Good pizza after a long night of walking and sightseeing… if you’re on Geary and need a quick bite, you can definitely do worse. I’ll be back for certain.

4 stars for a by-the-slice place. I was originally considering 3 stars but the cheese ended up being tasty and overall happy. It’s about $ 4-something a slice for pepperoni pizza. $ 5 credit card requirement! They also have gyros, fries, falafels, and gelato.

I recently stayed in SF for a conference, and found this place on the same block as the Westin Hotel — close to Union Square. I ended up going there twice over the 4 days I was there. It’s quick, convenient, and you get a good amount of food for your money. The pizza is A-OK, they throw it in the oven when you order so it’s always fresh. They also have gelato, although I didn’t try it. Service is fast and no frills.

Simply AMAZING pizza. So FRESH! Large portions. The Hawaiian pizza is to die for. Super small place so not great for large parties but ordering to go or delivery, ugh! So good no one will be disappointed

Banana nut gelato. There is no better night cap than eating a creamy confection that tastes just like some homemade banana nut bread. The pizza is alright. I’ve had my fair share of late night pizza and I wouldn’t call this pizza very memorable. But the gelato. Man oh man. The gelato is rivals some of the gelato shops I’ve had with artisan gelato back in ritzier areas of LA. I think I’ve found my new late night snack!

Came here for a quick snack and a good slice of pizza — and thats exactly what we got. Staff wasnt overly friendly, but thats ok since I do not come to a place like this for the ambience. The pizza came fast, was delicious and the prices are rather cheap. Would definitely come back for another slice.

This pizza relies on the cheese too much. Sauce isn’t very good. Service has really gone downhill.

This pizza parlor has made it to my #1 list! The shop itself is very small, dark, and kinda old looking. If you’re looking to go on a fancy date, please don’t go here. BUT if your looking to impress your date with a spontaneous outta nowhere«I want pizza» here is the spot. Let me tell you why! I am a New Yorker and I’ve had amazing pizza out here in the East Coast and I could never really find anything in California that compares in taste. 1. Yes the pizza is thin BUT not thin to the point where the cheese is falling off and your pizza is coming apart. Thin but a perfect bite as you’re teeth clench together and the bread is not hard But SOFT. 2. So many variety of slices to choose from. I got 4 different types — Pesto(my favorites) — Vegetarian(fresh not overlooked vegetables) — Mushroom(lots of mushrooms on my slice they were not stingy with the shrooms) — Original Cheese The crust for each of these slices was fluffy and even though the slices were«thin» compared to NY thick crusts, the crust did not feel like you were eating flatbread but instead a cushion of juicy bread cooked with love. I can go on but please check it out :)

Not your gourmet. Objectively 3-stars but trends toward 5-stars the closer it gets to 2am. agree with a number of folks that the customer service is below average.

My interaction with the sole employee I encountered pretty much sums up my experience: Pizza lady: Yeah? Me: A combo slice, please. Pizza lady:(No response. Lazily plops a handful of grated cheese onto a pie slice that’s been sitting out for God knows how long. Sticks what I think is a slice in the oven.) Me: How much? Pizza lady: $ 8.89 Me: It says a slice is $ 3.49 Pizza lady: You said two slices. Me: I said no such thing. Pizza lady: I’m making you two slices. Me: I only ordered one. Pizza lady:(Sighs. Goes back and pulls large slice out of oven, cuts it in half and hands me a re-heated slice on a paper plate.) Me:(pays) By the way, the pizza tasted like crap.

Had a burger. Mediocre at best. Frozen patty, pre sliced cheese, lots of lettuce, frozen fries etc. Not TERRIBLE by any means, but certainly not good.

Visiting S.F. and did a night of «pizza by the slice» at three different establishments. None of them was better than Domino’s(or Little Ceasar’s, Round Table, or the like)…in fact, I’d give each of those chain establishments a 3.5. So, if you don’t like those, you’ll be even more disappointed than I was by these locally owned pizza places. All three rated only 3 stars, but each for different reasons. Pizza By The Slice was the lowest reviewed on Unilocal, and I’m not sure why. The slice was the cheapest of the three locations, but not notably lesser in quality… just very different. It was the most generous with toppings, but the crust/dough was more like a cracker than a typical pizza crust. At this location, I also tried the gelato. Decent, but a bit pricey. I’d settle for 31 flavors and Papa John’s.

Decent street pizza, came out hot. Staff could be a little friendlier since, you know, their livelihood depends on customers coming in but I get the whole«dive thing» so I wouldn’t worry about it. I recommend the sausage pizza.

Ugh. Sitting in my hotel room. A bit tipsy. Really hungry. Wanting a slice. I just can’t finish this one. It is so bad. Reminds me of microwaved leftover frozen pizza.

The worst pizza I’ve ever had. It was somehow raw in some parts and burnt black in others. The crust was very thin and tough, and the sauce was really sweet. Only thing worse than the pizza was the service. DONOTEATHERE !

Decided to try this cool hole-in-the wall place. It wasn’t very good pizza(ordered the pesto slice), but it was cheap. Would go here if I’m super hungry, but otherwise eh

$ 5 minimum to use your card. Not bad. The pizza was simple and nothing fancy. The guy who rang me up almost seemed bothered that I was the only customer in at the time to walk in while he was making a pizza. The gelato was good but not the best ice ever had. Didn’t need to be because at least this place had gelato. I thought it looked cleaner and nicer than any other pizza by the slice places so it gets 3 stars for doing that little bit more

This was an awesome little hole-in-the-wall gem. Let’s play a game called, «Why Did Haley Enjoy This Restaurant?» A) Because it wasn’t crowded. B) Because it was a lotta food for a litta money. C) Because the food was stellar. Haha, tricked ya! There is no wrong answer because it’s ALLOFTHEABOVE. Let’s dissect this, then go out to eat again. A) It wasn’t crowded. Really though, only a couple of people were there and our service was very quick and efficient too. The cashier got our order and brought the food to our counter lickity-split. It’s in a fun location too, we faced the sidewalk and totally were able to people watch while we inhaled our massive slices of pizza.(Oops, spoiler alert, that was supposed to be under bullet point B). B) We had MASSIVE slices of pizza for only $ 4. That’s the cheapest food I have been able to find my entire time in San Francisco. C) It was delicious. Thin crust that was slightly burnt; however, that gave it character. Between that and the tasty salami topping, there was absolutely nothing wrong. TIPS&TRICKS: * Besides great pizza, there were some other good lookin’ menu items. Vegetarian Falafals, chicken(wings, fingers, nuggets), fries, Philly Cheese Steaks, salads, and loads more. Whatever you’re craving, it seems like they have. * Pinch your pizza in half while you eat – you won’t look quite as touristy.
