4.25 stars Color me pleasantly surprised. The few things I’d heard, read, & seen about Sixteen Mile House pointed to the fact that this Millbrae steakhouse might be better suited for my grandma & her YMCA friends than for me & my 30-something crowd. Well, if senior citizens eat this well, pass me the Early Bird menu & call me «Granny,» cuz I want some more! Our meal started with warm, perfectly crusty sourdough bread & nicely salted butter. Shrimp cocktail & prime rib for him(cooked medium rare to his liking; he ate every bite!) I loved loved loved my order of garlic roasted prawns, though wished there were more than four shrimp. Side of creamed corn was just so-so, baked potato was extra good because I could add as little or as much butter, sour cream, chives, bacon bits(which he commented were excellent) as I wanted. Cozy booths, quick service, and them shrimp tho.

Had a really great prime rib dinner at Sixteen mile house. Every flavor was above average, from The baked potato with condiment lazy Susan, to the hot bread and flavorful butter, the creamed corn I ordered, and the richly aged and seasoned beef. This is probably in my top 3 prime ribs in The Bay Area, 5a5 and House of Prime Rib being the others. Plus given the peninsula location it’s easy to park, no need for reservations and much more convenient than heading to downtown SF. The prawn cocktail appetizer I got, as well as the garlic roasted shrimp my companion orders were likewise excellent. I definitely will return

Looking for some good American food and a good deal come on in drop by for happy hour — well that’s what I did for an afternoon at 16 Mile House and their specials we’re bomb, sirloin steak on a burger with fresh cut vegetables topped with steak fries and a cup of house soup for $ 15 — where u get that kind of deal — that’s what I’m talking about simple American bar lounge dining and music — happy

Got seated, served bread instantly it was great. Sat there for 20 minutes no one ever served us. Multiple servers walked by, asked one if we could get our server. Still nothing, waited another 10 minutes and we left. Never done that before

Oh I went to 16 miles for Thanksgiving an so unbelievable how we expect to have a great dinner is a special day. So I order a Grisp home made fried an oh my gosh I can’t stand the smell I end up didn’t finish my dinner, I want to complain but my friend said not to say anything but I was so upset when I don’t let them know it was really bad, chicken was spoil maybe they forget to get it out ahead, or maybe they put on microwave so to melt it I don’t know, but be honest it was nasty, smell I ever had, so later on my cousin said, her Turkey was terrible an also her mashed potatoes, an corn, was so bad, I’m so disappointed everyone ask me how is your thanksgiving? My answer to them… terrible cause I paid a lot for this dinner but it was terrible, an bad food, I will never going back to this place anymore,

This place seems to have a loyal crowd of «regulars». That’s great for the regulars and not so great if you’re not one. Our waitress(who only had 3 tables including ours sat at the time), chatted with a table of regular customers for 10 minutes while my $ 44 steak cooled off in the window — I waited tables in a fine restaurant for 6 years — the cardinal sin is to serve cold food, particularly a $ 44 steak. Gave it 3 stars because the food, despite being cold, was actually good. Might give them another try, but won’t be sitting in that waitress’ section.

Upon entering the restaurant, I found myself in the bar area. I could not see anyone that would seat me, and I was wondering if I should seat myself or even if I was in the right restaurant, until I saw a «16» on the wall. After about a half minute of standing there and looking around, a voice from the back of the bar area said«One for dinner?» I looked in his direction and said yes. I was then escorted to an area that looked more like a restaurant, which was behind the bar area. I placed my order, and my «cocktail» of choice was water, which never appeared until I asked the waitress if I could have my water. She was surprised that nobody brought it to me yet, and promptly got me a glass of water. I ordered the early bird special petite prime rib. The food was quite good, and even though it was a petite portion of eight ounces, it pretty well filled me up. The service was fairly prompt, although I needed to ask for my water to be refilled a couple of times, rather than someone noticing that my glass was empty.

such a great karaōke crowd here. If your big into karaōke then the sound system is just right for you. You definitely can tell its happening by the people that come here. There’s a lot of regulars from the other karaōke spots. They have karaōke here every Wednesday but its most important to come that once a yr for the millbrae art and wine festival because that’s when they really go all out. I sang«who let the dogs out«for the first time ever ha. I had some ladies loving it too. I didn’t have any problems at the bar. My mom seemed to have a problems with a lot of other people getting served before her when she was supposed to be next to be served at the bar. The food is really good here. The margaritas and long islands are really good too, they’re decent priced especially good for how good the drinks are. There sure is a lot of room in this place too fully enjoy yourself. There’s tons of seating and the bathrooms are really clean. Too me those are some real important things. If you want a good deal on food come here early for the cheaper prices for the same great quality.

