I used to come here after a long day of shopping at the mall for their fried calamari salad. I love that dish because it’s the best of both worlds — unhealthy fried calamari with a mayo-based aioli pared with a tart and spicy arugula salad. They’ve since taken it off the menu and I’m asking PLEASEBRINGITBACK! Anyway, since they didn’t have my beloved salad, I ended up ordering the Prosciutto e Panna pizza and it was surprisingly delicious! The creaminess of the sauce(no red sauce), with the saltiness of the proscuitto, spicy bite of onion paired well, and the surprising tartness of the lemon helped cut through the heaviness. It’s a great pizza option if you’re bored with the typical pepperoni pizza.

Decent food. Ridiculous prices. Cost like $ 12.99 to add grilled chicken to our tiny pizza that 2 of us were able to demolish. $ 40 – 50 dollar bill for a pizza and a beer.

The pizza was alright. Thin crust, fresh, a little salty, and really oily. The service was mediocore. The waitress took our orders and provided recommendations, but didn’t seem very friendly or happy. Note: I wasn’t expecting unfiltered excitment or joy, but a smile would’ve been welcomed.

Yummy salad selections and nice beer/wine menu. The atmosphere & staff were so pleasant, that what started as a «simple lunch» at noon w/a former co-worker, ended up being a fun afternoon exploring their Happy Hour wine list & drinking till 6pm(yes, we WALKED home).

Big thumbs up for the pizza is just that good! Got the margarita and cant say enough about it — a fan for sure! Service was great. The only thing was that our table for 2 was very small and we could not fit all the appetizers and food.

Great little find. Johnny the bartender was awesome and super personable. He gave us great recommendations. We had the penne al sugo. It did not disappoint. Johnny suggested putting a little pepper sauce on it and it was amazing.

Huge fan of this place. Went for dinner last night and loved what we ate! Would have liked to see a greater offering of pizzas but we had the pepperoni, carne, and the fungi pizza. Also we tried the squid ink spaghetti. The pizza was great but I would avoid the pasta. Something wasn’t right about the pasta, maybe it was just me but squid ink spaghetti shouldn’t taste like penne with red sauce. Definitely go for the pizza here, wood fired with a nice seasoning, avoid the pasta. The wine was great too!

Nice ambience, comfy seats, good food, good prices. Came mostly to hang with a friend, and chose this place because it was easily accessible from BART, looked nice from the outside, and seemed far enough away from the crush of holiday mall shoppers. Ordered the margherita, olives, and wine. Neither of us was particularly hungry but it turned out to be the perfect amount of food and was pretty tasty. Service was barely existent. I kind of felt bad for our server who seemed harried and a little testy. Overall it’s not someplace I’d go far out of the way to come back to, but Cupola serves its purpose well enough. Will be back when I need a nice place to sit for a snack, and next time with appropriately lowered expectations re customer service. $ 54 for two all-in.

TAKEHEEDTOALLTHENEGATIVEREVIEWS! We read Unilocal and should have listened. Manager on duty 12⁄21 approximately 7:30 in the evening was as RUDE as they come! We waited and had to flag down the waitress to get any service. When ordering, any hesitation and she was gone. She was curt initially, but softened up slightly. The waitress had no «connection» however did the minimum of filling our water glasses and delivering our food in a timely manner. She nor the manager never cracked a smile, yet circled the 20% tip. We ordered the dome salad which was average, three soggy pizzas and Penne El Sugo. My recommendation is that if you are going to pay over $ 100.00 for mediocre pizza/pasta, go elsewhere. I would NOT recommend CUPOLA. TAKEHEED!

So this is an update. I’m going to have to take my rating down because of what happened when we walked up. We had a reservation, but when the hostess tried to sit us outside… she got an attitude when we said we didn’t want to sit outside. Not a good start. After 15 minutes she asks me(with the same bad attitude) if we have to have a separate booth or can we sit at one of the communal tables. I told her we just wanted to sit inside(simple request considering there were plenty of seats to sit people before us). After seating us she calls us to remind us of our reservation. WTH?! Our server was nice(which was our experience before). She came right up and got our drink order. Food was on point like before. So I guess this is about the service. The Manager came out to talk to us and apologized for the hostess, so props for that.

Hey, to the MANAGERTHATWASWORKINGTODAY12÷05÷15 approx 1:00pm — this is for YOU. Here’s what was good: The Hostess was very nice and seated us promptly. The pizza was very delicious. Here’s what was bad: Our caesar salad tasted like nothing, beyond bland, and looked covered in mayo — yuck. Our drinks never arrived after our order was taken. The manager(cranky dismissive tall man) brought our food out and didn’t seem to care that our drinks hadn’t been served yet. When we told him, he snapped back«as soon as they come through, we’ll bring them out». Come through? We asked for water and a coke, dude. Then I watched him say something to our server(and her she comes with our waters), while he gets my coke. He returns to our table and hovers the glass saying«diet coke?». Thinking it was diet coke, I said«no — it was a regular coke.» He says«regular coke» and hands it to me. WTF. What did I do to you? Why so dismissive and cold? Once we had our food and drinks, we were never approached again. No one came by to check on us or offer refills. I had to wait until our server stopped by to clear our plates before I could tell her that we were not going to eat that terrible salad. One star for the hostess and one star for the pizza. Get your pizza for takeout.

