The pop up restaurant concept is so interesting to me, and I think Feastly does a great job with it. I attended a «dinner party» with Geoff in Dogpatch. The location spot was lovely and intimate. The food was exquisite. I highly recommend doing the wine pairing, it truly did enhance some of the dishes we had that night. Pros: the entire experience itself is what made me feel it deserves five stars. The fact that Geoff prepares what he catches earlier that day and spends the entire day with his team preparing these dishes for us is mind-blowing! You can see his dedication to his work from miles away. All the dishes were cooked to perfection. My favorite was the striped sea bass– it was, hands down, the best fish I have ever had in my entire life. Cons: truly bummed when I saw pork was one of the dishes of the night. I don’t eat pork and so I had to waste an entire dish because of that. I wish there was option on Feastly to check off dietary restrictions, but I suppose the concept is that if you are attending an event like this, you are expected to be open to trying everything. It was still a disappointment. Would I go again? Absolutely. I’m hoping Feastly expands nation-wide!

Highly recommended. We held a private holiday dinner at Ichido. Was an amazing experience — the food was delicious and perfectly presented. The wines were well paired. One of the best dining experiences you will have in San Francisco

This was an amazing experience. I was lucky enough to snag the last two tickets for a dinner in the two short days we were in San Fran. My husband and I were visiting from Seattle. I was little worried as my husband does not have a very adventurous pallet. Geoff prepared every course in front of us. He invited us up to watch take pictures ask questions and be a big part of the dinner. The environment was very intimate and beautiful. We enjoyed visiting with the other table mates. We enjoyed the six course meal and loved the entire(3 to 4 hour) experience. My husband not being very adventurous also loved the dinner and the experience of the drop in restaurant. We quickly have become big fans and definitely want to do it again! I would encourage anyone to purchase tickets right away and enjoy this amazing meal and night out. It is definitely one for the memory banks. Thank you!

This was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. Ichido is a pop-up restaurant, meaning it takes over other restaurant spaces for each dinner. You book through Feastly, which allows you to buy tickets for the dinner event in advance, so there’s no payments day of. You’re sent the address of the dinner, reminded to bring your own wine(seafood features prominently, plan accordingly), and you show up. Simple. Ichido is Geoff, a chef, artist and fisherman. Geoff catches, forages, prepares and serves dinner himself, and it is unbelievable. On the day I visited Ichido, a wonderful rockfish featured in the delicious and creative course of sashimi trio, and featured as well on a beautiful print on Geoff’s shirt. Yes, he made a print on a shirt of the fish he caught that day and later served to us. Geoff’s menus vary according to what he’s caught and what he has curing(the best boquerones I’ve EVER had were served atop beautifully seasoned soba noodles with oven dried tomatoes and other delicious things), which makes each dinner that much more perfect. Geoff introduces each course as he finishes plating it, where he caught the fish, what inspired the dish(I’d call Ichido northern California-influenced Japanese cuisine, but the personal attention to detail makes me feel like I should call it Geoff-inspired cuisine because I’ve never had a restaurant meal quite so delicious or full of heart). Ichido is a special thing. There’s nothing quite like eating a fish caught TODAY by the person preparing it for you. Buy tickets today before Geoff gets too famous.

Wow! If you want to be thanked repeatedly by friends and family, bring them to Ichido! That’s what happened to me. Get a seat now before he becomes famous. Because I’m sure he will. I’ve never been a huge fan of Japanese food until I tasted his creative dishes. It’s more than dinner. It’s an experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by — Menus on beatiful paper he must have burned the edges of himself. — Live toy-sized crabs in seaweed. I was scared we were going to eat them live. Instead before every course, he: — Told us how he caught the seafood sustainably by hand and how they’re rarely served in restaurants. — Showed us how he artfully prepares each entrée. That’s why I wish all restaurants were like Ichido. Please be green and bring your own takeout container because you’ll be so stuffed, you’ll want to bring home leftovers! I’m grateful his fancy food is much more affordable than over-priced restaurants! Geoffrey is a very generous owner and chef, AND an artist. And you’ll treat all your senses if you visit Ichido.

I attended a dinner by Geoff last night. What a superb meal and overall experience! It was amazing to know that he himself caught the seafood that morning, and then came up with an incredibly creative menu based on what he caught. He prepared a stingray in front of us before grilling it, which was fascinating. Every dish was creative, flavorful, and exuisitely presented. I especially enjoyed the super cute and crunchy porcelain crab; the smoky and succulent stingray; and the delicious vegetable okonomiyaki. And who could forget chocolate tofu whipped into a mousse! I loved the meal, thank you Geoff.

Man, Chef Geoff was amazing! He came to our house for a private event and cooked an amazing 6-Course Japanese Fusion meal… Everything was so fresh and the flavors were delicious! I would definitely work with Geoff again and will be referring business to him! FYI — He’s a crazy outdoorsman as well! Ha ha you can call him if you want to learn how to fish!

