This place keeps blowing me away. They baked goods are REALLYGOOD. and they sell $ 1 day old baked goods and thats all I’ve been getting and they don’t taste stale at all(even if I eat them slowly days later). They sandwiches are awesome. Their coffee is a good price for SF. Good location, comfortable setting… diggin’ this place.

Conveniently located half a block from Mission street, I’ve been to this café a few times on my way to work in the neighborhood. The café has staff who are friendly and upbeat, serves a variety of caffeinated drinks for your morning fix, and has delicious breakfast sandwiches! My only issue is sometimes getting stuck in the long line of other people who love this place.

Service: 5 stars Coffee: 2 – 3 stars Service is usually super friendly. They don’t know my face but offered to spot my $ 2 since I didn’t have cash on me and there was a credit card minimum. «Just pay us back later when you’re in the neighborhood.» That’s a 5 star experience for a neighborhood café! I’ll definitely be a returning customer. The coffee here is amiss sometimes. I’ve had cappuccino here a few times, and it really depends on the barista you get. I’ve gotten rough foam and bitter cappuccinos to really smooth and delicious cappuccinos. The house coffee is a good deal and their iced coffee tastes good too. Have to average it to a 3 stars because I really wish they can establish some consistency on the quality of the espresso drinks!

I can see why Café Seventy8 has such great reviews. You get a really strong cup of coffee here for cheaper than Starbucks or Peet’s, so we’re talking both quality and quantity. Not only that, their bagels, sandwiches, and salads are all made to order by just two people working the counter and food prep station. It would be a travesty if this local stable goes under or has to close because of gentrification and rising rent in San Francisco. Great service, strong coffee, free wi-fi, delicious food. They even have portable chargers for your phones. Solid stuff.($ 5 minimum for credit cards)

I really like their coffee. Go here 2 – 4 times per week. Curry chicken salad sandwich is also yummy. Everyone there is friendly. Great neighborhood café.

I was surprised by the great reviews for this place. The coffee was OK. My cappuccino looked just like my mom’s latte — so I am not sure what was different about these drinks. What was the most upsetting for me was some of their health practices. I watched the woman take an order, handle money, and then use her hands to pick up a piece of cake and put it on a plate. Tongs are cheap and should be required.

Coffee can be easily F’ed up(coffee snob speaking), but this café knows how to get the job done. This neighborhood café is tucked in the nooks & crannies of the Mission. I was walking on my way to the bus at 6:30AM& filtered through the cafes that are«Open Now» on Unilocal. This spot is great quick stop spot for espresso for your early birds like myself. Pluses: –Coffee isn’t overpriced. Double espresso $ 2.30. I’ll take it! –Quick Service –Sweet owner –Breakfast & Lunch options

They gave me the perfect double macchiato, as requested with all foam. Barista even asked for clarification in a friendly way. Kombucha, morning buns, paninis, bagels. YUM! Local art displayed on the walls.

Such a neighborhood stable! This café has a great selection of breakfast items, sandwiches(hot and cold), and salads. With wifi and ample seating, you can definitely spend a couple of hours in here with a sandwich and coffee. Highly recommend: Breakfast panini with eggs, provolone cheese, tomato, spinach, and a super delicious roasted red pepper mayo — $ 5.50 Spicy soppressata panini with dry Italian salami, spinach, tomato, onions, and another great spicy jalapeño mayo — $ 7.25 Dang their mayos are so good.

I had an iced latte with the Heavenly Veggie and my boyfriend had a blended iced mocha with a Blue Turkey panini. The iced latte was one of the best I’ve had since being in San Francisco. They don’t burn the coffee! The sandwiches are very fresh and tasty. The people behind the counter are very friendly and work hard to get the orders out quickly. We’re glad we stumbled upon this place!

I have been coming here for quite some time and the 5 stars is for their sandwiches. They are super simple but soooooo GOOD! I usually get the prociutto and mozzarella, but yesterday I decided to get the caprese sandwich. I was in heaven. So simple, but delish! I think it was just mozzarella cheese, basil, some green olives, a special mayo and… not sure what else, but I was freakin delicious. They have really good breakfast Panini’s as well. If your in the neighborhood and want a quick bite to eat, maybe craving a sandwich, this place is definitely worth a try.

Café Seventy8 occupies a rounded corner spot. food, expresso, wifi, lots of seatiing, and friendly staff. makes this place inviting menu: paninis, sammies, muffins, bagels, cookies, pastries . brew:(L1.90) –strong brew, not much character. drips: –fascinated, not wowed: many options in this ‘hood”. –metered parking –3.5 stars

Café 78 is an absolute gem. I’ve been enjoying this place for years and it never disappoints. Friendly people, creative vibe and the Blue Turkey panini sandwich has changed my life. ps I’m not a frequent Unilocaler but this place more than deserves a shout out. Enjoy!

Quaint little coffee shop in the Bernal Heights area. Free wifi, nice seats, and more importantly, kick-ass outside seating with blooming cherry blossom trees(where did they get those anyway?). Decent coffee shop to sit, hang out, and chill. The iced coffee was pretty good. Unfortunately, the shop closes quite early though, so unless you live around the area it’ll be difficult to visit during open hours.

I’m a big fan of this café. The first time(and definitely not the last) I came here, I had a cappuccino and a breakfast panini. My girlfriend had a fruit and yogurt partait and coffee. My cappuccino had a perfectly thick head of foam on top — made just the way a cappuccino should(unless you texture the milk instead, which is also a good option) — and was delicious. As we sat down to enjoy our coffee, I could smell the breakfast panini coming. It was savory, gooey and just the thing I needed to get me going that morning. Overall, it was a perfect place for breakfast and I will be coming back.
