The food was good but the service was meh and nothing to write home about. We were really excited to try La Nebbia after hearing great things about the restaurant. We were seated and our first server told us about the special pizza of the day which was delicious. The pizza was great. We started with the ricotta bruschetta which was okay(only comes with two pieces) and a mountain of vegetables. The meatballs were good and the truffle gnocchi was delicious. We were having a great time at dinner and ordered a second bottle to accompany dinner. We were finishing our last bottle and ordered dessert which was okay. Never in our life have we been approached by someone at the restaurant to tell us that the restaurant was closed. That’s really rude and not acceptable. Also, I spent ten minutes in line waiting for the bathroom because one of the male servers was in the bathroom the whole time and left an unpleasant scent in the bathroom after I went in. Nothing to write home about and not worth traveling that far again for the lackluster service we received.

This place is great, and family friendly. Great apps and salads, solid pizzas, large wine list. Nice place to go with kids or if no space at La Ciccia.

The lasagne and pizza were terrific. I was tempted to drop a star from four(for food) to three(for ambiance) because the restaurant area where they sat us(by the windows facing the street) was not clean. We arrived early, just after they opened in the evening on a week day. The windows were smudged with greasy prints. There were large food particles on the window ledge(not our food particles, so… gross). And the corner had a weird stale smell to it. But the food was so good I’m sticking to the four stars just based on the food and just hope the manager will read this and make sure the place is cleaner in the future.

We used to enjoy La Nebbia, but the service has gotten sloppy and cold. When the owner, Lorela, is there, it’s a friendly, well-run place. Tonight the kids were in charge, and the vibe was chilly and the service clumsy. The food was good, but none of the entrees arrived at the same time. The waiter could not have cared less.

I can’t believe it took me so long to write a review! I just love this place. I’ve been here probably at least 10 times. It gets busy so we usually eat at the bar, which I don’t mind one bit. Let me lay out the things I love about this place: 1. HUGE sparkling selection. How can you not love that? 2. The kindest and most attentive servers.(They all seem to be native Italian speakers so the pronunciation is on point.) 3. Amazing Neapolitan pizza 4. A million kinds of cured meat to choose from 5. BURRATA 6. burrata 7. BURRata 8. You get the picture 9. Oh also it’s a 5 minute walk from our house For some reason my husband is «tired» of La Nebbia right now(it might be because this is ALWAYS where I want to go when we are picking a place to eat out). Eventually I wear him down because I freakin love this place.

Pizza was okay… kind of soggy. The«new» menu was mislabeled panacotta with seasonal fruit. No fruit, but there was a purer that tasted like it was from a jar. The chef said that this is seasonal fruit. Hmmm.

This place was fantastic. We made reservations on Open Table because my dining companion knew it got busy there. We arrived, were seated promptly, and were met with a wonderful dining experience. They have a great wine list by the glass or bottle. We each had a glass as we shared the marinated olives and the Spaniards salumi flight. That Iberico is going to be something I crave often. I had the the special of the day, homemade ravioli made fresh that day. It was stupendous. We also shared a dessert which name escapes me but it was also delicious. The service was superb, the food was deliciuos, and I will definitely be back.

I would describe the gnocchi here as life changing. Such tiny flavorful puffs of potato. Who knew it was even possible?

I love this place. Simple menu, fresh ingredients, great flavors. It is primarily pizza-centric, and if you like Italian-style thin crust pizza, you will not be disappointed. The wine list is also very good — I love their Nebbiolo. Occasionally, they have interesting specials that are worth trying. All in all — a solid choice for a casual and tasty meal!

Great authentic Italian food and wine! The ricotta and smashed pea bruschetta is a must! The roasted veggie farro is also amazing. Make sure to ask for bread – great to soak up all of the sauces! Also, despite what other reviewers said, you can make reservations on OpenTable – recommend reservations because this place is always busy.

This is a cute little Italian spot in Noe Valley. They don’t take reservations but we were there on a Wednesday evening before 7 and were able to quickly get a couple of seats at the bar. We started with the burrata and ordered the pizza with pesto, potatoes and pancetta and the gnocchi for entrees. My favorites were the first two — the burrata with greens and the pizza — which were both very good. I was less enthralled with the gnocchi which were on the heavy /more dense side. I saw them making the charcuterie platter and the florettes of prosciutto and cured meats looked absolutely delicious. I definitely want to order that next time!

