These guys are all about the craft. Serious about coffee. Laid back attitude. Yep, I’m a fan.

My favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Super simple and minimal, they just have americanos and several methods of brewed coffee– plus cold brew in the summer! The coffee is consistently good, and the staff are friendly. This isn’t the kind of place that’s really made for sitting around with your coffee in, but they do have some neat relief maps on the wall that I enjoy looking at.

VERY disappointed. So they win a competition, people write up their Ganesha espresso, it gets 94 points… great, so far so good. I go online and order 4 pound to be delivered, $ 55.96, about $ 14 a pound. It’s pretty good, I like it, I tell my friends. I go to order 4 more pounds — and guess what??? Their head got a little too big, a little greedy. They’ve raised their price to $ 18 a pound!!! That’s an increase of 30%. That’s what I call a recipe for losing customers. Very bad and very greedy business decision! Bet you wouldn’t have raised your prices if you hadn’t gotten that review. Well, you’ve just lost what would have been a regular as clockwork customer with 4 pound orders every few weeks. I’m also going to pass the word along to my friends and co-workers to forget about you and we’ll look elsewhere.

The coffee is delicious, however they only have one size and it’s $ 3 for a drip coffee. It might be good speciality coffee but $ 3 is too much.

What a couple of nice guys these are! I had a longish conversation with the counter guy who then introduced me to the driver who brings the coffee down from Bellingham. As others have noted, not a stooty bone in their bodies. They taught me something of great importance: I will never be a coffee connoisseur; I was merely using it as a conduit for my sugar and creamy soy milk! You probably *are* a sleeping connoisseur, just waiting to be awakened. If so, *this* is your place!

Phinneywood needs another coffee joint like a zebra needs another stripe, right? But it turns out we do need another coffee joint… we need Tony’s. That was the finest Americano I’ve had in the ‘hood. Can’t wait to try one of the blind coffee tastings calling a coffee cupping, now on Saturdays at noon. Sounds like a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

The finest purveyor located in the Phinney/Ballard coffee ‘corridor.’ Excellent coffees served fresh from a French press-like method without all the silt of a usual press. The staff are gurus and make the experience very enjoyable. The Friday cupping experience is unique and interesting. All questions coffee answered. Among the group of excellent coffee stops in the easily bikable area(Zoka, Herkimer, Bambino and Ballard Coffee Works) Tony’s is setting a very high bar and could be a capstone to a café crawl.

Stopped in on way into work. You can tell right away that this is a place for coffee lovers without having to deal with any snobbery. The coffee beans on their own would rate at 4 stars but the variety of individual brewing methods(chemex, aeropress, trifecta & clever) and friendly staff make all the difference.

I went to Tony’s at their new location a while back for one of their cuppings. The place itself is a bit small and very inconspicuous since the building blended with the rest of the(residential) neighborhood, so I had to double glance at the building to make sure it was the right place. This was my very first cupping so I had no idea what to expect but the guy running the cupping, along with the other folks in my coffee group explained what is done during a cupping and were very helpful. With that, had a great time trying the different coffees they had available to sample and the guy running the cupping sure knows his coffees! Overall, had a good experience here and possibly go to another cupping again if I’m in the area!
