Delicious cappuccino and welcoming classic Italian café ambiance! Outside tables look welcoming though bring a sweater because it’s SF ;-)

Not to happy with a lady coming out to the front with a raw turkey in a pan, putting it on the counter and starts making cappuccinos with the same dirty raw meat *contaminated gloves!

I like this place. Their croissants are excellent and most things I’ve had are good. What I don’t like is the customer service. I ordered a couple of iced drinks and was given hot ones. When I explained that I had ordered iced drinks they simply poured out some of the drink and put some ice in. When I explained again what I had ordered the woman said I ordered it hot which simply wasn’t true and she wasn’t apologetic or remotely responsive about it. I just left and didn’t get any coffee and she didn’t seem to care.

The café is very nice and friendly. I was just shocked by the price of a smoothy … 8.50 $ it s way to much…

I love going to this café. The people who work here are always so friendly and kind. The baked goods are the bomb, those mini-cinnamon roles are like little bites of heaven.

Great coffee, pastries and ambience! Been going here for 6+ years and have been thrilled with experience every time.

I’m an old-school«customer is always right» type of customer, and the ladies here provide service exactly as I request; they pour my Americano exactly as I like it: half-full which is not half water plus the 4 ounces of espresso. They greet me with a smile, with efficiency, and know me by name now. My favorites: sticky bun, chocolate croissant, coffee cake, and their pies. I haven’t stopped over for lunch so my review is limited to the above. This is my neighborhood go-to spot and I drop by btw 2 – 4 times a week. I approve this message.

The coffee is okay. Over priced for sure on almost almost everything. I bought a 10 dollar caesar salad, literally only romaine with powder cheese & croutons. and i am not impressed with anything. Customer service is off. I can’t recommend anything. The owner or worker was questioning customers who places orders, that is a red flag.

An unfriendly owner who refused to honor my 2 for 1 voucher that I had just printed from the Internet. A surprising attitude for a person in this type of business. The food was barely edible. The spanokopita was dry and tasteless and the accompanying salad did not have enough dressing. All in all not a good experience. I will never go back.

I come to Café XO for coffee, bagels and their homemade chocolate almond croissants. The coffee and bagel I would rank as average. They are always very accommodating about special requests I have for my bagel, but don’t always have all of the toppings listed on the menu available. The chocolate almond croissant is the bomb — flakey, chocolatey, and small enough to make me not feel guilty. The best part of Café XO is its location. Its right next to the 30th& Church MUNI stop so I end up going here when I have a spare 10 minutes while waiting for the train. The seats outside also make for good people watching on a sunny weekend.

Maybe like 2.4 stars. Their location and convenience is the thing they have going for them.(A star for that) coffee is ok, croissants banana bread and other baked goods pretty tasty(two stars) but the service can be hit or miss. The sweet lady is always cheery and friendly(two stars). She can be overly chatty with her friends and then the line builds up and things slow. But there’s this other guy who’s also there in the mornings and is a total grump with a lot of attitude. Talking about a middle aged eurotrashy douche trying to be young with overly gelled hair, tight tee shirt, gold chain etc. He thinks he’s doing you a huge favor by taking your order.(Minus 2.6 or more) his attitude makes me regret coming in and supporting this local business. Initially, thought it was an off day for him, but no, he is consistently like that with me. Next time I’ll just walk in and see who’s at the register and keep walking if I see him there… For some reason I suspect he is the owner tho. So maybe I’ll continue walking to Martha Bros. or to Bom Dia.

Was so excited to discover this neighborhood spot in Noe Valley. If you love cafes with yummy food, free wifi, comfy seats, and plenty of outlets — you’ll love Café XO. Staff are nice and self-serve ice water(with large glasses) is much appreciated. The home-made almond and almond/chocolate croissants are delicious. I’m torn about sharing this gem since I don’t want it to become hard to get a seat here, but I wanted to give the Café some love since it took me awhile to check this place out because of the current 3.5 star Unilocal rating. It’s now become my preferred place to bring my laptop to get some work done in the ‘hood!

Super. Andre and Cynthia keep up a chill vibe :) Very comfy seating corners with plugpoints right behind. A great place to sit and work at, with Wifi. It’s fun with the Muni/train passing by every now and then, grinding its wheels at the corner, leaning heavily on its side :) Food things, especially that red velvet cake slice I am avoiding looks pretty sitting there under glass covers. Old people walk in a lot, so it has a nice neighborly feel. Also school kids. Good thing is a grocery shop is right opposite it so after you chill, you can buy your groceries and head home. Wish they had a bigger selection of veg salads. Please expand — add a grilled veggies salad maybe, or kale-feta. The salad they do have is yum. The bread they give with the salads is fab. fresh…(Made me break my no-bread vow).

I have to start my review with a Spanish phrase: «Este sitio está de Puta Madre». The coffee was meticulously prepared and it was exquisite. My friend had the breakfast special and nothing was left on his plate. I had the Belgian waffle and it was delicious, as I was eating I saw one of their breakfast burritos and got really interested, OMG I’m so glad I ordered one, it must be one of the best breakfast burritos I ever had, and I’m from New Mexico. The food, although rich in flavor, is not heavy on the stomach. This will be a must visit again if I return to San Francisco!

You know I’m a sucker for great service and would give an extra start for great service even tho the food is not so good! Don’t get me wrong, the lemon poppy seed cake I had was awesome! And the ice latte was also great but I love how the cashier was trying to make simple conversation and smile the whole time, made my day even brighter than it already is! Environment is small and cozy, not a lot of room for kids but I like it!

Life is too short. Thanks to the surly, ungrateful, clearly unhappy chicks who now run this, Adam’s local neighborhood café has lost it’s charm. Today,(April 2nd, 2015) they were blaring Christmas music, as if to scare away customers. In an otherwise charming space, these employees have made a beautiful, restful neighborhood spot an unwelcome place to be, with their loud, obnoxious music and their shitty attitude towards longtime neighbors and anyone in general. It’s happened several visits over the last few years and my neighbors have said the same. The food is still good, but the atmosphere is toxic. Perhaps that explained why a once busy and popular place was now nearly empty at lunch hour. Am done with Café XO. Church and 30th used to be a very friendly to all Greek part of my SF youth. Adam’s café was once Acropolis Travel agency. I regret that Adam has relegated his business to these cretins.

Oh every street corner should have a Café XO! From the delicious treats to the teas, décor and tables outdoors, this is the perfect café! I feel like I’m in France when I am here. Oh la la!

I really wanted to love this place, but poor service is only excusable at a Chinese restaurant(where price and yumminess outshine rudeness!). The woman behind the counter chose talking to her friend over taking my order and I didn’t see her smile to any of the customers. I think it might have been the same cashier as these other two star reviews I’m seeing. I got excited over the stacks of baked goods behind the counter, but my oatmeal cookie was too sweet and tasted like something store-bought. There also aren’t any labels, so I wasn’t sure of what everything was. Tips and Tricks: –If you’re getting the tea for-here, you’re really just paying extra for more hot water(you still only get one tea bag). –Bottled water is $ 2!

Living just a block up from this café isn’t the only reason I come here frequently for my caffeine fixes. The coffee is very good, the staff kind, helpful, very dog friendly(!!) and thorough. You won’t be forgotten when you come in here, whether it’s once or a dozen times. It’s a special place that has continued to make updates throughout the years I’ve been a Noe Valley resident, all of which have been non-invasive to the patrons and rather helpful. Love getting a bagel with Lox here some mornings — NOCHEESE. But really, I go in just to say hi to the sweet women who run this café with care. Café XO is a true gem — even if it closes pretty early!
