Parlor House Grill

Great food, great service! We chose this restaurant totally by chance and we were so glad we did. Group of six of us including my 94-​year-​old mother in law walked in around noon on a Friday afternoon. My nephew was a bit concerned due to fact that we were the only people in the place. We were greeted by the owner who happened to be covering that day. When we placed our drink order, she told us that her bartender had not arrived yet but that she would find out how to make our drinks. They arrived and were just fine. We went on to order a wide variety of food and I must say the portions were huge and the food was great! So flew epic key this place!

I’m surprised at the negative reviews listed here. My husband and I went on a Sunday for lunch. We ordered an appetizer of coconut shrimp. Let me start by saying that these were THE BEST shrimp I have ever had. The orange dip they give you on the side is perfectly paired with the coconut shrimp. My husband ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and I ordered a chicken pesto panini. It was delicious !! The sweet potato fries were outstanding. The best I have ever had. My husband who doesn’t eat them, loved them! I would definitely return back. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the waiter was slightly annoying. He was being overly nice and it was starting to get annoying. But other than that, it was good !!!

Excellent service. Food was very good. It was nice to have a cocktail in a grownup size glass. We will definitely be coming back.

Excellent service by the waitresses and owners (you always feel welcome there) on the restaurant side.
The best baked clams I’ve ever had and I’m not the only one that has said that. They are very popular, the baked clams, and for good reason.
The mozzarella sticks are always great. The French dip sandwich is delicious. The sandwiches are inexpensive and they’re big. I’m not impressed by their other dishes though (not terrible, but nothing special). They have a bar section and restaurant section, a fireplace inside, outdoor seating, and live music some nights.

We went for the first time on Saturday night and we’re extremely satisfied! The food and service was excellent. The drinks were fabulous too! Would highly recommend. The prices were very reasonable for how good the food was. Will definitely go back!

Me and my boyfriend come here at least twice a week. The service is great even on a Saturday night with a full bar, and the owner Dina is the nicest woman ever! The food is awesome and it’s all very reasonably priced. I recommend parlor house to everyone!

Coconut shrimp delicious ! Every time my mom and I come here it’s always yummy and service is always very attentive and accommodating. ^_​^ we love to sit by the fire !

Weekend lunch and the restaurant is virtually empty. One other table dining and a few «regulars» at the bar monopolizing the waitress.
She is sweet, but distracted the entire time.
The food that comes from the kitchen is also substandard. My wife and I try onion soup, a burger, and a french dip sandwich. Meat on the sandwich is dark brown and tastes both dry and old. Nothing we tried is better than poor diner quality.
As I said, it’s all very sad.

Food is good. Décor is nothing to write home about. Barmaid very unkempt. Owner definitely needs medication. Constantly berating the wait staff. The chef is a very nice man. Otherwise I would come back as long as the owner tones her nonsense down.

My husband and I went to the Parlor House for dinner last weekend for the first time. We were very pleased with all aspects of the experience. We made reservations and Nina made sure we got a table by the beautiful new fireplace. The noise level was low even though it was pretty much full. The food was fresh and delicious. I had the almond crusted salmon and a spinach salad. The salad dressing was homemade (Balsamic vinegarette) and was really good. My husband had a salmon dish that was an October special and he really loved it. We shared an apple strudel for dessert and that was fresh and tasty. The service was great as well and on Saturday night there was live music by the bar.

I can’t believe the reviews I’m reading on here. I go to the Parlor House at least twice a week, I work down the road. Not only is the food phenomenal, but the owner, Dina, is a sweetheart and you can tell she genuinely cares about you and your food. The french onion soup is to die for, as is the Greek salad. Don’t let the negative reviews fool you — this place is great!

Pretty disappointing. Way over priced for the quality of food considering everything looked and tasted frozen. Wouldn’t go back.