If you’re right on market and looking for a place to eat, this is one of your better sit-down options. 1) We really enjoyed the persimmon bruschetta, it was a great balance of sweet and savory. 2) The polenta fries come in a large portion, and retain their heat for quite some time. They’re good, but the«lemon aoli» is a bit weak and more like straight mayo. 3) Funghi pizza. Great crust(from a very harsh critic), but the pizza’s rolled out a bit too thin such that it’s overly floppy and a little soggy from the watery sauce. Cheese selection was mediocre, overall not the best pizza for $ 19. I wouldn’t ask for it again, but wouldn’t object if it was in front of me. Overall, it’s a solid option.

Review for early dinner(5p), on a Wednesday night(we did not try pizza here): — service very slow, even when there were about 10 people in the restaurant. — expensive for 1 small kale salad, 1 torn pasta salad, 3 glasses of house wine, and appetizer of olives($ 70 total). The real test of a good restaurant — will you be back: although the pasta was good, I can’t imagine coming back. Alternatives: I would rather go to Fuzio’s, Barbacco, Perbacco or Brindisi for pasta.

Cute little pizza spot! I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was a hit. We sat overlooking the middle of the mall and could view many floors below us. The staff was attentive and friendly. We ordered a basic pepperoni pizza with two Arnold Palmers for our drinks. The pizza was good, the crust on the thin side and just slightly crispy and burnt in a few spots. The sauce and cheese were very good, very cheesy! I wouldn’t recommend the Arnold Palmers. For some reason they were a bit frothy, an odd take and they were really bitter. Not bad but for the size they were it was too bitter for me. I would recommend if you have a little more time for a sit down style restaurant while enjoying the mall, it’s worth checking out.

I was tired from walking and I met up with friends by the Bart. It was dark and I was lazy so I preferred to stay in the mall. I’m a creature of habit and I wanted to go to a restaurant I’ve been to before. It’s been that long since I was here last and the place I wanted to go to was closed. Since Cupola was right by the place I wanted we decided to go there instead. I’ve been out of the country and have been wanting pizza and pasta! If you are here on a hot date then don’t order the squid ink spaghetti. Let me repeat SQUIDINK! You’ll have black marks on your face. If you are out with friends then order it! It was amazing. As long as they don’t care how messy of an eater you are. Also shared the carne pizza. Of course anything with meat is delicious! The pizza tasted amazing. Great place to eat while in the mall. Glad I got to try it.

This has to be the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten. We ordered the Funghi pizza which had mushrooms, tomatoes, oregano, provolone, and red bell peppers. Our pizza was served room temperature and we asked for a new one. The manager brought it out and was apologetic. When we tasted the second pizza, the crust was hot but the tip was still just like warm. We dug in because it was late and we were hungry. The pizza had no flavor whatsoever. We had to put salt on it to make it edible. No one came by to ask if our meal was satisfactory. Skip this place and eat elsewhere.

I’m kind of ashamed to say this but. what really led me here was how pretty this place looked. It attracted my eyes. so I came for it… but I was disappointed in the end. I had the margherita pizza, garlic fries, and the penne all’amatriciana pasta. margherita pizza– very mediocre. It wasn’t bad, but at the same time it wasn’t really good. It was edible, so I ate it. I don’t know how else to explain it. garlic fries– looked soooooo good! I wanted to eat them right away but they were so hot! the garlic fries were big! But then when i bit it. it tasted like. not fries… It was so mushy and bland on the inside, the sauce that came with it didn’t help at all. I was disappointed because it was the best looking dish. Penne All’amatriciana– This dish came out last, and I wasn’t really expecting much out of it because the others were whatever, but it wasn’t that bad. Again, like the pizza, it wasn’t bad, but at the same time it wasn’t like OMGSOBOMB! It was edible. Overall, this place really made me realize that PRESENTATIONISEVERYTHING! This place really has all of the looks, from the interior down to the dish. The presentation is nice and clean, the servers were helpful, but the food… the food was alright. I wouldn’t really come here again just because I didn’t feel like it was worth that money on something mediocre. I could’ve settled for pizza hut and netflix and be very satisfied. Maybe happy hour though? I hear their happy hour is great! But we’ll see.

Cupola is an Italian-style pizza place in the Westfield Mall’s food court. The good food court, away from the riff-raff of the first floor. The kale salad was pretty good, but the pizza was kind of greasy and the crust was overly doughy. Not bad, but not as good as the stuff in North Beach.

Review for Happy Hour! I came here with coworkers after work and the restaurant has happy hour from 3−6pm. They have happy hour red wine, white wine, and a margherita pizza for only $ 7.25 compared to $ 18! Out of 8 people, 6 of us ended up getting margherita pizzas. 3 coworkers got some white wine and sigh, I’ll just have to wait till I’m 21 for happy hour drinks! The margherita was sooooo good and the cheese on the pizza was super delicious. The crust was very chewy and the staff was attentive too. I actually ended up only eating half because I got full. With tax/tip, the total came to be $ 9 so the happy hour deal is great and definitely worth it! I will be back here when I’m back at the mall.

Not as good as I remember. Really good pizza(margarita and carne), complimentary focaccia bread and happy hour deals. I was pretty happy with my kale salad. Subpar pasta, wine, appetizers and the only redeeming thing is their consistent panna cotta.

Nice place with good pizza and salad. Went there with three people and we would all give 4 out of 5 stars. The waiter was a nice guy, we enjoyed sitting there for food and drinks. Only the choices of different pizzas I found a bit limited — but at least the ones they serve are good!
