The salads are good, not better than price chopper salad bar really, but as good. Service is usually very slow.
My biggest issue however is why would anyone who at all cares about their neighbors or the community support an Albany businessman who takes advantage and does not pay his bills? This man is not honest and has no integrity.

Every time you orders salad in Saratoga, and it isn’t from The Greenhouse, you are making a mistake. Recommendations: Mexicali, Buffalo Chicken, and Cobb.

ok, this place is back up on my list. They must have fired the guy who totally screwed up my order before. Thanks guys. Plus there’s one guy who remembers be now. And I live in CA. I only come out here every month or 2…

Really great service and management. I didn’t like the dressing on my salad and went back to order a new one, and the manager made me a new one for free. Quick service, very clean, and tasty ingredients.

The little piece of flatbread is gone but it’s still a big ass salad, with quality ingredients and a well balanced dressing.

Great tasting, big salads BUT — Greenhouse often looks closed to passersby and the staff can be rather unfriendly. Yesterday, I headed over to Greenhouse for a salad and thought it was closed at first glance as the front of the store was completely empty. As the doors were open, I headed in and perused the menu for a few moments – nobody came out. Another moment went by and another couple of customers came into the store. Nobody came out. Enough time had passed that we all could have gone behind the counter and made our own meals! Ordinarily I would have given up and left — but I really wanted that salad.
Finally, another customer headed toward the back of the restaurant and called out to find if anyone could help. Two surly female employees came out and took orders in not exactly the most gracious of manners.
I want Greenhouse to succeed. Saratoga needs a good salad place, but I am afraid the restaurant won’t last long if they push their customers away by having an unstaffed storefront/​unfriendly staff.

Coming from the west coast where salad places are a dime a dozen I was so excited to find this option in Saratoga. They had a plethora of options including pre-​destined concoctions or build your own. Portions were huge and reasonably priced. You can turn any salad into a wrap if you’re craving carbs. I elected to go with the Gotham salad my first time here which included bacon, ham, marinated chicken, egg, beets, Vermont cheese, and iceberg lettuce. I topped it off with Apple vinaigrette dressing which was ever so subtle. My husband ordered the Mexicali wrap which was delicious with mixed greens, white beans, avocado, tomato, cheddar cheese, and Cajun chicken complemented nicely by the jalapeño ranch dressing. Service was fast, it was clean, plenty of seating, and options. Will be back when I’m craving a custom salad.

I eat their salads two or three times a week. They are so large and filling and scrumptious that I don’t feel hungry for a long time after. I’ve managed to drop a few pounds since I started this. Yahoo.
They are nice people. The food is fresh. They once made a mistake and immediately offered to fix it. The soups are great, too.

Got the Light Salad with the spicy balsamic. Yum! Great balance of flavors and a lot more chicken than I was expecting. Salad was 9 bucks and I left full. Yum yum.
On another note, the guy who made my salad was very nice and helpful. Will be back here.

Pretty good a little pricey but worth it! The staff is really nice and I love how you can make your own salad or wrap! Pretty fresh great atmosphere too!

It’s great to see a wrap/​salad place in town, but painful to see the execution fall so remarkably short… as is too often the case in SS. Big bowl of expensive lettuce. The meats we had were all slimy… wouldn’t feed them to our dog. Hardly any toppings, it’s clear they are being real cheap with anything other than the lettuce. We spent $ 30 bucks on two wraps and a salad and nobody got through more than a few bites. Service was friendly but very slow. The place has a good ambiance and it’s empty.
This model is so EASY to replicate well (e.g Chop’t), I hope the owners can fix this before this place goes out of business.

After eating beef lo mein and Price Chopper’s ready made chicken wings for a week, I decided to do my arteries a favor and splurge a little more on a healthy meal. Maybe it’s the season, but every time I walk by there is hardly more than one person in there, so there is never a wait and each salad — made to order — never takes more than 5 minutes. You can choose from several types of salads like Cobb or Cesar, or you can customize down to greens, dressing, protein, etc. Wraps are $ 1 cheaper, but slightly smaller, which may explain why. I tried the Cobb salad and also a customized wrap including mesculin mix, blue cheese dressing, asparagus, avocado, egg white, corn, and grilled chicken. so. good. MMMM!
Btw, ask for those loyalty punch cards if you plan to frequent. By 10 get the 11^th free. Be sure to ask because I wasn’t offered one my first time.
Ingredients are fresh. Staff is friendly. They take credit. Guaranteed seating during this season. Fair prices. Where would Saratoga be without this lone healthy, affordable option?!?

Saratoga needed this place. The service is great, the salads are delicious, and it’s quick. Nice, healthy, huge meal to go. I like having the salad all chopped up as they do it here. There are all kinds of salads on the menu, but i like choosing my own mix-​ins best.

Had late lunch/​early dinner before going to the movies. The salad was huge. Everything was fresh and tasty. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was quite clean. I had the «chinatown». My husband designed his own salad. We will be back as there were other salads on the menu I want to try.

The vegetables were fresh but didn’t have the most flavor, and I would like a little more variety in selection– like roasted tofu, falafel, tahini or miso based dressings, sprouts, etc. They also don’t have any metal forks, which I find a little strange, eating a salad in house with plastic. The concept salads are a good deal but if you try to start adding things it gets pretty pricey. Agree with another reviewer, the inside could have a little more ambience.

Greenhouse is delicious! They just need a good sign! Salads are delicious and gigantic! Reasonably priced. A great, quick alternative to the longer wait restaurant scene on Broadway.

I always get wraps while my girlfriend gets salads. Great place! Service is fast and friendly. The salads are delicious and the variety is incredible. Great location; only two blocks from Broadway. Next to a dry cleaners and a price chopper (and soon a Bow Tie movie theatre).
And, they have frequent diner cards to earn a free salad/​wrap.

Very good salads, ingredients were fresh. Super nice employees! Will definitely be back!

I have not been to the Albany Greenhouse but was anxious to try The Greenhouse because there really isn’t a good place in town to get a salad. I’ve just had one salad, but here are my first impressions:
1. Staff friendly and attentive: They greet you nicely, and are helpful and upbeat. They act happy to be working there.
2. Location: awesome. Very centrally located.
3. Food: Tasty. I ordered a Mexicali salad. It is very large, well made with lots of ingredients (white beans, corn, tomato, chicken, avocado, onion), and well dressed with a spicy jalapeño ranch dressing. It tasted good, tasted fresh, was enormous.
The Greenhouse offers a number of «concept» salads. The salad can be made in a bowl or in a wrap. For each salad, they have a recommended dressing, but you’re also free to pick one of a dozen or more dressings «on tap». I ordered mine to go, and I was out in under 5 minutes. I will definitely go back.
