Not a bad spot to grab some food. Cozy environment, food came out quick, pizza tasted ok. For two slices of pizza and a pitcher of beer, cost was $ 25 without any gratuity.

Three and a half stars! The exterior showed that this was a small local pizzeria so, because it was also on the idine list, we decided to try it. It was early, about 4:30 p.m., so we had our choice of tables. The waitress was quite quick in giving us menus and taking our drink order. The restaurant has only four beers on tap with nothing exciting or unusual from which to choose. They have quite a selection of wines and coffees as well. I ordered a draft Stella Artois and I wish it had been a little cooler. We ordered a medium Haight Ashbury, which had salami, black olives, pepperoncini, onions, and mozzarella cheese. It tasted good and was enough for two people who were not overly hungry. We watched the start of the Cleveland vs Golden State basketball final game 7 while we ate. Not four stars because the Parmesan cheese smelled a little off when we sat down and we experienced the same odor a couple of times while we ate.

I was a little apprehensive about eating here based on the reviews, and when I first walked in, the smell almost sent me out the door, but the hubby really wanted pizza and one of the customers had something that looked pretty good. I don’t know about all of the pizzas here but my Haight Ashbury medium pizza was excellent. The crust was not too thick but just right for me and the combination of veggies had a great spicy taste. The little Italian(?) man, who I thought might be the owner, made the place seem authentic! Our waitress was also attentive and polite. Not sure the place deserves such low ratings. Also the pizza by the slice(which a table near us had), was a HUGE slice!

We’ve tried this place twice since it’s right across the street from where we live. The first time we were trying to stay low carb so we ordered rotisserie chicken and a salad. The chicken was gross. Super dry and lacking flavor. The next time we got a pizza which was ok one we added salt and Parmesan. I really wanted to like this place since it’s so close but there are way better places within a couple of blocks so we won’t be going here again.

Well for $ 4.50 you get a HUGESLICEOFPIZZA! The only«downside» is that it’s super crispy crust, which I love, but if you don’t love it then it might be a problem ;) Seriously. The pizza was like a foot long and the top was maybe 5″ across??? It took awhile to be heated, so I ended up eating there but it was alright. I got the chicken pesto slice and it was okay. It works if you’re hungry and on a budget. They also have rotisserie chicke(just saying).

It’s an average pizza joint. Stopped in for a piece of pizza after walking around Union Square during the morning. It is a nice option that they serve pizza by the slice. It’s also super cheap which is great: $ 6 for pizza and a drink!

This may have been the worst pizza I’ve ever had, and I feel I have particularly low standards for pizza(Lover of frozen pizza like bagel bites, Celeste, hot pockets etc). My issues with the pizza I ordered are that(1) the crust is VERY similar in texture to cardboard — neither crispy nor fluffy. Just an odd combo of hard and chewy;(2) The cheese could be peeled off entirely on one thick, inseparable piece and was super salty, greasy, yet flavorless. I’m still not sure what type of cheese that was. The sauce and sausage topping were good though but not enough to save the pizza. The wings we got tasted like boiled chicken. My boyfriend’s quote: «I don’t know why they’re red because I don’t think any sauce or flavoring was used. It tastes like these were coated with red water.» 2 stars because you get a good size pizza for the price and because it looked like they had good beer deals($ 14 pitchers of lagunitas IPA)

I used to live in SF for two years and this was always the place to go! I’ve had almost everything on the menu and I have never been disappointed! I’ve missed it since I’ve moved back to SoCal but can’t wait to visit soon!

This spot is nice for a couple reasons. First, I’m not into sports bars but I do like to watch football. I don’t have a tv at home, so that complicates things. So when I can, I like to go to Piraat to watch the games because it’s right down the street from me, and also important– it’s not dark and dank like sports bars are– it’s got windows all around and 3 tvs that are always playing sports. It’s a great spot to get a pitcher and have a couple slices while watching your team. That being said, the pizza is not going to be winning any awards anytime soon. I don’t mind that though– keep out the trendsetters, I’ll hang with the tourists and students in the neighborhood and eat my Haight-Ashbury pizza, and admire the rotisserie chicken on its spit.

Service was good but pizza was terrible. No flavor. Just another easy going place to have beer.

