Horrible and rude service. The food is mediocre and not worth the money. Avoid if you can.

I vaguely recalled a satisfactory meal here on an earlier layover but when I stopped in this month I was sorely disappointed. For a quick lunch I ordered only the Dungeoness Crab roll and an iced tea. Since the crab is a northern California specialty and the sandwich cost $ 23, I had high expectations, but both the roll and the crab were dry and unpalatable. The homemade potato chips that accompanied it were excellent, but that’s not what I paid $ 23 for. To top it off, the waiter was very lackadaisical, showing no interest in making me feel welcome or well served. It is sad to see someone not enjoy his job, but when you’re interfacing with the public you at least have to fake it.

Well often times looks can be deceiving…,.however this place is not the exception. In total need of a face lift and an overhaul on employees! The employees here are often times rude and un accommodating. I’m not sure if it’s a lack of ability to communicate or a flipit disregard… good luck if you try this place… do yourself a favor and take the 10 steps to Gordon !

I had about 3 hours before my flight out of San Francisco, so I decided to have lunch at the Yankee Pier. I got a large bowl of clam chowder and a Bradley’s Caesar salad. The gracious waitress brought us the soups and salads at the same time as I had requested. Can’t stress how nice the waitress was. She kept coming back to see if she could get me anything. When I saw others drinking these Anchor Steam mugs, she immediately came over and asked if I would like what those guys are having. Of course! And when she brought it over, I were surprised at how large they were! Don’t even think I was able to finish it all. The salads were romaine lettuce laying on a plate with Caesar dressing and a few croutons. Technically, it’s not quite a salad if it needs to be cut up rather than struggling to shred it up without making a mess on the table. The lettuce was crisp and really very good, but it was a bit of a pain to eat. The chowder was hot and steaming. The broth was very thin for clam chowder, but it did have good flavor. I liked the open layout. You could see the cooks at work. Also, they had a huge window that served as the wall and we enjoyed people watching. They had Wi-Fi and quite a few people were on their computers working. I would recommend eating at Yankee Pier, even though they are on the expensive side for an airport restaurant. The food was good, although it was different than I expected. It’s a great place to grab a sit down meal if you have time to burn before your flight.

Overall a great breakfast spot in SFO We ordered the eggs Bennie. My Hubbie got the smoked salmon and I got the regular. Tip: the regular Bennie is not on the menu but you just have to ask. It’s $ 15. The salmon Bennie had quite a lot of smoked salmon! However the ratio of salmon to the rest of the dish(in our opinion) was off with the huge potion of the salmon The regular Bennie was very tasty. The sauce tasted homemade and had a big lemon taste which I like. These dishes came with a a roasted potato style hash browns with some peppers in them. They were OK. Given the choice I would ask for another side like fruit or even fries.

Thank you other Unilocal for steering me to the clam chowder and crab sandwich. Yummo! Chips were very greasy and needed salt. I left those. The crab on toasted bun a winner. My husband’s shrimp taco were on corn tortillas and we’re not bad for airport food. Came with side of rice and beans which were good. Clam chowder was good. Lots of meat and chunks of potatoes. This is airport food but good airport food.

Gross and bland. Don’t come here if you want a good meal and time to kill. My fish taco was full of grease and the beans aren’t even cooked. Walk a little further to Burger King. You won’t regret it.

Miranda was an amazing and sweet lady and is the main reason I(regrettably) decided to eat here. However, I found the food to be subpar. No better than fast food but at much higher prices and paired with poor service as well. My server was Genet and she continued to less than impress me which each time she inattentively made her rounds. Left food sitting to get cold when it should go to the table right next to it. Took 10 minutes to bring me my water. Asked me how my food was and immediately walked away as she did so without giving me a chance to so much as make a peep. She also attempted to charge me extra for cheese(that I didn’t request) and tried to argue that with me. And when I paid my bill, just to add a little icing, she didn’t bring me all my change. And then I had to repeatedly tell her it was lacking she got attitude and finally threw the rest down and walked off. NOTIMPRESSED. But feel free to stop by to say hi to Miranda at the front! She’s great.

The first question I was asked when came in Yankee Pier is «What time is your flight». I really appreciated the speed the order was taken and processed. Within 5 mins I had home-made potato chips and Maine-style lobster roll on my table. Very efficient service and good food. A thing I didn’t expect is cucumbers in my poll, it was also too chopped.

I stopped in for breakfast after a really early arrival. The staff were friendly and helpful and service was better than I expected for an airport restaurant. I ended up buying one of the scrambles. It was just okay. A bit greasy and flavorless, but again, about on par for airport food.

This location preaches the practice of sustainability when selecting fish and fishing practices, but pushes the sale of bottled water onto its customers. Hypocrites. Food is otherwise fine including the clam chowder and crab eggs benedict. Service is rushes, as expected, given the location, but professional … other than the shameless bottle water pushing.

Great clam chowder can be found at… SFO? You read that right. I had a pretty damn tasty bowl of chowder at an airport. Scoff all you want; I am not alone in praising Yankee Pier. In fact, Eater included Yankee Pier as one of the 2011 Top 5 Places to Eat at SFO while People Magazine and USA Today named it one of their Top Airport Restaurants in 2009. Most recently, Conde Nast Traveler included Yankee Pier among the best airport restaurants in the world in September 2014. Not bad for a fast casual located behind the TSA curtain. I was between flights and completely famished when I visited Yankee Pier and the staff went to great lengths to ensure I didn’t miss my flight. Better still was the clam chowder. Creamy, briny and boasting large chunks of clam in every bite. Paired with tangy sourdough bread and a lovely Stone IPA this was a better lunch than it had any right to be. Yankee Pier completely came through for me in the lay over clutch.

