Update: checked the online health scores, and around the same time I dined there, they were cited for a «High Risk Vermin Infestation» and «High Risk Unclean Contact Surfaces» (I witnessed this as well as the cross contamination)
How they operate like that is beyond me.
Well, I was excited for a good burger, but seeing the cook put a raw patty on the grill then touch buns and produce with same unwashed hand was a bit of a turn off. No illness luckily. Not worth the $ 15 for a burger and fries!

I haven’t been here in a while but I came in here for breakfast right before work and I ordered what I think is the work with bacon and hot sauce, I got it fresh and damn I was ready to go seconds in on it, the service is pretty good but they should clean up more.

When you see a johnny rockets you expect to get good service and excellent food. Here you get poor service and okay food. We waited a good 15 minutes to get drinks, our food came fast but we waited over 15 minutes to get our check (we came on a Wednesday) and our server took a lunch and sat on the bar eating while we had to struggle to get one of the few waiters to even acknowledge us. Not okay at all.

Nice Burgers and Milkshakes! Love It! Been there about 3 times. I will be returning sometime in the near future. Wish there was one in Sonoma County. So it would be closer.

Worst service ever. In fact I’m here now, waiting on the waitress to bring menus… its been 3 days.

There used to be one by my house and I loved it!
Decided to spend the day in San Francisco with my parents and they wanted to eat here. Poor decision. There’s only 2 booths that can accommodate a family. And they were both taken. Everything else was counter seating or a booth for 2 people. I seen an outside area connected to the building and I had asked if we could sit out there. The lady looked at my confused as if I was speaking another language. I told her if I can’t sit there just say no. She went back to talk to someone I assumed was the manager… And she came out to tell me it belonged to the hotel … The. Why are there menus and straw holders on all the tables???
About 5 minutes pass when I notice more and more people walking in. I thought to myself where are they going to sit? You guessed it. Outside. I’m assuming they want to fill the inside seats before the open up the outdoor seating… Just say that next time please. It would be much easier for everyone.
The food itself was great! I was amazed to see the cook by himself back there but still handling all the orders quickly! Our server was Amel (not sure if I am spelling her name correctly) she beyond amazed me with how she was taking care of every customer inside. I even heard one of her workers say «she’s doing the inside I have the patio». It was packed and for her to keep everyone happy and make sure things are getting delivered quickly amazed me. And service with a smile at that! It’s always great to see people like that. As for the management team… Talk about horrible managers. They’re more of a «I tell you what to do and you do it while I hide in the back and do nothing». I seen both managers come out, ask where someone was, and go right back into the back once they seen how busy it was. I know it won’t kill you to help out a little. I promise! Besides. Your employees will be less stressed with the extra help. I even heard someone ask to talk to a manager, 5 minutes later and still no manager… I hope Amel gets noticed for her amazing customer service

We came to Súper Bowl City and we couldn’t leave without coming to my special place. The fries, route 66 and the shakes aré the BOMB!!! here at Johnny Rockets. If I could give it a 10 star I would. The best of the best. Exceptional customer service.

Four of us arrived just after 1 PM on Monday for burgers. The entire counter was covered with dirty dishes. We sat down at a table in the front window next to the door because there were menus on the table and no dirty dishes.
After waiting almost 5 minutes I wandered toward the back of the restaurant to see if anyone was going to serve us. I was told by a party sitting at the booth in the back that there was one server who was working the counter, the restaurant and the takeout crowd at the register. There was one cook flipping burgers.
I managed to get the server’s attention and she said she would get to our table as soon as she could. It was so sad. She was the only one there working the entire place during lunch hour. After waiting another five minutes we went to a different restaurant.
Never found out how the food was. Probably won’t bother in the future.

My family came here after spending the day at the pier. We sat at the front counter for 30 minutes as the waitstaff walked by us several times. No one even acknowledged us nor gave a menu. After finally asking for a menu a waitress handed is one menu and walked off. We then waited an additional 20 minutes for her to come back and take our order. What makes this even worse is the entire time we were experiencing this horrific service the manager was sitting right across from us the entire time and never said anything about the way in which we were treated. The only positive I can give is that another waitress by the name of Paula saw finally that we were not being helped and came to the rescue. She was extremely kind and apologetic about our initial experience. If it honestly weren’t for the fact that my children were hungry and I was to exhausted to walk to another restaurant I would have gotten up and left. In addition Paula really went out of her way to help in any and every way to get things taken care of.