Everything about the meal was absolutely impeccable. Each aspect of the meal was fantastic: the food, the company, to being able to interact with Geoff. Geoff is an amazing chef, he fishes and forages for most of the ingredients himself, and the freshness of the ingredients really shines throughout the meal. Each dish was creative, inventive, flavorful, beautiful, and absolutely delicious. Overall it was a fantastic experience, it was one of the best meals that I have had in a long time!

I have attended two of Geoff’s events so far( ) and plan to attend more! He is a wonderful host and an even more amazing chef! His enthusiasm on all he does(from the discussing his fishing adventures, creating artwork prints of his catches and the food preparation) really shows in his work. I heartily recommend going to one of Geoff’s dinners if you want to experience the freshest seafood prepared in wonderful ways. His dinners are served either family style or plated individually depending on the style of the meal. He doesn’t just work with seafood. I had a delicious Pork Belly/Waffle combination that was out of this world. He had just won a Bacon vs Bacon vs Bacon competition with this dish and I can see how. I have also enjoyed meeting the people who attended. One couple on my first dinner with Geoff had just arrived from Stockholm, Sweden for a week vacation in SF. This was their first dinner in the states — great choice guys!

My husband moonlights as a fisherman, so that’s how he met Geoff, and they became fast friends. He mentioned to me that he had a pop-up kitchen and that he’d love for us to come to one. Since we don’t get out much(well, over the bridge and into the city without three kids in tow), it crossed my mind that it could be just the unique adventure we needed to spark up «date night.» When my husband came home with a jar of the most insanely delicious pickled veggies, which Geoff had made, and then a bottle of his ponzu, I made a reservation on for the Seasonal Japanese Supper and enlisted the grandparents to babysit. It was a delightful experience. Each course(which, btw, went well beyond the 4 – 5 listed on the menu) was unique and delicious. In between, it was great fun engaging in interesting discussions with our table mates and watching Geoff work his magic — a master of seafood and sauces and pretty much anything he catches/forages. We brought kombucha and so did another couple, so we had fun tasting each others’ home brews. Our only regret was that because there were so many courses and we couldn’t make my mom stay up any later, we had to leave before dessert was served… but Geoff was so kind that he gave us a to-go box of the second to last course: an out-of-this-world pork belly dish(leftover his victory at the bacon vs. bacon vs. bacon challenge the previous evening), which we enjoyed in our kitchen at home shortly before midnight when we turned into pumpkins… full of food, but not stuffed. Ichido is definitely going into our rotation of monthly(or more, if we can sneak them in) date nights. Geoff is a culinary artist and formidable fisherman — he has inspired my husband(we now eat stingray/skate, thanks to Geoff’s tip on preparing it) and blessed us with his bounty, creatively cooked to perfection(if there was such a thing this side of heaven).

I can’t even begin to tell you how out of this world, delicious, unforgettable, and flavorful our five course meal was. Geoffrey has some serious talent and not only could I not stop eating, I couldn’t stop talking about how amazing his meal was while I was eating it. Chef Geoffrey covers all bases: flavors, textures, colors, freshness, the whole shebang; it’s ALL there. We started off with an okonomiyaki which Chef Geoff made SO well, every ingredient had a purpose. So delicious! Next up was the monkeyface eel(which if you’ve ever seen pictures of one, the little guys always look so worried and it’s probably because they know they are super delicious). The presentation was beyond stunning and each buttery and flakey piece of the eel dipped in a homemade ponzu sauce was everything you can imagine and more. Freaking delicious. Friend and I visited Chef Geoffrey in the kitchen and chatted with him a bit on his background and passion for food. I’m always fascinated by what drives someone and how their background influences their cooking and lifestyle. The main course was stingray with crispy brussels sprouts, and mushroom rice. I know I already said this, but I can’t even tell you how delicious this meal was. One bite after another, I stuffed myself until it hurt. The strawberry miso crème brûlée was fantastic, so savory, subtly sweet, and a great flavor profile. I wished I had another even though I probably couldn’t have eaten another(my eyes are always significantly bigger than my stomach). What a wonderful dinner, I can’t wait to sign up for his other meals and repeat this one a hundred times. Since I can’t give him ten hundred bajillion stars on Unilocal,I’ll have to settle for five :)

Goeff is a phenomenal talent. You’ll be amazed at the freshness, presentation, professionalism, and most importantly, deliciousness. Absolutely the next big underground SF chef, book a seat at his next meal before it’s impossible to. Hands down, one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I’ve ever had.

We found FishinKitchen on Feastly, and boy, were we in for a treat. I wasn’t sure what to expect, which made it 10x better. Printing fish as an art before you eat it really make adds to the appreciation. It felt like a private chef’s table dinner, where Geoffrey cooked as we marveled. We ate the food right as he cooked it. It was literally, fantastic. It hands down tastes better than some Michelin recommended restaurants I’ve eaten at. I would suggest booking with Geoffrey while he is up and coming, and a very kind and personable man. Food portions and quality was out of this world, and at such a great price. A steal deal as they say, especially in SF.
