Don’t waste your money here! They offer over priced food, Poor quality, and service that is reminiscent of them flipping you off. $ 13.95 for a nacho appetizer that clearly looks like the cheese was microwaved, an extra $ 5 for shredded chicken that maybe was put on ¼ of the plate, and $ 20 burgers that would make you rather buy a $ 6 burger at Carl’s JR. You are paying for the name here. They don’t pay attention to your order, we had to send back 2 orders, including my kids order, because they got them wrong. We actually had to tell the servers if it was our food or not because they couldn’t figure out which table to serve. I asked for a refill of my coke twice… I never got my refill. I asked for my kids refill of milk twice, ended up asking another server since my server never brought it. I asked for ketchup… I ended up having to pull off another table because they kept forgetting it. It was a horrible experience all together. And yes, we spoke with them, got no apologies. They said they were busy, but there were 2 tables full around us and the rest of the 10+ were empty. Hmm… Take your business to the back of pier 39, way better food, way better prices and way better service. Hard Rock lost a customer.

Average Hard Rock food, terrible service. We had reservations on Valentine’s, food took an hour and a half to arrive. Food was mediocre and pretty small servings compared to similar restaurants around SF. Fudge Brownie was amazing and wine list was great! But overall, would not return because we would not want to wait so long for food, bad service, and restrooms that are too small for the number of patrons. Always a restroom line!

Went here and watched the superbowl(go Peyton!!) With family. I’d never been to a Hard rock before so I was kinda expecting more than a glorified Applebee’s. There’s not like a lot of cool interactive stuff as I expected. It’s basically a big open space with seating and cool stuff on the wall. I think the group beside us ate some ecstacy. They were dry humping and grinding on each other and had their own boom box and we’re dancing around engaging all the people around with weird drunkenness and alcohol fueled sexuality. My 12 yr old didn’t really mind of course and after about 10 IPAs neither did i. I think the food was ok. I’ve been on the stool all day today though so something got to me. I’ll probably go back when I want to pre-game some bad decision making.

I will say the jumbo sampler was good and the twisted Mac was amazing. Our waiter was annoying. He talked too much and sat on the bench next to my husband when we were placing our order which made it weird. The cocktails are weak. I did like the music and the videos that played while we ate. Definitely not a quite dinner place. But overall not bad just your greasy food.

After visiting the super bowl city, friends and me walked to pier 39 and landed up at Hard Rock Café for a few drinks. As we entered, was welcomed by the host and she seated us next to the entrance so we kindly requested to seat us elsewhere so she was like take the menus and sit 2 tables away. So we started moving and some uninformed crew member comes running and starts to speak in a high pitch saying that you can’t do that as it might be reserved for someone else. You need to inform the host. Once seated we started browsing the menu and we see that there are no prices on the menu for the drinks. This is totally not acceptable and when I asked my server about it, he says that they all are different prices in a rude tone. Why the hell does such a huge brand not show their drink prices on the menu? What if after I order the drink, in the check i see they charged me 50 $. That is a very smart way to fool customers. The drinks and food were not outstanding as well. I just had a few drinks and left asap, a very disappointing experience.

The service was great, this review is no reflection of the service… But the food was awful. The most bland and boring food I have literally ever had at a restaurant. The price is high for what you get, the value is just not there. I ordered the chicken club and that’s what it was… A bland chicken breast with bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on mildly toasted bread. $ 16. Husband ordered a cheeseburger, unseasoned beef, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, and bun. $ 18 The fries were, basic fries but good. Now we know.

As soon as I came in I felt welcome by whom I am assuming is the manager. Wish I had go his name! He was really cool and sat me and my friend down. He was training a girl at the same time. The waiter was cool, he explained to me some of the beers and thats why I got the flight. The food was kinda pricey but they give a little military discount so it evened out a bit. I got the Cowboy Rib Eye, with mashed potatoes, twisted Mac, and grilled asparagus. Asparagus wasn’t on the menu but I asked if they had it and he said yeah so they threw it on the grill for me :) My friend Bri got a cocktail that was super sweet but she said it was good for her. The place itself is pretty big and there is a retail shop right before you walk in the restaurant area. The bar seemed like it was a good size and from what I could tell everyone was super cool and nice. I had a pretty good experience here. We got here around 11. We ate here on Christmas day and it was actually pretty nice. We got there when it wasn’t too packed which was a PLUS. Customer Service was great, however, we did have to wait a bit for our food. By the time we got our food it had gotten super crowded and so we kind of just waited around for our bill to be brought out to us to where we had to get up and ask again. It was a good experience. mainly spending time with my cousin from Australia — and it wasn’t half bad. Major plus was that it was open on Christmas Day. I don’t remember anything on the menu too much aside that they offer a local twist on burgers… The ambiance is cool :)

