Alterations Fit 4 U

Rude. I had a blouse that needed to be altered and I had a few ideas about what I’d like. She cut me off mid-​sentence and suggested I check out another tailor in Fremont. Rude rude rude! Not a biggie if it’s a job you can’t do but no need to be obnoxious.

She’s the absolute best! I had some shirts altered for engagement photos and she rushed it done! The top she altered ended up looking way better than the style I purchased it as. Very skilled with redoing garments!

Excellent customer service, excellent quality work and she really is creative and fast. Would give her a 6 star if I could.

Needed my Elvis costume taken in a bit. Found numerous great reviews on Sandy and they were well earned. She is a knowledgeable & experienced seamstress and a super sweet lady as well. Don’t hesitate to take her any of your sewing projects. Price was also more than reasonable

My usual seamstress lady was not available (and she is hard to get hold of) so I decided to try Alterations Fit 4U to shorten my bellydance skirt. I’m happy with the quality of work and price is reasonable. :)

Sandi is awesome. She shortened and hemmed several skirts for me and mended a sweater. All the work was done expertly and at very little cost. She is an expert, personable and efficient!

I’m disappointed. I called Alterations Fit 4 U earlier today to see about having my measurements taken; I’m buying a custom dress from someone out of state (fully aware of the risk) and wanted a professional to take them vs. me doing it myself. She said she would do it but sounded reluctant, I should have trusted my gut and not gone in but I really like supporting businesses in my neighborhood so I gave it a go anyway (hoping it was just a «bad on the phone but great in person» situation).
I walked in and told her my purpose and immediately felt unwelcome. She made comments to me the entire time she was taking my measurements, criticizing the way the items on my list were worded or why they were even requested in the first place. Once complete (it took about 10 minutes) I asked if I could give her anything for her time, she asked for $ 5. I only had a $ 10 bill so I placed it on the table, said thank you, and left. Her closing comment to me included something about «it will be interesting to see how that turns out for you».
I was really hoping to find a trusty seamstress in the neighborhood for anything that I might need done in the future but will not be going back, unfortunately. I debated between 1 and 2 stars. I ultimately got what I needed but due to the poor customer service and the fact that I would not recommend this shop because of it, I have to give it a 1.

I have gone here numerous times over the past few years, and everything has always turned out perfectly. Sandi is a talented seamstress and an all-​around sweet, lovely, interesting person. So glad to have her in the neighborhood!

I called in to figure out what her price ranges would be to do a simple replacement for the lining of the sleeves in my coat. Wow was she unhelpful. She couldn’t even give me a price range for what she has charged in the past.

I had a complicated dress altered here a few months ago and they did a fantastic job and it turned out wonderfully.
Today I went to get a few jackets altered and was greeted by a closed sign. Please post your hours online or at least turn off the name sign when closed — I couldn’t see the hours from my car, spent ages finding parking, carried 4 wool coats to the door, only to be greeted by a locked door with other hours.
They are only open Wednesday — Saturday :/

This was my first time visiting Fit 4 U and I had a great experience! Sandi took the hem up on one of my dresses, took in a skirt, and fixed a couple of blouses that did not fit well. She knew exactly what to do and listened to what I wanted done. All of these alterations only took 1 week and were ready when I went to pick them up. I would definitely recommend seeing Sandi for any alteration needs. She does both women’s and men’s clothing. Reasonable prices as well. The best alteration place I have found in Seattle!

This is my third time going to Fit 4 U and I am super happy with the service. She sewed a bunch of elbow patches on my husband’s shirts, moved some buttons around on a heavy shirt that I couldn’t have done by hand and also changed one of my dresses into a perfect skirt… she even had a great idea for another skirt to make little cuts up the side since it was ripping all the time because it was an awkward tightness… and now the skirt looks even better!
She communicated with me when the job took longer than expected 2 weeks instead of 1 week.
Great attention to detail. Fair pricing… don’t forget that Fit 4 U only takes checks! (old school). I might recommend that you call before you show up to make sure she is there.

Sandi is fabulous! I took a cocktail dress to Fit 4 U, knowing that it didn’t fit right but that it could. Sandi worked with me to evaluate the fit and the options for alterations and the results were perfect. The shop is clean and comfortable, the service friendly and expert. I’ll take all of my future alteration projects to Sandi so she can work her magic on them.

I’ve taken many complicated alterations into Fit 4 U, and they have done a fabulous job. I also appreciate the fun and courteous service.