So this spot is right around the corner from my gf’s place. We were starving and had to eat asap. We walked in here and there were maybe 5 people in the restaurant. Not a good sign… Then I check their Unilocal,2 ½ stars??? But I tried to keep an open mind. We ordered the cheesy bread and chicken pesto pizza. It was pretty solid! I’ll be honest, we were a couple drinks deep, but it satisfied our taste buds. The crust on the pizza had a good crunch and decent flavor. Cheesy bread reminds me of Little Caesar’s crazy bread. So if you’re into that, order the cheesy bread here and worry about your stomach later.

Went to Pirrate Pizza today for lunch and wasn’t impressed by the food or customer service. I could best classify the food as «after a long night of drinking» sober up food. I ordered the meatball sandwich and when I asked was it pork or beef, my question couldn’t be answered. The inside of the place isn’t bad but probably wont go again

Tasty Hawaiian pizza slice every time I drop by for a quick snack. The cheese is gooey, crust is tasty, and pineapples and ham do their thing. The slices are large, so one is all you need(probably). Service is quite friendly, and I’ve never had trouble finding a seat or waiting too long for food. Did I mention that it’s $ 5 plus tip for the slice? This is cheaper than 2 tacos at Chipotle. I consistently order the same thing, and they consistently deliver. Solid 4-star in my experience. Don’t see what everyone else is complaining about.

The absolute crappiest pizza in the city. Dry as a desert, tasted like halfway cooked pastry dough and all they do is throw cheese on a fifteen hour old slice of pizza to make it look ‘fresh’. This pizza legitimately grossed me out. I mean, I still ate it cause it’s pizza but I was offended. Also there’s one waitress that was literally doing too much.

This is not a pizzeria. It’s some sort of very slow fast food establishment. Soft doughy crust which is essentially a pizza mistake, unless you’re Pizza Hut of course. The slices are huge and really a meal all on their own, however they also cost over $ 5.00. So what you have here are the most expensive slices of pizza ever, that takes 15 minutes to receive. Tasty, no doubt but you are certainly not in-and-out as you should be in an actual pizza joint and it’s good like Chef Boyareed is good… not actually proper in any way.

We walked by on the weekend and it was packed but weeknight and it wasn’t even full in the restaurant and no one eating on the table outside. We ordered a pizza, wings, 2 Caesar salads, and cookie to go and it was about $ 40 with a 10% off coupon from the hotel. The person who took our order wasn’t friendly but efficient to get the order correct. She said it would take about 20 minutes so we went to Walgreens. We picked up our food and walked down the street to our hotel. The food was neatly packed in clear take out containers and the salad dressing was ample for us to put on our lettuce, cheese, and croutons. The salads were pretty big size. Wings were a little spicy and we got them with BBQ sauce. Pizza was alright too. There was too much food for us all, and we had a few pieces of pizza leftover. Not sure I would like eating in, but for take out, it was good.

Geteilte Meinungen– Das mussten wir testen! Also: Wir(eine Gruppe mit sechs Personen) gingen gegen 22 Uhr in das Restaurant. Genau ein Tisch für sechs Personen war noch frei. –supi! So.

Rotisserie chicken was dry. I liked the skin more than the chicken… Sausage calzone was ok and a nice size but the cheese was cold??? Why??? Mashed potatoes were ok, vegetables were kind of soggy. Pizza was thin and not so good. Service was quick, lady working there was nice. Probably would not come back as the food wasn’t all that great. Maybe for the calzone. I would not recommend. Unless needing a cheap snack.

Terrible service and disgusting pizza; I kind of want to vomit just thinking about it. Came here as a last resort because it’s Valentine’s Day and I’m stupid for not making a reservation anywhere and every other restaurant in the area is completely booked for the night. For anyone to say that the pizza here is «decent» … have you actually ever eaten pizza? Hot Pockets pizzas taste better even with all their preservatives and fake cheese. I honestly don’t know how this place is still open, but I guess art students really really need cheap food.

Just had pizza and wings delivered. The wings were really soggy, I can’t even describe the taste other than watery. Probably one of the worst wings I’ve ever had in my life. The pizza was fresh and delivered fast. Those wings though… I can’t get over how gross they were.
