I just spent 15 minutes wandering around this place looking for child-proof doorknob covers. Then I spent 10 more minutes looking for a sales representative to help me find them. The first representative I encountered was a salesman for Solar City who spent 5 minutes pressuring me to switch to solar panels, ****including a google Earth search of my property**** to determine if my roof was eligible for solar panels. Uh, Solar City, how about taking me out to dinner first before trying to get to third base? Creepy. Creepy as hell. Goodbye, Home Depot.

It’s a Home Depot. I’m thinking they’re pretty standardized no matter where you go. I’ve had quite a bit of success at this location; been coming here for about 5 years. I purchased a backsplash for my kitchen that was installed by a friend. I bought some wood and made a few things. Purchased carpet for a family member. Picked up other hardware knick knacks, paint and a few tools. Found some cool light fixtures and a new ceiling fan. Oh.and today I got a killer deal on a pre-lit fake post-season Christmas tree. Can’t beat that! Everyone that I’ve come in contact with over the years has been helpful and friendly. One complaint — had a family member purchase some sod this past summer… that was pretty darned dead. Other than that, my experiences have been positive.

I have had the worst stress full experience with Home Depot and interstate laminets(the manufacturer) regarding counter top laminates. First let me tell you a little history. My counter top came on a day that shows posible rain. And was left outdoors for 1hr. There was no rain in that time period. Fast forward, when I installed the top I found the splice in the laminate ran through the corner of the sink and followed the edge of the sink for several inches. They conveniently left a sticker here that stated seam is not water proof. Within 4 days the seam swelled. For over a month I heard, the delivery people said I left it outdoors for a week,(1hr)my drain rack leaked,(don’t own one) Puddling water on the counter,(NO!) How about piss pour planing on your part. I finally won my argument and a new counter top came. 2 months later The icing on the cake was when they deliver large items you have to work for this company and unload the material with the driver. Go to a professional counter company.

I know what you’re thinking… What could possibly be so exciting about a Home Depot store that it deserves a Unilocal write-up? Well, the truth is that I’m from Tampa, Florida, and I’m up in Saratoga Springs, NY for the week to visit my Dad and take care of some fix-it projects around his condo. I knew that I’d be able to find the tools and supplies that I needed at the Home Depot, and so off I drove in search of the«Paradise of Orange Aprons» near the Wilton Mall. After a few minutes of wandering the aisles and loading up my shopping cart, I stopped and took a really good look around the store. They had the usual hardware, home repair, garden center, Holiday decorations, plumbing supplies, fluorescent light bulbs, paint, and assorted stuff that fills me with testosterone-laden joy. But then I found the section of the store with snow blowers, plow blades to fit on the front of your pick-up truck, chainsaws, and these big freaking propane torches to melt the ice off your driveway. Good God, what a rush!!! Then I chuckled to myself and said«Sure am glad that I live in Florida, because we don’t have to shovel sunshine!». And with that I paid for my stuff and left.

A follow up to my review of 9⁄24. I ended up calling the store and cancelled my delivery, the time was was about 3:15. I told them if the truck came now I would not accept the pellets. I went to Home Depot yesterday and got a refund. I went across the street and placed my order with Lowes. I doubt seriously that I will have any problems.

Can’t ever find anyone to help find anything or answer any question. Already had three people try but nobody knows anything.

BUYERBEWARE! This could be a very long email regarding a carpet(stair runner) install and a kitchen renovation but let’s just cut to the chase. They were going to charge $ 3600 to remove my old kitchen and install the new cabinets… for Christ’s sake — there are ONLY11 cabinets! Found a guy who did a spectacular job for $ 1600. THEN, they assured me when I ordered my kitchen in November that it would be complete by Christmas… no such luck! I’ve returned EVERYTHING including the countertop and gone local. Now that I have, my kitchen will be done. The worst part of the whole thing is that their corporate office couldn’t give a rat’s ass about their customers and the general manager of the Saratoga store can’t be bothered to return a call or an email. If you are doing a renovation — do yourself a favor and don’t go to Home Depot. They may be able to offer lower prices on physical merchandise but they rape you on the labor and smile while they are doing it. I can recommend any of the people who have put back the pieces that Home Depot smashed to bits — just private message me! Moral of the story — management doesn’t care about customer experience — they only care about their monthly numbers. They will tell you whatever they can to get you to swipe your card.

The best part of this Home Depot is its garden center. But I suppose it has to be to remain competitive, since there are also garden centers at nearby Lowe’s, Wal-Mart, and Hewitt’s about 2 miles up U.S. 9. There’s many employees walking around the store asking if you need assistance. Other than that, it’s a pretty standard Home Depot.
