Got the clam chowder in a bread bowl for around 8 bucks. Soup was creamy and warm, and bread was fresh. Definitely one of the better places to eat inside SFO

Had the turkey and havarti along with the chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. Chowder was bland but the sandwich was good.

I came here for a breakfast croissant and coffee. While the sandwich was ok, it was not the quality I would have expected from a Boudin location. For a bakery they offer terrible coffee. The coffee was way to hot and extremely bitter. I was also highly disappointed that the establishment didn’t offer soy milk, almond milk or any other milk alternatives. They also did not list a vegetarian friendly breakfast sandwich on the menu which I found very unusual for an airport location that has to cater to a vast multicultural customer base.

I have to say, forget the price, they made a great sandwich on their wonderful bread. I regularly get the Turkey Havarti sandwich when I leave out of the 80’s gates and it is always good. There is enough good turkey, not pressed, fresh to make it interesting and you can tell it is deli havarti and not packaged. And of course it comes on a great roll that they bake fresh. I have to say that this is about as good as airport food can get. While not cheap, nothing else is and for $ 12 bucks with a water overall it is my go-to

Had a layover at SFO and of course, when in SF, you need chowda. Since we didn’t want to leave the airport, we were lucky enough to have a Boudin inside. I have to say that airport food has definitely come a long way. The chowder isn’t as good as the original, but it did the job. It was still tasty. Is it just me or do they need to take some more of the bread out of the bread bowl so there is more room for soup? I felt like there was more bread bowl than soup. Other than that, did the trick for our layover!

To be honest, I don’t like their sandwich at all, way too dry. Clam chowder is good, the clam flavor is definitely there.

Probably the best airport food I’ve had! I had the Best of Boudin soup and sandwich combo, then upgraded my soup to a bread bowl($ 1 for an edible bowl, yes please!) Sandwich was probably not worth it, I think next time I’ll just get a soup in a bread bowl. I actually felt pretty scared seeing how big the serving was. I subconsciously felt eyes on me as I carried my feast back to a table to enjoy(oh, she must be taking that back to her family, right? NOPEALLFORME.) The clam chowder was delicious, it was more than filling, and it was surprisingly affordable! At airports I usually end up paying a ridiculous amount for a sub-par sandwich that isn’t even filling, so I was very happy with Boudin! I would definitely go here every time I fly out of SFO and need a quick meal!

I’ve been to Boudin in San Francisco and thought their food was tasty albeit a little bit pricey. This one is the same thing with a smaller menu but still tasty and pricey. I got the you pick two with garlic and tomato soup and a turkey avocado sandwich. Combo is about $ 10. The portions aren’t super large but I thought the flavor was decent. The soup was very creamy but probably could have used more salt. I liked the sun dried tomatoes! The sandwich bread was good and soft although the crust was very hard in comparison to the dough(could be a sourdough thing). To make this an even better sandwich, caramelized onions would have been so good.

Boudin’s is usually my first choice eatery when going through the SF Airport. Where else are they turning out fresh and creamy clam chowder bread bowls at 6:00 am?! I love their breakfast sandwiches on fresh-baked sourdough –ham, egg & cheese on buttery grilled sourdough. Their clam chowder is always tasty; not the best chowder I’ve had but always hearty and rich and served in their signature sourdough bread bowl. I stopped by Boudin’s on both my outbound and return trips and tried 2 different Boudin sandwiches. The havarti and ham on sourdough was good but the breakfast sandwich definitely outshined my lunch sandwich. Hot ham, egg and cheddar wedged between Boudin’s grilled sourdough made me very happy even at 6am among the busy throngs on people at the airport. Of course I threw in a bread bowl to share with my friend. They only had 3 people working in the café but they ran a smooth operation. The lady ringing up the orders did a perfunctory but polite job(too nice and you’d lose your mind with the load of people stopping by) and the sandwich-makers did a great job with the sandwich assembling and preparations. My coffee, sandwiches and bread bowls were all served fresh and hot. Great option for sating your appetite while at the SF Airport. I will definitely be coming back through next time I find myself at this airport.

Great place to stop during your layover… grab some of their amazing sour dough to go. Just don’t expect service with a smile because the customer service is pretty tragic.

I had an evening layover @ SFO and was planning to take a small loaf of Sourdough with me to my final destination. Seems simple enough right? It probably would’ve been but by the time I finished checking all the Football memorabilia they had showcased for the Upcoming Super Bowl 50 and finally arrived they had pretty much sold out for the day on take home Sourdough. The nice lady behind the counter saved the day though by selling me some dinner rolls including the fun pumpkin shaped ones!