I have to admit I’m rather surprised, make that gobsmacked, about the low profile that La Nebbia has maintained since it opened early last year. After all, it has the instant Sicilian cred of husband-and-wife duo, chef Massimiliano Conti and Lorella Degan, who own La Ciccia right around the corner. Although it wasn’t perfect, I liked the culinary integrity and a lot of the flavors served up at La Ciccia when I tried it early in my Unilocaling days(review: ). La Nebbia struck me as a more mass-appeal osteria with a straightforward menu subdivided into six categories — appetizers, salumi and cheese, pizza, cured meats, home-style dishes and desserts(photo: ). This part of Noe Valley is charming and relatively quiet. I could imagine if this place was in Hayes Valley, there would likely be four times more Unilocal reviews. Jamie W. and I decided to take our pal Maggie there for her birthday, and my one palpable disappointment was being squeezed into a table for two at the end of their banquette. Regardless, it didn’t stop us from having a good time as the place crowds fairly quickly with small groups and young families whom I’m guessing live in the neighborhood. We started with a $ 4 small plate of Marinated Olives, very succulent and not too salty(photo: ). This was followed by two triumphant salads. The first was the $ 9 Artichokes, Mixed Greens and Moliterno Cheese(photo: ). It was refreshing and packed with flavor, but I have to say the standout was the $ 11 Calamari, Frisée Salad, Olives and Capers(photo: ). It was just the way the fresh squid was lightly marinated and nestled into the frisée that made me devour it with alarming speed. Of course, we had to share a pizza, and we picked a winner with the $ 16 Mozzarella, Assorted Mushrooms and Thyme to which we added Prosciutto slices for $ 5. The bottom was thin, a tad too moist for my taste, but with an inviting crust that was blistered and puffed up like a Sicilian mobster(photo: ). Definitely a solid pie worth trying again and again. As if the pizza was not enough, we gorged ourselves on another entrée. This time, it was the $ 14 Traditional Lasagna with Bechamel Meat Sauce(photo: ). It was genuinely delicious in its straightforward, carnivorous manner with plenty of tomatoes and ground meat. We were at the edge of gluttony, but it was Maggie’s birthday after all. That meant serious scrutiny of the dolci choices. We decided to share a slice of the $ 7 Panna Cotta with Fresh Strawberries with a scoop of Vanilla Gelato but not before Maggie got to blow out her candle(photo: ). A buttery, crispy $ 40 bottle of a 2013 Chardonnay Pertimali Livio Sassetti rounded out our meal with panache. Massimiliano came by to thank us for the business and ask about the quality of the meal. It was a nice, personal touch to our celebratory dinner. FOOD — 4 stars… solid, rustic goodness from the calamari to the pizza, goes for traditional flavors rather than something truly unique AMBIANCE — 3.5 stars… casual, crowded but not off-putting SERVICE — 4.5 stars… very attentive without being intrusive TOTAL — 4 stars… let’s just make La Nebbia our little secret, OK?

I am hesitant to write this glowing review of La Nebbia because there was a crowd inside and a crowd outside when we enjoyed our family dinner here the other night. It was a Friday, granted, so the restaurant was guaranteed to be swarmed by desperate foodies looking for a new experience. Rookie mistake, mommy. We went at retirement home dining hours, which meant we got a table simply because no one eats at 5:30 but people with young children who need to GOTOBEDDAMMITIT’S BEDTIMEYESIT’S STILLDAYLIGHT! We sat in the corner, by the door, and were happy for the table no matter what the seating arrangement because within a half hour the place was packed. Get with it people… the new, hip«thing» is to eat like a 90 year old. The menu read like a «choose your own adventure» book. A little bit of this and a little bit of that, and some of those and a handful of olives later, we were completely stuffed and excessively happy. It was a great dinner. No fighting, no arguing, no food fighting, just *chomp, chomp, chomp* and yummy noises galore. The gnocchi was rich, cheesy, saucy, and hid some tasty greens underneath it. The pizza had some of their choice meats from their extensive tasting menu of prosciuttos from all over the socio-economic map. We also ordered the bowl of olives, which was so generously portioned we had to take the rest home. The favorite was the burrata appetizer, however. My uncharacteristically greedy children ate it all and left me one single bite. That hurt me. It cut deep. I gave you life, you ingrates. Everything was tasty and we shall undoubtedly return, perhaps arriving even earlier than our usual retirement home hours. Follow suit, hipsters. We are *the* trend setters, after all.