Prime Rib was not bad. Mash potatoes had a weird paint taste to it. Maybe it was made with powder broth? Not sure if there was AC, but i was sweating while i was eating in there. Very stuffy.

Hidden gem amongst all the other restaurants on Broadway. When you first walk in you’ll step into the bar where there’s usually a live band playing or the local sports teams on tv. As you make your way through the bar you’ll be greeted by a friendly host. I have been here quite a few times and have found that they are pretty consistent with how they prepare their food. So you’ll never have any surprises. The meat, from prime rib to the ribeye, have been very juicy and flavorful. The salads are fresh, and the seafood could not be better. The crab legs are a favorite of ours and have always been good, but the oyster Rockefeller takes the cake, it’s not to salty or overly cheesy like how most places make it. Nor is it served on a plate of rock salt that would kill your teeth if one accidentally got into your oyster. This is a dish we always order at every visit and have even ordered it to go. If you’re in the neighborhood or live in the neighborhood and have never been it’s a MUST!

I like the early bird prime rib special. Baked Potatoes was well done and fluffy. Some restaurants don’t get this right, so this was a plus for me. Prime was soft and juicy. Bread is heated and very soft.

I spent 5 years of my life in Australia. One year was in Sydney and four years in Western Australia. There one would find charming restaurants/pubs called road houses. Sixteen Mile House has that special character and atmosphere just like an Australian road house. I had a delightful and tasty lunch. Service was great and the prices were reasonable. If you can’t make it to Australia, you will get a good feel for Australia in this establishment.

We had my father’s 90th birthday party in the banquet room in June 2015. The owner Peter helped keep the party within our budget. Our guests enjoyed the celebration, but best of all my dad had a wonderful evening, as he says, «Many wonderful memories were made!» Thank you, Peter for a great event. We will see you soon!

I expected cheap steakhouse like Palace on Mission and Army St, AKA Cesar Chavez for you young bucks who weren’t around when it was a big deal to change the street name. That alone just dated me. Sad face. Walking in, I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere of the place. It’s like old school steakhouse with a live band and a bar filled with local neighborhood people. The floor was carpet, not sawdust like the vision I had in my brain. We greeted with friendliness and customer oriented smiles. We were treated to snow crab legs on the house by the chef. How delightful was that! My scallops were DRENCHED in butter. It was good but every bite, I felt my fat cells just growing and clogging up. I know that is such a heinous thought, but oh well. My baked potato was delicious. I love how that they have a condiment carrier for the baked potatoes. I don’t know why I waited so long to dine here. So glad I finally gave it a whirl!

Made a reservation. Good music. Ordered filet minion with side of pasta and sautéed spinach. We started with oysters which my friend really enjoyed. Don’t expect high customer service. All of Food was plain. Didn’t get asked if everything was good until you are taking your last bit of food. AND the waitress tryed to argue and tell me that the butter knife was used as a steak knife. nOT!

The prime rib petite was great and got it well done. Vegetables were frozen supermarket veggies thawed and warmed up. Baked potato was overcooked and okay. They did have sour cream, bacon bits and chives that you could pile on. They give you bread to eat and was okay also. The best next to the prime rib was the salad. You have to try it due to they bring out a cart full of choices and you make it to your specs. Give you a good side portion for $ 7.00. The fish aquariums are nice and have variety of fish to watch. So all in all get the salad and prime rib petite and you won’t go wrong, other add-ons may be okay.

Peter and his staff helped us put on a fantastic party for my Mother In law’s 80th birthday last night. He worked with us all the way though the event and i can’t thank him enough. The food was top shelf, the service was excellent, and we all had a perfect time. If i could give Peter and his staff 10 stars i would as it was that good! Thank you Peter for making us all feel like family!

Whoever said«Nostalgia ain’t what it used to be» was wrong! Our first foray to the Sixteen Mile House was such a trip back in time! The menu, the waitress, the cocktails… everything was unapologetically 1950s. The martini, generously poured and ice-cold, set me up for the prime rib plate, another naughty pleasure. The meat was tender and cooked just the way I ordered it. We noticed families, singles and couples here. This was mid-week and on the early side. I got the feeling that Sixteen Mile House is more of a neighborhood treasure than a destination restaurant. In my view, this is a big plus!

Sixteen Mile House has gone down hill. Slow service. Mediocre food. our prime rib was half fat. Baked potato was overcooked, mealy and had a crusty, hard, dried out skin. Ick. Sorbet was freezer burned. water glasses and ice tea glasses sat empty for half the meal. I’d go to Burger King before I came back here. $ 75 tab for 2 of us. and the food/service wasn’t worth HALF that. You were warned.
