Service great. Tuna inedible. Not sure why such high reviews. Pistachio ice cream was good.

We had a return visit last night and am updating to reflect a great evening. The service was first rate and the food, even better! Appetizers, entrees and dessert were fantastic… service again, was top notch! Can’t wait to go back to see everyone again. 2⁄2 — Had an impromptu drop in after visiting the ice bar at the Sagamore… Once again, fired on all cylinders — app, dinner, dessert and cappuccino were perfect… service great again. Thanks guys — see you soon.

The ambiance, the food, the Sinatra playing softly in the background; all interface to generate the perfect meal. This place is incredible, and owner Benny knows just how special this place is for both the diner and the staff. Don’t make the mistake of eating anywhere else in Saratoga.

We went here because of the wonderful Unilocal reviews and where a bit surprised to see that the place was tiny and the inside of the restaurant didnt look like much. If it weren’t for the reviews we wouldnt even had gone inside. Food was really good. Servers where nice and attentive. When I ordered the Wagyu beef special the server was nice enough to point out it was 45USD, I took it anyway but really appreciate the up front warning. We came in quite early and it was already hard to get a place so we ended up in front of the door. Not the best seat in the house and I wish they would do more to keep the cold wind out every time the door opens All though the food was good it’s not a 5 star because the food wasn’t exceptional(portions where huge but we can’t eat all that anyway), the interieur could really be improved, the owner could do more to keep people from getting cold wind blown in their necks when at one of the tables in front of the door(close the curtain!) For those who go there: either go early or make a reservation for a good table. Most of the food is very filling and portions are big so you may want to skip the starter.

The chef has changed(he’s now at the former Café Capriccio, on Henry near Spring) but the menu is pretty much intact. This is rich food focused on reduced sauces and lots of butter so resist the temptation to over-order; an appetizer of grilled quail followed by a small pasta was more than enough for my big appetite. In fact, I’ll be adding more pasta and some greenery to my leftover bolognese to modify it to a more cardiologist-friendly prep. If there’s a weakness, it’s the lack of vegetables. There are no vegetable sides and the veggies described on the menu are mostly garnishes other than polenta, potatoes, risotto etc which serve as repositories for the delicious pan juices. One exception is the eggplant stack, which is not nearly as heavy as the standard eggplant with mozz; highly recommended. I’d recommend you get a salad to start your meal; last night there were three appealing choices on the daily special. The setting is intimate and you can expect to get to know the folks at the next table as well as your server, but somehow it works very nicely. Since there are only 8 tables, be sure to make a reservation and get there on time.

Amazing dinner every time. Have had almost everything on the menu and all excellent. Call for seating ahead of time, because the restaurant has limited space!

Had a wonderful dinner here on 11÷27÷15. The restaurant got off to a rough start since it took a little long before our arrival was acknowledged and before we received menus. The waiter turned out to be great and very attentive and we went on to have a remarkable meal. We started off with the meatballs, which were excellent. Very tasty and flavorful. As an entrée, I ordered the Bolognese, which was very delicious. We were too stuffed to order dessert, which I am sure would’ve been delicious. This is a small place, but at least the portions are HUGE. I prefer big portions and small restaurants over big restaurants and small portions!

Totally unimpressed. 30 minutes late for our reservation. Gave us attitudes. Overinflated opinion of themselves. Not worth the visit.

I had read reviews about this restaurant and was sorely disappointed when the restaurant couldn’t not accommodate me. Fortunately I had the foresight to offer my cell phone and be available for a last minute cancelation. The restaurant didn’t not disappoint. Starting with a lamb sausage appetizer and going straight into the duck breast, everything was as wonderful as I hoped. Our server Perri was fabulous and the coconut cream pie was EVERYTHING I hoped it would be. I can’t wait to go back. Heidi, thanks for fitting us in!

You have to try it! It’s a quite fantastic place to eat. Very friendly owners and staff. The food was amazing! The portions are great! The cook shops for the food that day. Everything is fresh nothing frozen. And you sure can taste it. We both got appetizer and entrée shared a dessert. There wasn’t one thing I would’ve changed. Very very very great place to go.

