Nice and friendly staff. However, the burrito I ordered tasted horrid and there was barely any meat or beans. The«super burrito» I basically got was filled with greasy rice, corn, peas, thick cheese. The entire time I was eating my burrito I was wondering when I will get a piece of meat again.

We had a great experience here. The super tacos were awesome– exceeded expectations. The service was wonderful– very friendly, & very clean. And the salsa was some of best we’ve ever had– flavorful with a hint of spice. Some people have been hating on this place but we can’t figure out why. We watched the Warriors game, got tacos, nachos, and drinks, and it’s everything we expect in a San Francisco hole in the wall at 9pm. Support this local place, it’s really great. We’ll be back!

They have pretty decent nachos. This place allow you to chose different meat of the nachos. Out of three Mexican restaurant this place have the best nachos.

Not that great of a wet burrito. Steak tacos were more burnt than well done. The tortillas they used and sauce was pretty good.

This place was awesome! My boyfriend ordered a torta de carne asada and it was delicious! Their Michelada was also delicious and only $ 5. Their horchata was slightly too«ricey» for me and the place is slightly gloomy. But overall their food was delicious.

Lengua lengua lengua! Oh their lengua is so good, I just wished they gave more lengua; it felt like I only had one scoop of lengua in one giant plate of taco salad! I need more meat in that salad man!!! Otherwise, this place tastes so good! Everything fresh! Portions big! Everything free refill if dining inn AND also free chips and salsa if dining inn!(:

The people that own this place are super friendly me and my family love coming over here on Saturdays and eating breakfast. Most of the food tastes great I would recommend getting the pozole, milanesa de pollo or chilaquiles

bad food! bad service! and now I discover they are rip offs. Went there had some sea food and a beer not bad so I recommended it to my sister… So one day I ask my sister for a steak burrito with whole pinto beans, I get my burrito and it has refried beans I call the place and walk it back when I get there the lady cook had a look on her face like she wanted to put me to sleep so i get a new one which was still lame… So just recently my sister goes back i don’t know why… and I get my burrito and it has refried beans ahhhh! my bad I forgot to ask for whole beans so i go to see if I can save it and remove the the refried beans and come to find out it was 50% beans 30% over cooked mushy rice 10% cold salsa and 5% flour tortilla and 5% boot leg al pastor(spicy pork) I wanted to like this place too when I first went there but this is crazy three burritos the same… maybe they were running low on meat? IDK bad call. you stealing my money. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

I love this place just as good as any place in the mission. Hand made salsa and tortillas are the bomb. I have had entrees, tacos to burritos and nothing has disappointed me. And as far as the wait, it is not to long and this isn’t fast food it is good traditional homemade Mexican.

After the catered a community meeting in the Portola, I thought I’d give them a try. Boy, am I happy I did. Great traditional Mexican food. We ordered the Taco Salad with chicken, the Mixed Ceviche, and the Goat Soup Jalisco style. It was all fantastic, but the ceviche was especially good. More importantly for me though, was the community engagement. It’s always great to give back to merchants who help and engage in the community.

If you looking for 100% AUTHENTIC Mexican food… this is the best place hands down… from Authetic Breakfast to tacos(Best carnitas & carne asada tacos in the city hands down) & what tops it all off… it’s the prices. it’s extremely cheap compared to the other«Famous» Taquerias… Go & Enjoy ;)

I asked for a super quesadilla with chicken. THEr GAVEMEBOILEDCHICKEN! The cheese tasted like nacho cheese and I barely had chicken in my quesadilla. It was EXTREMELYSOGGYWITH chunks of avocado by far the WORST I have EVER had.

the salsa that comes with the chips are a bit too spicy for me, but you can ask for milder salsa. i really enjoyed the burrito here, its delicious. the service can take a bit longer than other taquerias though

For the area its in its good. Since im Mexican I give alot of bad reviews on Mexican places I ate here for the first time a couple years ago I didn’t like it I had a burrito tasted old I never went vack. I gave it another chance and I was surprised I ordered the Birria and some tacos. They also have handmade tortillas which is my weakness. If you like birria and in the area this is a good place to try it it has the color and flavor. They take alittle long but then again there food is fresh. Not like my first time around. Theres another place one block away that I use to go to but since I been here I havent went back. The meat I like the most here is carne asada, bbq pork, and thier carnitas. The portions and prices make sense. Hope this helps

Tried this tonight because it was within walking distance from my apartment. I ordered the veggie burrito super minus the sour cream and my friend ordered the goat soup. I really enjoyed my burrito; whole beans — both black and pinto, everything tasted fresh and there was so much I had to bring ½ of it home. My friend really enjoyed the goat soup; it was served with lime, cilantro, and some onions. They also brought hot sauce to the table and my friend enjoyed this added to the soup. Good value for the food — I will definitely go back again!

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for years and I’m enjoying the food more than I did under the previous owner. Love that they’ve got Modelo, Blue Moon & Sierra on tap and it’s ice cold. I’ve only had burritos & soft tacos and my biggest issue is consistency… The new owner is always friendly and the place is clean. I love that it’s close and I’d have given another star for better consistency… that being said it’s most definitely better than the other places within walking distance but I’d love some fresh Pico de gallo. I’d give it 3.5& if they had fresh pico de gallo or salsa I’d bump it up

Love that it’s family owned and that the owner and his wife make all the food themselves. They really care, and make delicious burrittos. Also helps that its just across the street from my house! Great spot. Maybe could use some more decoration though? Some cool art on the walls? :) Used to go get my burritos at cinco de mayo, but no more. This place is cheaper, and more delicious! And i love helping a small business.

The smell drew me in and I became a fan. I was actually surprised because I didn’t expect good Mexican food in the Portola. It’s more Asian-centric than Hispanic-centric in my hood, so I had low expectations. So I tried their enchilada platter with refried beans and rice and an horchata. The verdict: nom, nom, nom… The enchiladas were extra cheesy and I can tell they used real homemade mole(with chile ancho), not the canned kind. The rice was a teensy bit dry but I mixed it with my beans so it didn’t bother me much. I probably wouldn’t come here for burritos because I think other taquerias like El Faro do it better, but their platters are definitely noteworthy. Plus, they have ample seating which is scare in Portola because the restaurants tend to be so small. But not here — another win!
