I went to a surprise party here. The party room was nice. The service was great and always there when you wanted something. I had the roasted chicken. It was very good. It was a cute place in a cute village.

Been here twice. Both times service, food everything was amazing! I tried their brunch then went back for dinner. I cannot wait to go again. We have tried 7 different dishes off their menu and each one I would crave. I can’t wait to go back again, I want to try everything!

This place has some amazing food. First of all the owner Mike is awesome. He’s a really nice guy, he came by to check on us and chatted with us for a little while and made sure all the food was cooked to our liking. You can see that he really cares about the restaurant and the atmosphere is really nice. The food was incredible both times that We went, not a single complaint and we ordered soups, appetizers and we had a party of 4 each time and the entrees were perfect. I highly recommend this place. They also have a pretty good selection of beers as well which was an added bonus. We will definitely be going back soon! Highly recommend!!!

First of all, Mike if you are listening, Marty should get a raise. He had the bar, which was full, and all of the high tops. Service never suffered. The food, as always, was delicious. We do long for the original breadstick days, but…

Good food reasonable prices but watch out… the sides and drinks add up. Bill was over $ 200 for 3 people.

First time here and I like others came on a Groupon. What a a great little place with excellent food. I wasn’t that hungry and had mussels appetizer. Since the Groupon requires two entrees, my husband had the Steak Frites and my daughter had the Jambalaya and we shared the Rock Shrimp Tempura small plate(appetizer). All were nicely executed. While I prefer my mussels with less lemon and less wine in the broth, that’s a personal preference thing. So, I can’t fault them for that. The mussels were cooked perfectly. Nice portion for a small plate and only a couple of mussels didn’t open. My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The jambalaya was probably my least favorite but it was still very flavorful with the right amount of heat. Someone else might think it was too spicy. Ambiance was very nice and our service was good. There were a lot of other dishes that I’d like to try. Next time because there will be a next time. The Groupon was a good deal.

Service is impeccable at this gem of a restaurant in the heart of sayville. Food is delicious although the desert selections are not that great. I love the risotto and the shrimp appetizers. Why the low rating? The parking is horrendous… I’ve seen people park at the animal clinic across and walk over because of the limited parking. I will probably go back for lunch only

My girlfriend and I had dinner here tonight for the first time. We started with dirty blue martinis and oysters on the half shell. The drinks were made well and the oysters were properly chilled and served with three different condiments. For our main course I had the shrimp and scallops over forbidden rice, the rice was delicious with a texture somewhere between a brown and a white rice. The scallops and shrimp were seared to a perfect doneness and accompanied by a very light sauce. My girlfriend had the seared Ahi Tuna seared to a perfect rare and was accompanied by a delicate sticky rice. For desert we had the crème brûlée and carrot cake bread pudding with cream cheese sorbet. Service was very good and the price for the quality of fare was excellent… we will definitely be returning for a second visit.

We had a great dining experience! We were there a couple of years ago and really liked it, so decided to go back last night. It’s been too long since we were there. From the start, I was impressed with how friendly and personal the owner/manager is, very nice guy that made us feel welcomed. They have 5 or 6 taps, and offered a nice selection of craft beers. I tried a 2XIPA– Sixpoint Resin, and it was fantastic. My wife opted for a very tasty margarita. Our waitress Joelle was attentive and gave us some nice recommendations. We started with the mozzarella ricotta fritters and crab cakes. Both were top notch. Fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection. For our entrees, I went with the duck l’orange special of the night, and my wife had the lamb chops with the rosemary demi. Both were flavorful and delicious. We saved some room for dessert, and shared a chocolate peanut butter sundae. We will be back again, soon.

Great dinner half off with a groupon! We ordered two appetizers and two entrees. For appetizers we got crabcakes($ 14) and mushroom risotto($ 10). Both of these dishes were fantastic. The crabcakes were slightly crisp on the outside, moist and tender on the inside, and full of great crab flavor. It came with black beans and two sauces. The mushroom risotto was fantastic, well prepared and delicious. The only improvement that I could think of was including an assortment of mushrooms instead of only one type. As for the entrees, we got the black fettuccine and the braised pork shank. Both of these were good, but not as good as the appetizers. The fettuccine had a good flavor and lots of shrimps, but felt too heavy on the lemon or lemon zest. Also, the fettuccine were very clumpy. As for the pork shank, it was extremely tender and very delicious, however for some reason it tasted a little more like turkey than pork. While the pork itself was great, I thought the pairings for the sides were strange. It came with whipped sweet potato and pickled red cabbage. I didn’t feel that either of these choices went with the pork. The whipped sweet potato was very sweet and had the consistency of baby food and the red cabbage was slightly sour and didn’t pair well with the pork. I think a better combination would have been a cauliflower mash and collard greens, or baked fingerling potatoes and blanched asparagus. Service was great, will go back. But we’ll probably try different entrees next time.