Extremely friendly and courteous staff to say the least. The food was exceptional! No freezers in this place! Even the peas in the pasta and butter my daughter ate was fresh not frozen. I would rave about the past dish with wild foraged chanterelle mushrooms and hudson valley foie gras as though you can taste the fields that they had been picked enhanced by the creamiest, yet, lightest cream sauce I had ever tasted, but unfortunately by the time you get to dine here it will be gone. That is how fresh the food is, they base the menu on what is available, the way it should be done. Get you reservations way, way in advance and get to this restaurant!!!

The best meal I’ve ever had! I myself ordered the filet with mushroom ragu and lobster mashers; my boyfriend had the sea scallops and lobster risotto, both melted like butter in our mouths. Highly recommend this intimate spot … with only 8 tables the atmosphere was unbeatable in a busy downtown Saratoga. If we’re ever back in town we’ll most definitely be back here. Also, for the quality of food and service, the prices were more than reasonable.

Went there last evening and had nicely prepared meals, the scallop dish, with plump scallops and lobster risotto was wonderful. The shrimp appetizer a winner, three delicious shrimp, with just the right amount of seasoning. The wine selections, not large but certainly adequate… So you ask why only 3 stars? This place is so small and I continually smelled what was on the stove in the kitchen. The salmon smell lingered not only in the air but in my hair for the rest of the evening. It is claustrophobic… so few tables that I understand it would be difficult to give one up and that would not solve the smells from the kitchen a mere few steps away… Please oh please find a little bigger place… your food is great… your place not so much…

My first night in Saratoga ever. My first dining experience here. Hands down, remarkable. Perin is a generous and dedicated host, ensuring that everything is correctly and thoroughly explained, while providing a memorable experience with great service. Attention to detail and presentation from the kitchen is a walk in the park for their chef. the duck dish I had was the best I have ever consumed. Cooked to perfection, while the couscous and brussel sprouts added incredible strength and depth, to a dish already above the level of excellent. Unreal flavors come out of this kitchen. I am going back again tomorrow’s. This place is a gem, and a must visit.

Only 7 tables, so reservations are difficult to get… And I think this is the source of frustration posted by others. But brought my parents there for dinner and was impressed with the quality of ingredients and terrific service. To start, they bring out hot, crusty bread with white beans on olive oil. I ordered the grilled romaine salad, the taste was spectacular and cioppino, the sauce was amazing. I have a food allergy and the chef was more than willing to substitute and accommodate. Overall, food and service is fantastic, atmosphere is cozy and intimate(except for the seat by the door), I would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back. Cheers.

I’ve eaten here 3 times now and I promised myself I’d write a review. I’m from the area and I’ve eaten pretty much everywhere in town. This is a very small restaurant with limited tables so be sure to call in a reservation! Salads are very good and fresh– limited variety but all good. The Mussels appetizer is one of the best I’ve eaten anywhere– I get it each time and soak it up with their delicious fresh bread. Unreal. Veal chop was excellent, bolognese awesome, zuppa yummy too. Chef is a very nice guy, and service is friendly and top notch. Currently my favorite restaurant in Saratoga!(along with Sperry’s) ;)

Summary– Plain awesome food in a tiny and tight space. Make reservations. Food– 5 Stars We started with a salad(these appear to change daily), the baby octopus, and an eggplant thingy with cheese. The eggplant and salad were excellent. The grilled baby octopi were OK, a bit chewier than I would have expected but the sauce and everything with them were awesome. Entrees– We ordered a special veal parm, the filet, Veal«Danny», and the Scallops. Everything was straight excellent. The Scallops(mine) were perfectly cooked, the lobster risotto it was on was very good, and and the sauce was delicious. The Veal Danny(wifey) made me jealous of her it was so good. Little medallions of veal with lobster on top in a cream sauce. Nom nom nom. The Veal Parm and Filet were also excellent, the red sauce being particularly good. Dessert– OMG to die for coconut cream pie, should be illegal. The Flourless chocolate cake was also phenomenal. Service– 5 Stars Personable, friendly, and timely. Atmosphere– 4 Stars Other than being so small it’s borderline claustrophobic, it’s nice. Drinks– 4 Stars Good wine menu. Value– 4 Stars Not cheap, but worth it.
