, planted my butt and people watched for a bit, more inside than out, Greenwood Ave at 8:30am is a solitary, meditative place, but Vita is the place to be so there was no shortage of visual amusement.

Lots of tasty entrees and fantastic coffee. We ate here our last breakfast in Seattle. It was a referral and I definitely was happy we checked it out. I got falafel and it was so wonderful. I love how it’s set up also. Great wait staff.

I have been a customer here for a while now and have been thinking about what makes this place great, and I have come to the conclusion that it is customer service. I get consistently excellent customer service and in a city like Seattle where even the worst coffee shop is pretty good, that is what keeps me coming back. Allison has a gift for hiring friendly, customer focused, attentive and engaging people that really know what community building is about. As a daily coffee drinker I certainly make the rounds, but Caffe Vita on Phinney is home.

I travel for my job so local coffee shops have become my remote office. I’ve lived in Seattle for 10 months have spent COUNTLESS hours in a local coffee shop next to my house. Each time I walk in they act as if they have never seen me before. Considering that I can spend up to 9 hours sitting in front of the counter working you would assume they would at least remember my face. Café Vita was a different experience! Allison and Angela are the first two barista’s who not only acknowledged that they actually remembered my face, but they also remembered my name after only one visit over a month ago. I actually almost teared up. Seattle can be a pretty cold place, so any kindness is always appreciated. Oh, and the espresso is creamy, nutty, and just plain delicious! I’m definitely a fan of this quaint little location.

So much yes to this fantastic little coffee shop. First of all, the baristas are wonderful. I stumbled in all groggy and half-awake, asked my curly-haired barista what she could make me that maximized espresso content while still giving me a large enough enjoyable drink — and wham-bam, suddenly I have a delicious mocha with caramel and three shots in my hands(and a cute foam-art leaf to boot). That drink plus a fresh bagel and cream cheese was only about $ 7. The interior is definitely cozy, but I didn’t feel crammed at all. Really enjoyed the outdoor patio in the back on this beautiful Seattle day, and there are two little tables out on the front«porch» if you want to people watch. Free wi-fi always gets bonus points! Don’t forget to oogle the chemistry-lab-lookin’ coffee contraptions. Those ladies are up to some serious wizardry while they craft caffeinated goodness. Two thumbs WAY up.

This place has amazing service. It’s a great location. I came in here by accident because Herkimer didn’t have rice milk. The savory pies are so good, too. Its kind of small and narrow… Feels a bit like a pub. Kind of a good place to read or write a book. Not good for meetings with a bunch of people…

Seattle has a plethora of places to get coffee other than the majors so do yourself a favour and check them out, okay? Yes, parking can be tricky and the place is small but it’s a solid place to grab a coffee if you’re in the area. On the particular day that I stopped in, I craved a good iced coffee and was not disappointed. As I waited, I saw they had free Wi-Fi for customers and a decent amount of seating available. I’ve only stopped in the once but the barista was super friendly and there was a lovely bulldog outside waiting for his owner to return. On subsequent visits, I’ve enjoyed one of their small pizzas(courtesy of Via Tribunali, their neighbour) and before a show at the Abbey, I had a calzone and a mocha. It’s never packed, usually a nice bustle. Bathrooms are clean and people-watching is fun.

Dood, Herkimer Coffee just got State-Farmed. «Like a good neighbor… State Farm is there!» «With a new boyfriend.» «With a new girlfriend!» «Oh, so THIS is what you like?» Look we thought Herkimer Coffee with its well-lit airy interior and laid back nabe vibe and great staff was a big plus when we first moved to P. Ridge. But let’s be honest-their hours kinda suck(6pm closing? Really? and cash only, Herkimer? Boo, Shut the Front Door!) «Like a good neighbor… Caffe Vita is there.» With better coffee. And open till 8pm. And takes credit cards. BAM. Yeah, I said it. Its a closet compared to Herkimer two doors down, but Vita is cozy, and my coffee was french pressed to perfection, and they have bagels and wifi(which we might’ve cared about before Eltana ruined us for other bagels. Word is that Vita is about to open a pizza place in the adjoining space). On a day when Herkimer was hopping, we were glad to be able to walk past it and snag an open table about 200 feet away. Caffe Vita, welcome to Phinney-Wood indeed. «So THIS is what you like?» «Well yes it is!» A little competition never hurt anyone. Great place to get some work or reading done, if you like your coffee shop music on the loud side(Metric was blaring when we walked in, and any place rockin’ some Emily Haines is ok in our book). And did we mention just how stoked we are NOT to have to trek all the way to Fremont for a cup of fresh-brewed Vita Theo Blend?(When you think ‘Coffee’ and ‘Seattle’, it’s Vita that that should be on the tip of your tastebuds. And«When you think Tim McGraw…» I hope you think you should find a coffee shop that isn’t selling Taylor Swift – sorry Starbucks. Yo S-bux, I’m really happy for your sell-out cross-marketing and I’mma let you finish, but Vita has been focusing on coffee and they brew the best cup of all time. Of all Time! It’s all good we’re still pissed at Kanye for you, T-Swizzle.) Caffe Vita just threw down, Phinney Ridge-Greenwood style. Step up, Herkimer Coffee… let’s see what you got.