Took way to long for food to come out and when it did, it was cold :( The service was fine, waitress was up beat. But wish it didn’t take so long for food to come out.

I attended Sunday Brunch. The menu had one page of choices, to which all included an appetizer and a Brunch cocktail. My screwdriver was nice and stiff, thumbs up. The table gets fresh muffins with jam and a brown sugar butter. The butter was so nicely touched with sugar, not too sweet, very cute ans delicous touch. The menu for brunch was creative and read like it ate very well. My date got ravioli, they came in a ribboned coloring, very beautiful. And it came with sausge… although picky, he ate every bite. I got poached eggs and pork belly. The home fries are cooked in bacon fat which was genius. Not 5 star because the hollendaise sauce was a little sour. And the dining room was tightly quartered, even though more floor space is available. Like everyone could hear what each table was saying. Despite that, yes I would recommend and I would go back

amazing evening my wife purchased a groupon for my birthday in november. it was expiring in a couple of weeks, and we decided to go tonight(saturday). man am i glad we did. of course, we had to be seated by 6, as it was likely the busiest night of the week, and i fully respect that. when we walked in, i was immediately taken by the chic ambiance; much like the kind of bistro you find in sugarbush or mad river glen vt.; cozy, quaint, large enough, quiet enough, tablecloths covered with paper, and beautiful service. our server, Tim was extraordinary. a true pro in every sense of the word. the owner, mike, immediately introduced himself as we entered, made us feel warm and welcome, and brought us to a nice corner romantic table for 2. perfect i ordered the mushroom bisque; amazing. thick, juicy, luscious and served in a deep bowl with a single croûton, poured expertly by tim from a coffee type silver pitcher. hot, piquante and delicious. i ordered the seafood paella and my wife the black linquini with shrimp. i was told that the paella was different, in that the rosoto was in a spicy red sauce. ‘how spicy’, i inquired? tim said about a 7.5 out of 10. i asked him if the chef could tone that down to a 4 or 5, he said he would ask. he returned less than a minute later and assured me i would get it that way. another server delivered two delicious hot rolls and amazing semi sweet/salted butter and i wolfed that down quickly. another was brought in a few minutes. both entrees were devine. i can’t rave enough about our experience there. oh, and the dessert! we shared a carrot/bread pudding souflee with some stuff in the middle of the plate(not sure exactly what it was, but don’t care, it was yummy), and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the other side of a long rectangular plate. now, i’m no connesseur(sp)?; but this place is a real keeper. on our way out, we praised tim and the chef to the owner, and told him we would certainly be back. he commented that he was celebrating his 5th year anniversary, and we wished him a hearty mazel tov. although it’s about ½ hour from home, it’s well worth the one hour round trip drive. worth the retail price even without the groupon. go there, you’ll be ever so glad you did alan f. commack ny

Came here on NYE — Place was packed and from past reviews I had high expectations. The selection they offered for the price fix menu was very reasonable — many choices to pick from. I decided on a simple Caprese salad — the mozzarella did not taste at all very fresh it had a plastic taste and it was warm like it had been sitting. The only saving grace to the dish was the flavorful pesto drizzle sadly we never got more bread for the table after asking twice so I couldn’t dip into it. The menu had a «wagyu beef wellington» and I opted on that for my main. When my friend who wanted the same dish but asked if the mushroom portion could be removed and the waiter said I’m sorry but the dish is preprepared and couldn’t be modified I should of known the dish was going to taste like it was sitting around just like my appetizer. It came to us and presentation wise it did look great but it was a deconstructed wellington meaning it was a slab of meat with a dollop of the mushroom and then a pastry round smushed on top. Wish this would of been explained on the menu, I was expecting this juicy piece of meat wrapped in a buttery crust when instead I got a dry overcooked dish with a flavorless mushroom glop and dry excuse for a pastry crust on top. The mashed potatoes as well were not creamy and entirely way too salty. To round the meal off the apple strudel pastry was also dry and I swear when I ate my whip cream I ate shards of paper or something not meant to be eaten. Restaurant’s should really showcase their best on holiday meals like this — I understand its busy but its really not as busy as any other Friday or Saturday night should be if people claim your such a great place. Disappointed to say the least, I have been wanting to try them out for some time now and I probably wont come back or recommend anyone to go either.

