Much better now that they have an attendant all the time. The machines are in pretty good shape, but it is a bit expensive and the sitting options in there are limited. Overall pretty good for what it is. Could be a bit cheaper and/or more comfortable.

Disresctful, dishonest and incompetent Recently under new ownership, according to a large banner over the door, this laundromat has begun to do alterations. I brought two items belonging to my girlfriend for minor alterations — replacement of a hem on a skirt, and fixing a small hole where stitching had come undone. The seemingly nice woman on duty filled out a slip, which stated the price for the alterations as $ 10, and said the items would be ready in one week(obviously a long time for such a simple job, but no hurry so no worry). My girlfriend arrived to pick up the items, bearing the return receipt. The woman on duty stated that it would now be $ 15 for the items citing her copy of the receipt on which $ 10 had been crossed out and replaced with $ 15. No explanation was provided as to why the increase in price. After saying she would pay $ 10 as per the written receipt, my girlfriend was called«a stupid little bitch.» Shockingly offensive and unprofessional. Also, not a good way to get the extra $ 5 you are inexplicably demanding. Finally, when the items were retrieved from the icy grasp of the insulting employee, we noticed that they had not even fixed the hole in one of the items. The additional $ 5 is even more mysterious in light of the fact that they actually did less than they promised. Given the fact that this business is run by rude, unprofessional and entirely incompetent people, I shall never return and would strongly advise any person considering using this business for any purpose to go somewhere else.

Everything has changed as of May 2015, the homeless have been kicked out and the new owner has redecorated the place and installed staff on duty all open hours — she is very sweet as well. You can still do your own laundry, but they also offer full service and alterations as well.

Someone is always on duty and there to help. They do drop off as well. Nice quiet place to wait for your clothes in peace. Normal rate to wash clothes like all other laundromats.

Despite their posted hours at L&C Laundromat at 68114th St in San Francisco, they closed early on July 5th2013 when I had stepped out intending to return before closing time and they locked up the place despite their posted notices. How consumer friendly, better business practice is that? Laundry hostage? I was able to get my laundry the next morning, but things like locking up the night before against their posted notice so I can’t get my laundry raises questions that poorer people who are more or less forced to used their absent on site supervision should consider.

What’s not to like about the 1970s fake wood paneling and the ancient«Speed Queen» tumble dryers. Alas, though. I have twice had my clothes stolen there(once even while still wet). So be careful and don’t leave them too long.

This laundromat is the closest one to our house, so it’s where we go, being convenient and all. It’s a simple, quiet, pretty standard place to do laundry, with no bar music, like some have. It’s not a large facility, but larger than the one we used when we lived in Hayes Valley. It’s been a few weeks, and most everything has gone well. Tonight, two washers did bad things(one went through all cycles, except the spin cycle, leaving the clothes drenched, and costly to dry; the other did not actually wash the clothes, but seems to have filled somewhat with water and drained and spinned. The clothes had the original line from the soap, and were either completely dry or not very wet.) Also, some homeless people go in and count/sort on the counter occasionally. No one has been disturbed so far as I can tell. Laundry, being a thing that should be kept as efficient and diligent as possible, will probably keep me going back unless there’s a major screw up(multiple incidents such as the one tonight will probably do it), but for now, this is fine.