Quite okay breakfast I must say. Not bad but nothing special too. Good price and okay service. It was on the back on Zephyr Hotel where we stayed. Very American, very fast food

AVOID THIS LOCATION!
My boyfriend and I came to Johnny Rockets yesterday after spending the the day at Pier 39. We realize that it was very busy and poorly understaff. We understood so we waited patiently. Time went by and We didn’t get acknowledged and even had to pick up our own menus.
We continued to wait as we saw the couple who walked in at the same time as us had their orders taken and food delivered. Then there was a couple that came in way after us that got more service than we ever did. We felt that was extremely rude so we left shortly after.
Worst service ever!

First off, let me say I love Johnny Rockets as a general rule. It is actually one of my favorite places to eat and get the Cheese Steak sandwich. This location was absolutely awful… at least service wise. I can’t comment on the food because I never got it.
We made a visit last week and sat at the counter. Our order was very simple. A burger for me and my partner. 2 Cokes. After she took the order we sat there for over 15 minutes while the server disappeared. Have no idea where she went. Another lady noticed we didn’t have any drinks and brought us some.
Then another 10 minutes and my partners food shows up but not mine. I ask where mine is and she tells me I didn’t order anything… even despite her asking and clarifying with me what I wanted on the burger when she took the order. Believe it or not I wasn’t upset at this point. I wanted seafood anyways and told her not to worry about it, I was just going to grab clam chowder across the street.
Then she disappears again for 20 more minutes and finally brings the check, then you guessed it disappears again. I took the check to the cash register and the lady up there said only our server can cash us out. I said go find her. I am told I will need to wait. I said then the meal is on you and I am leaving. She wouldn’t take my money. Finally our server shows up takes the money and disappears in the back saying she needs to get change. Another 5 minutes I tell the girl up front I need change within 30 seconds or I will call the cops and report a theft. She goes and gets the manager who finally gives me my change and a discount.
Avoid this place at all costs. Plenty of other places in the area to eat.

Yo renuncié a mi posición porque me sentía muy incómodo con Edgar y Stephanie fraternizar en la oficina junto con Stephanie siendo tratado de forma diferente cada vez que un problema o discrepancia surgió nunca fue aconsejado por advertido de nada.

Vraiment pas mal du tout! L’endroit est d’un style d’une autre époque, on peut s’adosser au bar et manger notre burger tout en regardant les cuisiniers travailler !
La qualité du burger «route 66» était très correcte pour ma part… le tout accompagné de «fries with chees» un délice à 80 000 calories :)
Les serveurs étaient aussi très accueillant!

Ordered from Johnny Rockets while camped out at a friend’s house in Russian Hill for a day of watching movies and enjoying a vegetative state. We were excited that it seemed like a brand new addition to Grub Hub. Sadly, the delivery took two hours since the delivery man was woefully confused — despite several phone call attempts to explain the directions step by step.
By the time the order arrived, the milkshakes were melted, the turkey burger and patty melt tepid and soggy, and the cheese fries were cold and inedible. When we tried to call the restaurant to complain, no one on the premises could speak English and were unable to help. Would not give them another chance!

Located near Fishermans Wharf in a busy section of town, it was surely a nice stop.
I know it a chain but it was actually my first experience at Johnny Rockets. I wasn’t hungry but just wanted something to cool me off. They have many options for desserts and shakes. The Orange Dreamsicle sounded tasty. They brought it out fairly quickly for how busy they are. The first half is in the glass with whip cream on top with the shake canister accompanying. There was almost a whole other glass full in it. The shake itself was very good. Thick, creamy and hit the spot.
The service here was good as well. With a constant stream of customers, the tables were cleaned off quickly and orders taken promptly. Several people were always checking on us which was great.
Even though I didn’t get to try their food, I would highly recommend their shakes any day!

