The food and atmosphere was great! Nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded streets. The staff was so nice and very attentive. Food was fabulous! We got burgers and spinach salad. Large portions and great quality.

Pretty good for the $ 1.50 oysters and a good cocktail or two. The bartender was pretty dry but everyone has there off days. Good for a little lunch date in the busy San Francisco city.

When we came in the bartender said«oh great, you guys want oysters?», not the way I expected to be greeted. We then sat for a good 5 minutes before someone even acknowledged us to take our drink order. We were served our food super fast but with no napkins. The oysters were fresh and shucked right in front of you… delicious. The clam chowder was decent. Overall food was okay… but there definitely needs to be better customer service, two men next to us sat for a while and ended up walking out due to being ignored. Dirty looks and ignoring customers won’t bring in or keep them coming.

Visited here with a good friend after we came back from a whale watching boat ride. I was freezing from the whale watching so all I really wanted was hot tea or something. We both settled on hot chocolate and we also shared fried calamari and the fisherman’s platter of fried seafood. Everything tasted good. One star lower only because man was it pricey! Though I suppose I should have expected that… I say you should consider coming here if you’re searching for food in the ever crowded Pier 39.

Come for the view, but don’t stay for the food. Like many others, the balcony overlooking the water drew me to this place. You would imagine that any seafood dish you order from here would be top notch, considering you could practically fish a lobster or crab right out of the water yourself from the balcony of this place. Wrong! There wasn’t a single hint of crab meat in the crab cakes I ordered(in flavor or appearance). They were the saddest mash of canned sea mystery meat and loads of cornmeal to hold that together. I couldn’t even choke them down. I could probably get better sea food at a red lobster in Kansas than this sea side café. That’s a bit of a crime! The train wreck ensued as the servers began to lose track of who each order belonged to. We were approached at least 4 times with food we didn’t order. Eventually, the staff gave up and just began calling out orders as they walked along the balcony seating area so someone would claim their food. It was like a sad lost and found.

I don’t typically eat at Pier 39 when I visit SF. This place deserves a one star but I’m giving this is two star because it has such a beautiful view and it’s at the heart of Fishermans Wharf. This review is only based on the lunch menu. I was craving for oysters and while waiting for our table — asked the hostess. She seemed uninterested to help and had no idea what I was talking about. She did not seem like your typical hostess because she didn’t greet the guests coming up, had no enthusiasm or professionalism. The server messed up on our order twice. They kept ringing us the wrong dish and my friend recieved her tilapia plate as we were finishing out meals. The service is BAD. We sat down at a table near the window which you get a good view of the boardwalk. The seafood options were really limited for lunch. The pictures on Unilocal didn’t help in deciding what I wanted because had breakfast and dinner options. I order the steam clams in butter garlic sauce. Each of my friend order a fried seafood plate — clams, fish and chips, and fish and clams. The steamed clams had a layer of butter The fried batter had a nice even coating on it and wasn’t too doughy. But the batter had basic taste to it. The fish wasn’t the freshest. They had skinny fries paired with the plates and coleslaw. The friend clams strips were literally strips of dough. My friend ordered a Bloody Mary and couldn’t even finish it. Everything was mediocre at best. Not the freshest or amazing seafood place here.

Went in for the happy hour. Happy hour is only available at the bar so I didn’t get a great view of the bay, but I had a friendly bartender The Bloody Mary was good and is worth trying. Cost about $ 9.50. I also bought some happy hour oysters for $ 1.50 each. Tasted fresh and yummy! Some were really small and some were regular sized, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

This place is nothing to write home to mom about but it isn’t horrible. We were seated right away on a Saturday afternoon and chose to sit outside. It wasn’t cold so it was nice. Our seats overlooked the ferry boats and we could catch a glimpse of the sea lions in the distance. It did take some time for our order to be taken but it was busy and we weren’t in a rush. The server was sweet and did her job well. We got 2 beers a fried calamari order and half lb of spicy shrimp and a dozen oysters it all came to $ 73 with the 10% Unilocal coupon sucks that they don’t take 10% off drinks and sides but whatever still under $ 80 for 2 with drinks and food so we were happy. Food came out quite fast. And all tasted good. Nothing special but nothing bad. The calamari was fried to perfection the oysters were fresh. The spicy shrimp was however EXTREMELY spicy lol she asked if I liked spicy food cus it had a little kick to it, more like a punch in the face then a kick lol. It was so spicy I didn’t even want to dip the bread in the sauce. The shrimp were good though, I’ll get the garlic next time. The only thing I did not like was the coleslaw it was the vinegar kind of coleslaw that is sweet and vinegary I’m more of a mayo coleslaw person and since this one didn’t have mayo it just wasn’t for me some people might like it but not my thing however the side was only $ 2.50 so it’s not that big of a deal. Will we return? Perhaps but I’d like to try the other spots around here first. Nothing special here makes me want to come back unless it’s for happy hour.