The food! The wine! Amazing! You must come here, if only to try this or that on the menu, and maybe a glass or two of this or that, and feel the pleasure spread from your palate into your body as you savor the tastes. You must come here, if you love excellent food and wine. Enjoy!

Cute little date spot in the Noe Valley area! Get a glass of wine, share some house cured meats and share a delicious lasagna together! Sit up at the bar to watch all the kitchen action go down. I’ll be back for sure to try their pizzas!

So I understand why this restaurant would be rated 4 stars. But if only for my own personal reference, I rate it 3 stars. Our server was enthusiastic and friendly despite a large, super disorganized and unfocused group of girls. But the restaurant is super loud and there was no hope of having a conversation with the folks even half way down the table(we had a party of 8). Food was kind of mixed — and there was nothing I absolutely loved — and we ordered a ton. The crostinis with cocoa and anchovies as well as the Italian mixed prosciutto dish were both very good. Burrata was popular as were the cheese bruschetta. The gnocchi was really heavy, the mixed greens were okay, and the two pizzas were okay. The tuna was not at all what I expected since it was fully cooked and tasted like chicken, although in defense of the restaurant, the server warned me that it wasn’t seared and I didn’t hear him.

As a speciale, I heard that Massimo and Nancy added cauliflower w/speck and a very light whipped ricotta with a fresh hit of parsley, Bam! A winner w/the quacquarini sparkling vernaccia and verdicchio. To follow the staple for me; not to be missed, marinated artichokes with a light mixed green salad and pecorino moliterno… I paired this with a natural prosecco, lovely… where else will you have a selection of 2 natural white wines offered by the glass? Next, the gamberi… Also new to the menu, the grilled shrimp with Umbria beans and pickled onions went well with the Malvasia from Croatia. The shrimp were perfectly executed by chef Nancy with a dust of salt & pepper as well as the beans and pickled red onions with a note of arugula. The wine was a real winner, the Burja, Malvasia from the Istrian peninsula. Nose of comice pear and the smell of oyster shell and a sherry like quality reminiscent of the sea and a nutmeg spice. Later, I had to go red with this large bowl of heaven, so the 2011 peliserro barbaresco played well as a paring with the savory Zuppa di fagioli con prosciutto tagliato a dadini… bean soup w/diced prosciutto. I couldn’t eat everything… so I asked for my zuppa to go and shared it with my wife at home. Lovely staff, carefully thought out parings with great timing and patience… Lorella and Massimo, you’ve done it again. Thank you for the great meal. Ciao La Nebbia… Tutto bene. Bravi, grazie!

Great addition to the SF restaurant scene. Everything is well put together. 2⁄3 of the menu is cured meat and pizza. The wine list by the glass is fantastic. My favorite dish was the iberico special with three different types of cured ham. One was sweeter, one was like a serrano ham, and a third one reminded me of closer to a salume. Pizza was solid but better than delfina though. Good salad.

When the universe says no fancy date night restaurant, «It’s PIZZAFRIDAY!»: DO. NOT. ARGUE. Especially if the pizza is La Nebbia’s gorgeous mix of Mozzarella, Tomato Sauce, Olives, Garlic & Capers. The Lasagna was reportedly«Good but mine is better.» The Heirloom Tomato Salad and Burrata with Celery were also delicious but both were heavy on the anchovies. Apparently one of us likes anchovies and one of us does NOT.(Who knew?) Sweet stuff came in the form of a La Nebbia pizza guy letting a couple kids«make» their own pizzas. (Awwwww!) 8÷8÷2014