Great food at a fair price can make up for shortcomings in service. I give each person a fair shake when it comes to service industry pros because let’s get real, their dog may have died yesterday… Johnny Rockets is an excellent bargain and worth each and every dollar. Service was blah but who cares. Rock on breakfast burger!

Oh for a ½ star system but it is not a review without ar least one star but that is really too much. The restaurant is dirty the food is poorly prepaid and you pay a premium for the location. Usually a day of exercise is enough to have dog food taste good. But sadly it won’t help this place. Too many options near by to justify this type of disappointment.

Der Burger sowie die Pommes waren ok aber leider nix besonderes. Das Fleisch war sehr trocken und die Pommes weiß (absolut nicht knusprig). Wir würden das Lokal eher nicht mehr besuchen und geben 2,5 Sterne.

Tried pastrami burger, fries, rocket wings, root beer float, and chili. All the items were good. I was hoping the hamburger patti would be seasoned. The pretzel bun was buttery and good found down. Service was great.

Older location
I guess I’m comparing this location to the two Johnny Rocket’s I’ve dined-​in in Las Vegas. This one in San Francisco is just old and small. The food is still the same Johnny Rocket’s quality and high prices. We had good service here but unlike the one in Excalibur on Las Vegas Blvd, here we were served at our table, ‘Fany’ was our server. I had the ROUTE 66 (as you already know, this favorite is named after the iconic, carefree, American Highway). It has Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions & mayonnaise… very tasty.
Four burgers (one a kids meal at that) and two a la carte orders of regular fries (no soda fountains) came out to $ 46! Dang! Luckily, I purchased a $ 40 Groupon deal before heading out to the City, saved me a little bit of money.
There is an overflow room in case the main dining area is all filled. Most of the seats in the main dining area are two-​seater tables. There are two (that I saw) that seated up to four and, as I mentioned earlier, the back room could seat a family. In this room also leads to the restrooms, waaaayy down the hall and to your right at the very end (Women’s). Two stalls not in working order so only one working one for the customers to use. Also, they need to check it once in awhile for stock of toilet paper.
Located at Fisherman’s Wharf on Jefferson St., just a few minutes walk from Pier 39. Don’t expect a big sign and look carefully because you might miss it.

After writing a glowing review of Johnny Rockets in Laguna Beach last year, I expected to have a similar experience a few months back at the Oakland location. Didn’t happen: it was crowded but they were not adequately staffed so we were made to wait an inordinately long time to order and to be served.
When our orders finally arrived we were disappointed in not only the presentation but in the mediocre quality of the burgers. I ordered mine with blue cheese expecting crumbly Roquefort but instead got imitation blue cheese dressing in a plastic packet. It wasn’t even remotely similar to the one down south. That one was a memorable experience; the one in Downtown Oakland was one I’d rather forget.

After spending time at the academy of science, we came here to eat and spend some time with the girls walking around fishermen’s wharf and pier 39. We were very hungry and it was about 2:45pm to 3pm. We have not eaten since breakfast (about 830am), so we were very hungry, I had Route 66 (mushrooms /​and cheese) and side of large fries. Me and my wife had the same but I can’t remember what the girls had. It was very tasty and satisfying. Our waitress was very very nice and very attentive. Her name is Fany and she was very good in getting what we want and needed. The location on this Johnny Rockets is right were the busiest street between pier 39 and the fisherman ‘s wharf. There were a lot of people that day mostly tourist. We were lucky enough to get seated. All four of us. Since the buildings in San Francisco are old (er), the place wasn’t as clean as I thought would be with all the other Johnny rocket’s franchises that I been. It could be a little tidier though, but again maybe it’s just busy that day.
The negative part about my experience or should I say our experience in this location is their restroom location and the availabilities. My daughter’s complained about not having enough toilet paper (non what so ever) and two of the stalls were out of order. Further more it was located all the way in the back end were you can easily get lost if you made the wrong turn. That’s only thing I can say negative about this place but I couldn’t complain about the excellent service we got from our waitress.