Arriving at SFO at 9:00PM after our vacaction, we stumbled across Yankee Pier and saw clam chowder on the menu, and observed someone eating what looked like a(delicious) crab roll. Decision made. We ordered those items and damn if they didn’t disappoint! The clam chowder was packed with clams and potatoes, and it had a very nice consistency and flavor. It was miles better than the clam chowder we had at Fish. in Sausalito the last time, and it was enjoyed without the insufferable asshats that pack Fish. most of the time. The crab roll was also very good and easily the match of or ever superior to it’s Fish. cousin. The fresh chips that came with it were uneven though. Some tasted old, but most were hot, crispy and tasty. If you’re looking for an airport meal break, you could do worse!

AIRPORTFOODWASSURPRISINGLYTASTY I try to refrain myself from eating over priced airport food but when there’s delays and your hAngry there is an obligation to spend. I wanted to find a nice place where I can get connected, eat a nice meal, and work without being pressured to leave after eating… I saw that Yankee Pier would meet my needs. ROASTEDCHICKENBREAST($ 18) — it comes with mash potatoes but I substitute that for their cilantro-lime rice, spinach, and a dipping sauce. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much but after the first bite… My presumptions changed. The chicken was so juice and tender with good flavor in and out. The dipping sauce was creamy and light, and the rice was buttery!!! I enjoyed every bite not because I was hANGRY but because it was actually a worthy dish. Service was just ok. I never received a glass of water after ordering it when I first sat down. I had to go up in the middle of my meal to ask for it because people weren’t attending to me since I got my dish. But I appreciated allowing me to sit away from the airport masses to get work done without rushing me to leave the restaurant. I’d eat here if I ever get stuck at the airport that long again. Until the next review…

When I fly out SFO(United Terminal 3) I usually arrive early to 1) get through the check in/security and 2) grab a meal at Yankee Pier. I prefer to sit, have a beer and some good food versus to sitting in the United Club or gate area unless I have some serious work to do before boarding my flight! Food: I’ve had several of their menu items here including their cioppiono, shrimp po’boy, burger, etc. This time around I had at the crab roll with chips made on site. The sandwhich itself was very good, lots of crab in between toasted sourdough. The chips there were meh. they were crunchy, thick cut, and not overly oily which was a plus but they didn’t have much flavor. could have used some salt or something. Not an overly large selection of draft beers, I had an Anchor Steam which paired well with my sandwich. Service: Funny but I think I’ve had the same waiter every time I’ve dined here over the years. The service is quick, friendly. and efficient. Atmosphere: Located before you head out towards the main gate areas in Terminal 3, this restaurant is usually bustling but I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table. Get a seat next to the window and you can watch all the people hurrying to catch their flight as you sit back and enjoy a cocktail or beer. Value: Not a bad value for being inside a major airport. It’s not cheap by any means but okay for a sit down meal service in SFO. Overall: My go to spot whenever I have time to kill before a flight at SFO in Terminal 3.

A family of four wanted a bite to eat before boarding a plane that takes off in an hour. We should have time, right? No line. We should be good! NOPE. All of these well-meaning people couldn’t deliver on a simple order. Are they understaffed? It doesn’t appear that way. Anyways, I’ll definitely be thinking twice about stopping by here. AMBIANCE ========== Wood tables, tile floor and a hardly noticeable reference to ocean fishing. You aren’t going here for the ambiance. FOOD ====== EGGSANDBACONWITH A SIDEOFFRUIT Nothing special. It took FOREVER to get to us and by the time it did it was cold. RATING: 2⁄5 BEVERAGE ========= COFFEE Standard, nothing to write home about. RATING: 3⁄5 PRICE /VALUE ======= Breakfast for four with beverages was around $ 50USD. — Not worth it. SERVICE ========== SLOW!!! We were there for almost 30 minutes before our food came out. We were starving and we needed to catch a plane(eventually). We barely had enough time to eat and make our flight.

Had an excellent steak here while on a extended layover thanks to United Airlines being inflexible, and way off their game. The server even asked me how much time I had; really nice touch! Well I had plenty of time. Steak cooked to perfection, fresh crispy salad, and grilled veggies as a healthy option with the meal. Everyhting was like $ 37. Also my phone was dead, and they had some places to charge near the tables.

What makes for a good airport restaurant? Prompt service, good hot food, spacious seating. Yankee Pier satisfies all of that. Prices are on the higher end, but it’s also an airport. Had an hour to spare before my flight and needed to eat something. Yankee Pier was the closest sit-down restaurant near my gate. Checked out the menu outside and decided to try it out. Got seated at a table right away. Plenty of room for my roller bag next to me which isn’t always the case at an airport restaurant. Server came by within minutes and took my order. After ordering, I had to get on a call and boot up my laptop. Was preoccupied in my meeting so wasn’t watching the time, but it felt like the food came out fast.(Thought it was someone else’s meal when the server came by). The hot, freshly-cooked pasta and seafood really hit the spot. Much more appetizing than the overpriced salads/sandwiches at grab-and-go places nearby! Took only a few minutes for me to devour my plate. Server noticed the empty plate and took it away and presented the bill without me having to catch his attention. All in all good experience.
