The steak is perfect. Great service, nice old jazz. Classic and great

Been 6 years since eating here and happy to report that Bob’s is still a great place for steak. We each had the largest fillet mignon which was HUGE and cooked to perfection. If you want a superb steak, Bob’s is the place to go. Salad, potato, and signature carrot very good, too. Service was cordial and attentive. The entire experience deserves 5 stars.

Went to a 3 day seminar at the Omni hotel where this restaurant is located. I had breakfast here all three days. Two of the days were fantastic and one of the days was not very good. Here’s my experience. .. On the first day, I had a waitress named Natalie. Not only was she friendly, but super professional and on top of things. The eggs Benedict was outstanding. In addition to the eggs benedict, there were some very good fried potatoes, a shot glass of strawberry smoothie, and a little chocolate cake. The coffee was rich and smooth. Excellent breakfast and worth the $ 32. On the second day, I had another waiter(and maybe another chef?) and the food was not as good. The eggs benedict lacked sufficient hollandaise sauce(very dry) and this time, no sweet bite of cake or the little smoothie. I had to ask for a little more hollandaise and they charged me an extra $ 2 for it. This made me a little angry as I was spending $ 30 for breakfast yet didn’t get the same great meal as previously — and I had to pay extra? The $ 6 Coffee service was also not as prompt. I certainly didn’t feel like it was a special breakfast. Oh, and I forgot to mention that as a single female dinner who had tipped very well the previous morning, I was stuck in the corner near the kitchen.(Although the restaurant was empty) However, later on, a single male came in and was seated at one of the window tables. Hmmm. .. All in all, a very disappointing experience. On the third day, I requested to be seated in Natalie’s section, and Lo and behold, the breakfast was outstanding(was given all the little extras) and the eggs benedict had plenty of hollandaise sauce. Coffee was kept flowing and it was a great experience. Based on days one and three, I would have given this five stars. Bottom line, the food was excellent, but the service was spotty. If you can, request Natalie. She’s the best waitress at this redtaurant and will make sure your meal and experience are great. As for lunch and dinner, I have no idea if they’re any good, but based on their breakfast, I would guess those meals to be excellent as well.

I ordered the 9 oz filet mignon and it was just OK. It came out drier and less seasoned than I expected with no wow factor. I’ve had a lot of steak in my life but unfortunately I wasn’t impressed but I really wanted to! The smashed potatoes and sweet cinnamon carrot were delicious. Fried calamari was very tasty too! Booker our waiter was EXCELLENT! Very patient, funny, and was tentative throughput our entire meal. His service alone is why I’d come give Bobs Steakhouse another try.

Bob’s had a nice quaint ambiance. Dining hall separate from the bar withing the Omni Hotel. With a ground floor view in San Francisco’s financial district of well aged towering architecture. The table servers were friendly and we’ll attentive. I tried the Kansas Ribeye which was excellent. And ordered the Fillet Mignon which was very light and well cooked. Skillet potatoes were seasoned well with a slight crisp and a full bodied peppercorn brown gravy. Even the carrot had a nice glaze with a hint of cinnamon. Bravo and well played.

I came here for lunch to catch up with my professor. He recommended that we come to this place because the food is good, service is excellent, and there is never a wait during lunch time in the heart of Financial District. This place is inside Omnia Hotel but you can enter from the street on California and Montgomery. The service here is excellent. Our waiter was polite and respectful and made sure he never interrupted us in a middle of a conversation. It was not overbearing at all. I decided to go for Bob’s Cob Salad. The salad is huge and it is literally two meals! You get to choose which dressing you want and I chose the vinaigrette. You also get to decide if you want dungeneous crab or grilled chicken breast and of course, i went for the crab. The crab is the same price as the chicken so that is a plus! Overall, I would definitely come back. It is a perfect quiet place for a business meeting or for a nice meal.

This review is for the corner bar inside the Omni. Super sweet server and bartender. Mixed drinks are pricey though. I love Moscow Mules, but this place made a nasty one. Take my word for it. Yack! Atmosphere is cozy and warm and there is plenty of view on this little corner. Also ordered dessert. Portions are enormous!!! My friend ordered the carrot cake wedge and it was seriously equivalent to a quarter of a cake! I had a slice of key lime pie which was twice the size of most servings. Wasn’t that great. Too sweet.

Service was really good, and the food was delicious! It was a bonus for since we were staying in the hotel. We didn’t have to go far for some good food and strong drinks! The«dirty Bob“and«Texas Pecan Pie» are a must try! We will be back!

Last night, I ordered 6 crunchy onion rings and ate them all. That’s how tasty they are. The batter is different than the typical batter — it’s Bob’s secret recipe. The rings are between 3 – 4 inches in diameter — a yummy size. My favorite part is that they’re not greasy(one of my pet peeves is greasy fried food). Of course, I had to accompany my rings with ketchup and a diet Coke — unhealthy food seems to always taste better accompanied by a diet Coke. The service is great — the restaurant is highly attentive. The hostess offered and bought me the newspaper, one attendant brought me warm bread and butter, and yet another attendant brought me a jar of their pickled bell peppers and pickles. Yum — the pickled red bell peeped are new to me. I recommend Bob’s and the onion rings. Enjoy.

