Second time getting food from Caribbean Spice Roti Shop. An even better experience than the first time. Tried two new items(for us): Doubles and phoulourie. Both excellent. Also had the chicken Dahl Roti wrap. Tasty and just spicy enough. Highly recommend it.

Personally not a huge fan of dhal puri but have to say I loved the ones from here. Great taste And soft! I ordered for a few occasions and had great compliments! I even kept a couple In the freezer and they were soft and didnt taste stale. I had the goat curry also it was ok(doesn’t compare to my moms ;)) portion size could have been a little larger for the price.

Alhumdillah! Finally a Halal restaurant close to home. My husband and I fell in love with this place from the hospitality of the owners alone. Once we tasted the food, we were amazed by the quality and authenticity of the Trinidadian cuisine. We can definitely see ourselves as regular customers.

I stumbled upon this gem on accident because I was unfamiliar with the area. I must say I am glad I found it and will be back. The food and service was absolutely phenomenal. I got the DHALPURI with Beef and also tried a shrimp dish with all the vegetables. It was expensive but it was really worth it the quality was amazing. The service is also wonderful as they were very friendly and informative on what everything was because i was a first timer.

I love going to new places and Unilocal resturants… so we were in the area and found The Roti Shop. We initially hesitated going because we thought it was take out only. And we’re looking for a sitdown restaurant. While they do take out, there was ample seating. It was the best find! And we had no idea what to order. The staff was amazing and guiding us and want to order. We ordered a veggie platter which had pumpkin, spinach, chickpeas, and beans. I had the fried chicken with rice and Trinidad noodles. It’s not your traditional fried chicken it was more of a glaze. My husband and my daughter both had roti(a type of dough). One was chicken and the other was goat. We really could’ve had two meals and split it three ways. There was so much food. The price was amazing. We would absolutely come back again.

Excellent roti shop — we went for lunch and tried chicken and goat with buss ups and dhal puri. Great portion sizes, spicy and well seasoned — just the way I like it. The choices are few but each dish is well made and worth coming back for again.

So far my husband and I have gone to the Roti shop about 6 times. Every time the food has been absolutely amazing. we have ordered the«Bussup Shut» with the boneless chicken and added chickpeas to the order. the chicken is always very tender and flavorful, cooked to perfection, no bad pieces of chewy chicken. We always order extra buss up shut skin roti, because it is always so good and we want more. we have also ordered the beef patties, doubles, phlouries, which were all excellent. somedays they have specials and we ordered jerk chicken which i have been craving since my trip to Jamaica. It was cooked very well and i wished i had more. My husband tried the Shark bake sandwich, it was something new to him so he wasn’t sure what to expect, but he liked it alot. –the restaurant is very clean which is a priority to me. Everybody that works there are very friendly and helpful and always explain stuff clearly if i have any questions about a menu item. The environment is very welcoming, and i will continue to visit it.

I love this place. I’d never eaten Trinidadian food before we first came in, shortly after opening but now we come here often. The food is great and you won’t leave hungry. Everything my wife and I have tried has been excellent and my daughters have both become goat fans. Overall, a very friendly local place with excellent food.

We are forever grateful to this place for opening up in our neighborhood and introducing us to the joys of Trinidadian food. It is the epitome of comfort food to us, remniscent of Indian flavors with a Caribbean twist. We love to get the chicken and potato /beef and potato wrapped in the dhal puri roti skin with all the vegetables(although we’ve never tried the pumpkin yet). The dhal puri roti skin is melt in your mouth delicious and the portions are huge. Aside from the mains on the menu my favorite thing about the Roti Shop is that you can get delicious, homemade and completely filling«snacks»(Trinidadian street food) for only TWODOLLARS each. Whenever I’m looking for a quick bite, I can always count on the doubles, aloo pie, or beef patties to satisfy me and fill me for SOCHEAP! My favorite are the doubles, a chickpea mix between two rotis topped with tamarind sauce and cucumbers(I don’t get them with hot sauce)…YUMSOAMAZING! They’re so good they blow my mind every time. The aloo pie are the best bang for your buck because it is HUGE and delicious too. Beef patties…’nuff said. I’ve never met a beef patty I didn’t love and this one is no exception. Everything has just the right amount of kick without being too spicy, and if you want it spicier you can always ask for hot sauce. The best!

A small, unassuming front on a quiet strip but Unilocal led us to this gem during our shopping trip to watchung. The food was delicious and authentic. The staff(I’m assuming they’re the owners as it seemed like a family joint) were friendly and more than happy to explain the menu and offer suggestions. Most people seemed to be regulars dropping in for carryout but there was plenty of indoor seating and a couple tables outside. The portion size was great for the price(about $ 9-$ 11/person for a plate of food) and we left with happy, full bellies vowing to return.

All homesick Trinis wander no longer! Everything here is excellent and authentic. The potato pies and doubles are amazing. The owners are very kind and make you feel at home. They also have a selection of Trinidadian treats like split channa, solo soda, and red mango.

I adored this place! I would go here all the time with my friend and my boyfriend. Once, I told a coworker from Trinidad about this little shop and I offered to pick him up some goat. After speaking with the owner, she managed to get him a meal that reminded him of home! Staff is so wonderful to talk with, will never even think about kicking you out(as we found out after staying for an hour or so talking after they closed), and the sweetest people you could imagine! I want to take all of my friends here for the delicious food and great service.

Love love love that we can get roti’s in our area! And they’re good! The first time I ever tried a roti was on the island of Saba in the Caribbean and it was a goat roti that was so delicious. So then, when I spotted a coupon for this place in those little coupon books that come in the mail, advertising rotis, I couldn’t believe it and sent my hubby out to get a take/out order. We are fans and ow I have my kids hooked. Now we don’t have to hop on a plane when the craving hits… the wrap, meat and potatoes really hit the spot, especially doused in hot sauce!

The curry chicken with bones was definitely a hit for me! Full of flavor and meat was tender. I also had the goat curry which wasn’t as flavorful and the meat was a little tough. The shrimp and potato roti was delicious as well although one side was dry but the other side was moist, think all the sauce went on one side. I would come back and order from here again!

This is the place to go for authentic Trinidadian cuisine outside of traveling to NY or sweet T&T. They have a full menu — doubles, buss-up, curries and beverages like mauby. This restaurant is very clean and the owners are super friendly. We’ve moved from the area but anytime we’re nearby, we stop in(though we went recently on a Saturday during open hours BUT they were closed. I recommend if you’re driving from a distance, call beforehand).