I visited this restaurant during restaurant week on Long Island. That won’t affect my review too much, just thought I would mention that it was great that they were participating.
I’ll start off with some positives. The atmosphere was great. There was no unnecessary noise, and nobody in my group had to yell to be heard. I always think this is important, especially when going with a group or special date. Next, the waitress we had was very nice. She was professional but also cracked a couple jokes. I think she read our group’s personality and that goes a long way. Likewise, the manager came to check on us multiple times, as well as all the other tables. These two things are important and would bring me back, if it wasn’t for the one negative.
The one negative was the food. There weren’t problems with orders or any fingers in the salad, but the food just wasn’t that amazing. The courses seemed like they took longer than the average length to get to our table, which was surprising since there were not too many other people in the restaurant (we arrived at the beginning of what most would consider dinner time). Once they food did arrive to the table, not one person in our group was really impressed. It was edible to the point where we could not complain or demand anything from the manager, but it was not incredibly amazing, especially considering the wait and the hunger that built up in that time. Everything had some flavor, but it wasn’t distinct. That’s all I can really say on the food.
I think three stars is appropriate. It was NOT an awful experience that warranted one star but it didn’t give us experience that deserves five stars. The area was a compromise for the different locations of our group. So would I drive out of my way to make sure I am able to eat here again? Probably not. If I’m in the area and I needed somewhere to sit and have a meal? Sure. But I wouldn’t bring someone I’m trying to impress for fear they may leave underwhelmed like we did.

Pretty good food, prices are very reasonable family run waitress got lost a few times but nice place will try it again soon.

Great place great people. My husband and I have been here several times in the past 6 months. We have been looking for a place to go that is close to home where we can have a nice meal and relax-​this is the place.
The food is fresh and delicious. Everything we have tried was very tasty. You have to try their home made pumpkin cheese cake!!!

The owners and staff are really nice, warm people. This is a family owned business where they genuinely care about the food and service which is one of the reasons we keep coming back.

The menu has a nice variety and the prices are reasonable. Give it a try!

My friend was over yesterday and we decided to go out to eat. I said that Parlor House Grill was in walking distance, so we decided to try it out. I had been there once before when it opened, it was OK but nothing exciting. I figured, why not give it a second try. My friend and I looked over the menu before walking over and we talked about some food options. On the way there, I asked her if she wanted some crab cakes for appetizers as I love crab cakes. We got there, and we were greeted warmly by the owner (I think?) and the waitress was very nice as well. I was really excited to eat crab cakes and I was really disappointed when they arrived. Instead of a tartar sauce or spicy mayo it came with a marinara sauce. I was really confused about this. I felt that sauce should be for mozzarella sticks not for crab cakes. I also got no lemon to squeeze on my crab cakes, so I used the lemon from my water. The crab cakes were very mushy, but had a good flavor so that saved it for me. My friend felt the same way.
My friend ordered a French Dip sandwich, which she enjoyed she said. I ordered a chicken burger. I never had a chicken burger before and figured I would try it out. It was really disgusting. It was just as mushy as the crab cake. I could eat only half of it and I had to force myself to eat that half. The sweet potato fries were good, we both got them. But it didn’t come with any maple sauce you sometimes get with sweet potato fries.
I love dessert so I did get a chocolate mousse, which was pretty good. My friend tried it and liked it as well.
I wish I had something better to say, this place has changed so many times, but I really haven’t enjoyed it since it was called TASTE many years ago. Now that place was excellent and high quality for low cost. This place is OK, but I think I would rather go to the diner. I really really hate saying that.
I’m also going to add that I got stoned before coming here and I STILL didn’t enjoy the food. I think that says A LOT! (haha)

Went there last night, service was awesome! The server was very good, and helpful. My date is gluten free, so we were able to change her meal to accommodate her needs without any bother.
The meal I thought was very good. The BBQ spare ribs were Yummmy! I had the sliced London broil, with mashed potatoes.

Wish i could give a 3.5
If u like Dinner food then you will like there food.
Very reasonable prices, looking for a cheep date come here.
They have Medium size bar and u can order any Drinks and wine u like.
The Owners and staff are very nice, only Reason they got a 4,
I really wanted this to be a place i was going to like, but there is just nothing special about it, no cool dishes, or anything to get me coming Back…