This is my first visit to bistro 25 I am a former Executive Sous Chef. My wife had asked if I wanted to go to dinner with the family and she had a Groupon for this restaurant so when we first arrived I thought the atmosphere looks very cozy. The server we had was very helpful and kid friendly I had brought my 2 year old and 6 year old and they were treated as one of us. The drinks were phenomenal from the bar they have an assortment of cocktails that are special to the restaurant that were amazing then menu items are also just as delicious as their drinks aside from a few minor mix-ups in between server and kitchen the meal was a complete success I would go again

After seeing this place on Groupon for months, I finally purchased a deal for dinner for 2 people on a Sunday-Thursday & I’m so glad I did ! Upon arrival we were seated immediately and given menus to look over. Shortly after that our waiter came over to take our drink order. My husband was happy to hear they had Southern Tier Pumpking on tap, which he ordered, I decided to go with a glass of Prosecco which I thought would pair nicely with the seafood dish that I saw on the menu. I ordered the Salmon over risotto and my husband ordered the short ribs. Both were very good. My husband said the short ribs were some of the best he’s had & the mashed potatoes and veggies were great as well. My salmon and risotto were cooked perfectly but my only complaint would be that the crispy skin on the top of the salmon was too rich & buttery tasting which IMO is not necessary being that it was served over a bed of creamy risotto. Our waiter was great, I wish I could remember his name. He was very friendly & attentive. With or without a Groupon, we will definetly be returning to Bistro 25 again soon.

Went with my daughter on a Friday night. I Chose this place because of the Unilocal reviews & again you Unilocalers didn’t disappoint. The owner was incredibly friendly & made us feel like old friends. We sat outside because it was a beautiful evening. We weren’t all that hungry so we skipped the apps. My daughter ordered the pasta primavera & it was delicious. I had the beef short ribs & they were cooked to perfection. Also had a dirty martini… Delicious, strong but not cheap @ $ 11.00 a pop. We’d definitely return

I came in before the show at jones beach with my teenager last week, lured by a Groupon for them. I had no idea this place was so close to my home. First off, what a nice staff. Our servers name was Natalie and she was great we totally loved her. Secondly, the prices were SUPERREASONABLE for this small upscale-ish bistro which serves new american/french style food. I ordered the truffle mac n cheese appetizer for us to split. It was insanely yum. Really ultra comfort food status. Portion was huge– we were almost full off of that alone. I ordered the quiche Lorraine for my lunch entrée and my daughter got the«moules&frites»(mussels with white wine sauce and french fries) BOTHPERFECT. and they had crème brûlée…with homemade caramel sauce and fresh fruit. Delicious. all in all it was really great. The food took a bit longer to be cooked than I would have liked but when it comes out so nice, by a lady with such a gracious smile the time means nothing. Take your time, make it good! Give this place a try– its quiet, clean and very long island-esq. You will not be disappointed at all.

After years of driving by and not stopping to try the food and drink, we were amazingly surprised. The bartender Marty made us amazing martinis and the food was perfect. Bar food was also amazing before we moved to a table. Try the tempura shrimp and fish cocktails. No regrets at this place…

Ok was pumped up to get here based on the Unilocal reviews. Located just a couple blocks from downtown Main Street. A few outdoor tables under porch but it was Africa hot so inside we went. The décor looks like Pier 1, brown paper tablecloths, big flat screens in small bar high table top area. Little too casual for the quality of food that came out. Let’s get to that. Menu was the perfect blend of small plates, entrees reasonably priced, and waitstaff that thoroughly knew the quality of the food they were serving. Started off with a Caesar salad perfectly dressed, could easily feed 2. Entrees were the spot on medium rare flat iron steak covered in peppercorn sauce that I used to dunk my pomme frites in. My partner had a NY sirloin smothered in Gorgonzola with whipped mashed, again spectacular. Was talked into the homemade cheesecake that was a filling squashed between 2 graham cracker buttered crust which was to die for. Service 5 star, food/desserts five star. Going back soon!