Honestly, I’m not sure why this place only has 3.5 stars on Unilocal?!We came here unplanned as we initially wanted to try Fog Harbor but the wait was way too long and we were actually seated pretty quickly at Eagle Café. I was with 6 others but there were enough seats at the bar. My boyfriend and I shared: –Clam Chowder Bread Bowl –1 dozen Oysters –Angel Hair Salmon Pasta The Clam Chowder Bread Bowl was alot bigger than I had expected, but no complaints here! It was a pretty chilly day in SF so the chowder really hit the spot and warmed us up real quick. Also, it actually my first time having soup in a bread bowl and I must say, I am definitely a fan. I was surprised to see how well the bread bowl holds up as I expected it to get a bit messy with soup spilling out but not at all! One dozen oysters will cost you ~$ 25 which isnt too bad at all compared to the other spots around this area. The oysters were from Virigina and W O W – I was pleasantly surprised at how incredibly fresh they were! No fishy aftertaste or sand/rocks left in your mouth afterwards. One dozen was definitely not enough because I was left wanting more after the last oyster. The pasta came out last and it was the finishing touch to our meal. The pasta was very light but very flavorful as it was sauteed in garlic, basil and light tomato sauce. I was pleased with the amount of salmon in my pasta as well as the diced up sauteed tomatoes as well. I really would not mind coming back to dine here again the future. Short wait, fresh oysters, delicious food and good service! ** T I P S** –Check in on Unilocal for 10% off lunch or dinner!(no exclusions!)

After walking into a dozen restaurants with a ridiculous wait we stumble across Eagle Café and good thing we did. There was absolutely no wait we were seated right away and even got a seat outside. Which I more than recommend! The view outside is to die for. I love people watching so this was by far the best view I could ask for. I ordered the crab salad sandwich and fries and it was a good sized sandwich that left me very satisfied. I was dying of hunger which is probably why I scarfed it down but no matter the case it was a delicious sandwich. Definitely would eat here again. You can’t beat this view!

The clam strips… were clam strips. Decent, hard to screw up. The cheeseburger was good… again, hard to screw up. The original thing we got were oyster shooters. Not your typical oyster shooters. It was like a huge shot of vodka with a couple oysters and hot sauce at the bottom. It wasn’t good. The service was fine. Our waiter was pleasant, offered to validate our parking, and was attentive. We were, however, seated next to the bathroom. It was a strange set-up…a room full of tables and then three extra mini-tables shoved into the hallway next to the bathroom. Maybe it’s where they put the unsuspecting tourist. This place was just ok. Nothing fancy, nothing terrible. I did like that it was not a commercial restaurant which seems to be the only thing down at Fisherman’s warf.

No waiting for our table, staff was extremely accommodating, very friendly(not in a fake way) and our food was sooooooo amazing!!! We didn’t even talk to each other for about 10 minutes! We were enjoying our dishes and realized that this was the best breakfast we’ve had in a LONG time… Can’t wait to go back!

A-OK. One of the least looking touristy spots along Pier 39, I was glad my travel companions were okay coming here for breakfast since I really didn’t want to chain it up on our 3 day trip. Our first two brunch destinations were closed on Mondays, so we headed to the Pier to try our luck. The omelette wasn’t bad at all, about run of the mill. The side of fruit was nice and fresh. The strawberries were plump and ripe — not left sitting around the refrigerator for days on end. I let my eyes wander and take in the sights of the nearby table which ordered two massive crab cakes that looked ridiculous. From what I could overhear, I probably should have gone with that order.

What a delicious place to grab breakfast, and with their fresh fruit it’s a plus! They have indoor and outdoor seating(overlooking the water). I had their healthy breakfast and enjoyed every bite. By the way, their french toast is by far the best I’ve had in a long time. It wasn’t too mushy and had a bit of crunch to the edges, and not too greasy like other french toast. This is a must if you happen to be around pier 39 during breakfast/brunch. The servers are very attentive and courteous as well!

Was in the area doing the tourist thing with friends and I were starting to get hungry so we decided to give Eagle Café a try. It was a Sunday afternoon, but we got a table right away. After checking out the menu I knew I wanted the Fish & Chips so I placed my order. I do love me some fish and chips, and when I think of chips I think of some thick fries, like maybe steak fries or something like that, so that’s what I had pictured in my head as fish and chips. What I got was fish and shoestring potatoes. So very sad. The fish was lightly fried and tasted great, the slaw that is served with it is a vinegar base and not my favorite, I was just disappointed by the chips, and the meal was not what I was hoping it to be. Service was good, it was a busy Sunday, so there was some waiting around for the check and what not, but it is on Pier 39 and full of tourist. If you get to grab a seat outside, the view of the bay is great.

My boyfriend and I were on the hunt for fresh oysters during our visit at Pier 39. As random as it may seem to have picked Eagle Café, we got lucky because we had one of the best fresh shucked oysters here. We ordered a dozen for $ 25. They served them on ice with lemon, cocktail sauce and fresh horseradish. It was probably one of the best oysters that I’ve ever had. We finished the entire dozen in less than 10 minutes. We sat at the counter and the service was excellent. **RECOMMENDED**

I came here on a whim one day after doing the Bay Cruise. Usually I try to avoid eating in a heavily touristy area, but I was hungry and I loved the location of Eagle Café! I came here about 2:30pm on a Friday. They were pretty busy at this time, but I got a seat right away. Anywhere you sit here you get a nice view of the pier, which is what sold me on this place to begin with! You are cramped pretty close to your neighbors here, but it was ok by me. For food, I ordered the Clam Chowder in the Bread Bowl($ 10) and a Sam Adams beer($ 5) to drink. My order came out in less than five minutes(sweet!). My food tasted very good, but it may have been because I was so hungry. I did happily eat all of it and it did hit the spot. I did spend some time enjoying my drink and the view after I was done eating. I never felt pressure to leave by the server once he took my plate away, which I liked. Service here was fast and efficient the day I came in, which I really liked! My server also automatically gave me 10% off since he saw me check-in on Unilocal(how awesome!). I like how attentive he was! Overall, I enjoyed my meal here at Eagle Café. Would I come back here again? Maybe, but only if I was with others and in the touristy part of the city. Cheers!