I had the opportunity to dine here recently and the experience wasn’t so good. There was a mixup as to who was taking care of our table and we weren’t even greater until 20 minutes after we were sat. I thought that was a fluke but the service continued to be super slow through the remainder of our visit. We were not offered refills or even condiments and had 4 different people handling our table. We had no idea who our server was. When we asked for condiments we were told to ask our server but again, had no idea who that was. When my chicken arrived it was raw. We called the manager over he inspected it and he imminently took it away while he apologized profusely. They compensated our bill and offered us gift cards to come back and try Hard Rock another times. We graciously accepted the offer. I think that was really considerate of them so I decided to hold off on my review until we gave them another chance. We decided to try Hard Rock again and had an exceptional experience. Everything from the food to the waitstaff and cocktails were on point! We were seated promptly, our server was extremely attentive and on top of everything. When the food come out it was so delicious! The burgers were cooked perfectly and we enjoyed our experience. We have been back 3 times since the negative experience and have had nothing but great experiences. I now see Hard Rock as a go to place. I would bring my friends and family here because they have showed me that mistakes happen and how you handle them is what matters. HR more than made up for the one disappointing experience we had. Can’t wait to come back again!

Needed a bite after a few hours of getting tattooed and Hard Rock was just too convenient to the Amtrak bus stop. Literally thirty feet to the door. Entering the place took us through the«boutique». Everything HR branded for one’s spending pleasure. But we were here for some quick grub. Lucky for us «Ernesto» was our server. He understood we needed to catch the bus and asked how much time we had. Within three minutes Ernesto supplied beers, and four minutes after the drinks landed the loaded potato skins hit the table. Yes, under ten minutes and we had food and drink. Of course it helped that it was a Tuesday evening and not crowded, but Ernesto took our time limitations seriously and provided superior service. Ok, great service but what about the food? My Speakeasy ale was cold and flavorful. Our potato skins were very good! We were surprised at how tasty they were. Lots of bacon, green onions, and not at all greasy. While our visit was very short, we enjoyed this place enough to give it another shot next time we’re in SF.

It’s hard to beat a Hard Rock Café. They are pretty consistent anywhere you go and visit. We were in San Francisco walking along the Embarcadero and spotted one in the pier 39 area. So we walked over to check out the menu for lunch. It looked good. Yes, it’s a tourist trap but, what the heck we chose to eat there anyway. The atmosphere is really cool and the food and drinks are good. We enjoyed it very much. Don’t come here expecting to get the great SF seafood. You’ll have to wait in lines to get that. Just come here expecting to be treated like a tourist and you’ll enjoy it a whole lot more.

So I made reservations for a group party of 56 and first of all, I want to comment on the customer service. My friend ordered a bacon cheese burger plain and the waiter named Alexandra refused to put in a plain order. She told him to take it off himself. When my friend asked her why couldn’t the kitchen make it plain she gave him attitude. When she asked us what we wanted to drink and my friend order a Sprite and a water she seemed to get stressed out over this simple request. Then as Alexandra was handing one of my friend a drink another drink on her tray fell and spilled. She panicked and shoved my friends water and aggressively said«Here! take it take it!» Fast forward to the actual food. Me and my friend ordered the red roasted pasta and it was cold. We asked a different waiter if we could get another plate with actual hot pasta and we got cold pasta again. I appreciate the effort but I was highly disappointed considering each one of our party paid $ 20 each for this. Overall, the customer service was really bad because we received attitude and eye rolling every time we asked for a straw or a refill. Won’t be holding a group party here anymore.

I expected more from Hard rock. the atmosphere like the other is nice. The service, a different story. Our server was extremely slow, and wasn’t apologetic at all. The food was lukewarm when served. The drinks were watered down and not tasty. I wouldn’t return here unless I am not the one paying.

Wow, what a great meal, it’s a touch loud, but I love rock and roll so I was totally into it. I had the lagendary burger, pink in the middle came out cooked perfectly, great food great music, great service. If you love rock and tool and good food you have to check it out. Place was clean and fantastic things on the wall, do your self a favor and check it out.

After wandering around Pier 39 and trying to make a decision of what to eat. We stopped at the Hard Rock Café since all of the other places that sell seafood had long lines. Hard Rock did not have a long line. We were able to be seated immediately. YAY! When we left the restaurant, this was not the case for other people who were waiting in line to be seated. On the bright side, while your waiting in line you are in their retail gift shop and can do a little Hard Rock shoppping. The service was good. Our server was super attentive even though the restaurant was busy. We had a birds eye view of the many TV’s and were delighted to see actual music videos playing on the TV’s. The noise level was a little high but it was a fun atmosphere. The food was about what to be expected. Their mixed drinks– yeah, they were tasty! I had the Mac n Cheese. This was tasty. And the serving size was generous enough to have me lugging home a bunch of leftovers. The restrooms were clean. Bonus points for that especially on a super busy Saturday afternoon.