Got the clam chowder when I had a layover here for breakfast. The bread bowl was not fresh like I expected it to be and there was very little chowder in the bowl with almost no clams. I was basically left with a lot of stale bread which for that price was not acceptable. I’ve eaten at Boudin’s before and it was much better than this. I doubt I’d stop here again when I’m at SFO.

I want to give this place 4 stars because it is one of the better dining options at SFO and the employees are super nice, but the food was just sub-par from my expectations. It is located in the same terminal as United Airlines. I was here at 6 a.m., and I wanted clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. Boudin in SF hasn’t disappointed me before, and I thought it wouldn’t be bad when they’re baking in the morning, but the clam chowder was just okay, and the bread was sooooo mediocre to the point of my questioning whether it was stale. Plus, it costs almost $ 10! Sad. Anyway, it’s quick and the service is friendly. I may consider giving other food options a try, but will probably not get the clam chowder in the bread bowl again.

Passing through the terminal and decided to grab a bite. I ordered the ham and egg croissant, with a juice. I wasn’t expecting much, figured it would be an overpriced, small sandwich. I was suprised, it was bigger than I thought, and much better tasting! It was everything it was supposed to be… flaky, buttery, warm, and gooey. This was a good sandwich. Wasn’t too crazy about the price, 14.44 for a sandwich, juice and cookie, but that’s to be expected at an airport.

This review is for the bread, only. My husband and I have only eaten here once, on a rainy day, for soup. It was good, but honestly I can’t give a fair review as I don’t remember it well. Whenever we make bread bowls or cheese plates at home, we stop by and get a loaf or baguette from Boudin’s. The crust on the bread is so perfect, and the inside so soft, chewy in just the right way, and as fresh as it gets. Love their sourdough! Totally worth stopping by and getting it here rather than picking up a lousy one from the store.

Had a lovely warm chowder soup bowl. Service was fairly quick, perhaps because it was past dinner time(9pm). The counter staff was whispering half the time when she was taking our order, could barely hear her. It was end of the day, so I guess they are probably really worn down. Soup and bread tasted yummy, as expected of boudin bakery. Ordered two cookies to go which was good too. Plenty of seats at least during the time I was there.

I’ve actually never had Boudin chowder before, so I decided to try it at the airport while I waited for my flight.(Not sure if that was the best idea…) We ordered: –1 clam chowder with bread bowl Pros: –I liked that the soup was not too creamy and heavy. Usually when I have other clam chowders, it leaves a weird after taste. Not bad! –sourdough bread was soft and«sour»! Yum! Dip it in the soup for sure. Cons: –my boyfriend and I each took a few bites but then we had already hit the bottom! Kind of a rip off since we paid $ 9.95 for a portion that was probably the same as a small. They could try digging a deeper whole in the bread bowl? –service was pretty okay. They gave us the food quickly but they were forgetful in giving us spoons… and when we requested napkins they literally only gave one. Overall, flavor is good that’s why I gave a 3. If not, I would probably give a 2. Definitely will try clam chowder from Boudin at a different location next time!

Boudin is usually a dependable go-to. Their chowders are alright, and the famous sourdough bread is delicious(a note to SF visitors: although their sourdough bread is decent, trust a local that it is not the best). Honestly, a lot of airports would benefit from having this SF chain in their food courts. They are of course slightly more expensive than their other locations, and the wait can be a bit longer as they do not have a lot of people manning this store. They also do not accept your Boudin Loyalty card. Solid, decent airport food.

Sure, I could have gotten this same soup for probably half the price at the Boudin down the street from my house in either Costa Mesa or Irvine, but there’s something about being in San Francisco and needing to have chowder. I didn’t have time to get myself some clam chowder during my weekend up there, so airport chowder in a bread bowl would have to do. I guess the nice thing about Boudin is it’s predictable. You know(roughly) what you’re going to get. My only wish would have been that the chowder was warmer. It was luke warm, which meant I was able to eat it(all) right away. Bread bowl was massive; it alone will fill you up. As you come out of security, continue on straight and you’ll come to the food court area where this is located.

Since having a layover in San Fran I heard that Boudin was the place to go for chowder. I got mines to go since I knew I was not going to finish that massive bread bowl and chowder in one sitting! I ate all the chowder, but didn’t finish a lot of the bread. If your like me and are stringent on eating the bread in a bread bowl, take it to go. I saved the bread for when I got home, and then bought a canned version of the creamy good stuff to go. Was not disappointed having it two nights in a row! What’s cute is that they offer animal baked bread loafs. I almost fell victim to buying a cute turtle or turkey for my niece and nephew. It’s cute but pricey! Figured they would want souvenirs that would last and wouldn’t be eaten, so I opted out on buying it. I also got the chocolate croissant which is awesome here! But too bad the service sucks here, the guy was rude to me. So three star rating from me.