Had a business dinner here last Monday. In spite of being inside the Omni hotel, it is not your typical hotel restaurant. My piece de resistance was the 9oz filet mignon medium rare. It was perfect. The service was impeccable, the wine list robust. If you want a steak dinner experience in San Francisco you will not be disappointed

Lunch time craze in the Financial District! Perfectly nestled on the corner of California & Montgomery lays Bob’s Steak & Chophouse. This place is the Financial Districts’s hidden lunchtime gem. Great service Generous portions Tons of options A little pricey Did I mention you can top off any meal with foie gras or fresh crab? Hit up the bar and check out their sandwich of the week. This week I had the Sam Adams Octoberfest Beer Braised Short Rib Sandwich! Ahhh-mazing. At this rate, I’ll never get my abs back!

It was last minute but I was able to get a cocktail in the bar. And then get a table for dinner The ny sirloin was cooked perfectly and had a great spice flavor to it. High end steak house that delivers on the atmosphere, great food and Excellent service.

Excellent service that was attentive, without being smothering. Had the 12 ounce NY Strip, medium rare, and that was excellent. Couldn’t categorize this as an elite steak house, but it’s a solid 4 star restaurant. Like some other reviewers, I just don’t get the glazed carrot, but it was good.

Amazingly mediocre! Don’t waste your time or money here. While the steak was a good cut and cooked reasonably well, the rest of the meal was worthy of a great buffet. One of our meals was overcooked while the carrot«feature» on every plate is comical. The beefsteak tomato was wrong in so many ways it’s not a worth describing. It’s a shame we took so many fine personal endorsements in trust. In a major league city you can’t play sand lot ball, and then charge major league prices. Strike, you’re out!

Could not be happier with the food and service! I had requested a quieter area of the restaurant for myself and my aging father and they completely accommodated this request. In addition, lunch was delicious and a more than fair price for a petite filet which also came with soup, salad, and dessert. At the end of the lunch they brought out a beautiful dessert for his birthday as well. Thanks for keeping it classy for my Dad’s birthday.

We were really impressed with the food and service here. This was our first meal upon arriving to San Francisco(we stayed at the Omni) and our experience could not have been better. We started with the bread and split a wedge salad. The bread was served quickly and was warm, soft, and chewy, just the way we like it! The wedge was delicious as well. We really liked our entrees. My husband and I both ordered the filet with the scallops. We both thought our meals were tasty. The filets were juicy and flavorful. The scallops were wonderful as well. My son ordered the kid’s chicken tenders, and he really enjoyed his meal too. We were already thinking about dessert half way through our meal. My son and I thought the carrot cake sounded great. We were surprised how big our slice of cake was when it arrived. This piece was huge! The cake was delicious as well. One of the better pieces of carrot cake we’d had in a while. The service was great here too. The food was brought out fairly quickly, and they made sure to check on us often. Everyone was so nice and helpful here. For a wonderful meal in the financial district, Bob’s Steak and Chop House is a good stop when visiting the area. The food and service were great here!

I wanted to like this place because I like places like this. I asked questions about ingredients on the menu and how things are cooked. The waitress immediately identified me as trouble and it just went downhill from there. The waitress kept answering«Nope» or «Yep» when I asked specific questions and she refused to verify things will the kitchen — saying they were too busy(even though the restaurant was only ½ full.) She was wrong. I got sick and eventhough I complained and they removed the food, I still paid for the meal – or I should point out my colleague did. I’ve always steered clear of restaurants inside of hotels because they are much more focused on volume than personal service. This is no exception and a bad choice on my part. Bummer.

Very attentive host Server and staff– are awesome and tend to your every need Ambiance was mellow not too many people yet not so empty Style all over! The place is a well decorated, Leather and dark woods all around — polished silver and dark burgundy colors all around — My server suggested the Brownie Sunday and I loved it — I ate enough for two people but don’t regret it — I will definitely be back for some more steak and to explore more of the menu !

I had high expectations for this steak house because it’s in the SF FiDi area. I’ve only been here once and I feel that this steak house is super overpriced and mediocre tasting.

The BF took me here for our anniversary dinner on a Saturday night. It was recommended to us by a random guy we met on the plane and he raved about this place. Surprisingly, it was very empty. Our server, Shelley, provided fantastic service. We started with the calamari. It wasn’t too good in our opinion. The bread and butter that was provided to us was the best we’ve had anywhere. We also went with a bottle of the Davis family vineyard’s Pinot noir. Delish! The BF ordered the 12 oz filet mignon with baked potato and a side of creamed corn. I had the pork«ribs» chop with the side of smashed potatoes. The creamed corn and smashed potato was yummy. We were really full by the time we got to our entrees.