Came here Saturday around 6 pm after the cherry blossom festival in Japantown. We where seated 40 minute later and that good for a Saturday any where on pier 39. Me and my gf both ordered the chicken and ribs which comes with fries, the chicken was lukewarm and the ribs where dry. I should know better then to eat on the pier cause I know they rush the food to get the next customer in. Going to be awhile before I eat on the pier again. Service was great but there was to many good places to eat in SF away from pier 39.

I came here a week ago and had their salmon dish that came with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. The salmon was delicious, but I was very disappointed with the sides. The mashed potatoes tasted more like mashed cheese and the«mixed veggies» was just a pile of green beans! My husband ordered the mac n cheese dish and it was super bland. As for service, our waitress forgot about us for a long time. When she finally came by near the end of our meal, she asked us if we wanted our checks. We said, yes, but we really need more water. She nodded and left. She then returned with the check but no water. Then we asked for water again and she just smiled and walked away. When she came back to retrieve the check(still with no water), we had to demand it and she said, «Oh okay, sure no prob, I’ll bring some water.» She needs to work on her listening skills. Literally, 1 star for good salmon.

A fun place to go get some American food in a touristy spot and admire all of the music memorabilia. We were seated right away in a gigantic booth by a friendly, witty guy who was surprised we braved the slight drizzle outside without coats or umbrellas. Our waiter saw us right away and was fantastic on answering questions, checking on us throughout our time there, and making sure we were taken care of. I ordered a specialty burger that was on the menu that had part of the purchase go towards feeding hungry kids. It was called the Babylon. I’ve forgotten what was on it, but it was delicious and oversized. The fries were great too. My friend’s chicken burger was perfect, he reported. A Unilocal check-in deal popped up for a free appetizer or dessert on my cell, and when I mentioned this to the waiter, and said no problem and didn’t require that I show him my phone. We got dessert and ordered the brownie which was freaking huge! It was in an oversized martini glass standing at a foot tall with Ben & Jerry’s vanilla, fudge, whipped cream and a cherry over a hot brownie. We were nowhere near finishing it. After we were done eating and paid for the meal, we walked around to view all of the autographed guitars, platinum and gold records, the clothes, etc. It was a lot of fun and very interesting to us. You have to walk through the store to get to the restaurant, which has all of the traditional Hard Rock tees, along with other souvenirs. The bar area looked pretty inviting. We don’t drink so we didn’t hang out over there, but it looked pretty hipster. Our waiter offered to validate our garage parking for us. The parking garage is expensive and it’s either that or a paid lot. Getting the validation took a chunk of change off the cost which was pretty sweet. Food: 5 Service: 5 Ambiance: 5 Parking: 3

After taking a ferry tour of the Golden Gate we opted to warm up by hitting Hard Rock for some warm food and cocktails. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and seated quickly. This was a safe bet restaurant for the hubs who has a shellfish allergy and other pier food options are risky. The inside is a standard for the chain with memorabilia on the walls and music videos playing on TVs throughout. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful. To help with the warming up process I got a white Sangria, which was very good. The husband opted for the red Sangria, which was also good! For food I almost always go with the Twisted Mac and Cheese when I’m here. As per usual, this is what I ordered and it was just as good as it always is. I’d recommend this dish to people who are pasta fans and lovers of comfort foods. We skipped dessert since we wanted to try some other options found nearby on the pier. We also forgot to get our parking validated, but when we went back in, our server remembered us and was quick to help us out! Overall: A Not a bad place to pick up some grub and drinks while visiting the pier!

Overall, if you are in the area or visiting Pier 39, the Hard Rock Café is an affordable option. However, with many other restaurants at Pier 39 and on the wharf, I’d look elsewhere. Since we haven’t been in the Fisherman’s Wharf area for a while, we decided to play tourist for the day and check out the area and finish off the day with dinner at Hard Rock. At one time we used to make an effort to stop by a Hard Rock while traveling domestically and internationally to dine and/or buy a souvenir t-shirt. But, I’m glad that phase of my life is history. Hard Rock’s menu is standard American fare consisting of salads, fish/meat entrees, BBQ, sandwiches and burgers. We opted for: New York Strip Steak– a USDA choice 28-day aged 12-oz New York strip steak topped with maître d’ butter and served with hash brown waffles and green beans. Cooked medium rare as ordered, but felt the steak was not that tender. Hickory-Smoked Barbecue Trio Combo — with chicken, pulled pork and beef brisket. The pulled pork was moist, but the chicken and beef brisket was on the dry side. The restaurant had only about 12 patrons on a Friday evening, which was far from the crowded Hard Rocks as we remembered. Hence, service from our server was efficient and friendly. Hard Rock will have its fans dining on standard American fare amidst music memorabilia and music videos. But for others, there are other options in the area.
