Breakfast toast cups here are top notch! Some items on the menu are a little pricey, but you can expect to get something good! Mocha was pretty good too. I’ve also heard good things about the iced coffee – particularly the mint mojito – so I’ll have to try that next time.

I visited for breakfast, ordered a cragle with sausage, banana bread and a vanilla cappuccino. Total was $ 15. Seemed a little over priced for the quantity /quality of food. The cragle was average — sausage is diced into cubes vs. a patty. Cappuccino was the same — nothing worth returning for. Rated 3 stars because it was average but certainly not memorable or worth returning for… the banana bread was great!

Okay eating experience. The shop is very small but clean and cozy. They take long to prepare the sandwiches and the average time is 5 – 10 mins. The place gets really busy at brunch times and the shop got packed with people waiting to get their food. We ordered the toast cup, the morning breakfast sandwich, the pesto cheese sandwich and the drop of the day coffee. The food was okay, everything tasted plain. The toast cup was disappointing, I do give them the credit of being creative but the flavor and the taste were not there. The coffee of the day was plain as well. The food may need spices/peppers or salt.

The service is slow, I ordered a pastrami sandwich and it took 10mins(2pm so it was after lunch rush). The bread was extremely hard and it actually cut the inside of my mouth. The pastrami is too salt, but I like the arugula and mustard sauce favor. Overall I would give it another try, maybe order something else that doesn’t involve injury.

Beanstalk café has a certain morning menu and baked goods served between 730am-930am. All other menu items are delicious and include items from turkey sandwiches to breakfast sandwiches and more. Great, quick pick up spot for a breakfast or lunch on the go. Very reasonably priced

Very very disappointed. I ordered a toast cup around 2 pm. The toast cup turned out to be very dry and basically not eatable at all. Inside the cup filling — running egg yolk and bacon. The cup was made with a thin layer of toast bread. I’m sure it would be a good breakfast if it were freshly mad. However, it was not the case. The egg was hard and basically, it looked like a plastic egg yolk. The toast cup(bread) was burned and hard. The cashier said they made it in the morning. I got it at 2PM, they should not sell me the toast cup because it’s old and dry. Overall, it was bad and I had to return it. Good thing they refund me the money. The shop should not sell it to the customers after 2 – 3 hours of shelve life. Because that toast cup is probably only good right after coming out from the oven. Tips: don’t ever get the toast cup after 11AM!!! You don’t want to eat a plastic egg and burned toast bread.

This place has great energy and service. The people working there were warm and inviting. We ended up getting the toast cups(they sold out of the cragel), an iced mojito coffee, and a chewy chocolate pretzel/pastry looking thingy in a cake holder at the counter. I forgot what it was called but I remember that the pastry was gluten free and he said he was going to name it after his daughter. Everything was good and I would recommend anyone who is in the area to drop by. Too bad we’re from La. I feel like my husband and I would be regulars here if we were from the bay area.

Best place to come for a quick, but high quality caffeine fix! I love their cappuccinos — they use double shots by default, so they really wake you up, and taste amazing. Super small space, so expect to take out. Seating is cramped, so you wouldn’t want to come for a laptop session or a long conversation. They also have great food! Highly recommend anything with the cragel!

Right by the hotel we were staying in on a recent trip to San Francisco. Read the reviews and decided to give it a go. Ordered both the bulgogi beef sandwich and a bagel sando and both were amazing. Bulgogi beef sandwich was filled to the brim with tasty tender beef and a tangy yet spicy sauce with cabbage and some rocket. I only wish they had put more spicy sauce and that they’d pickled the cabbage and carrots to give it a nice lift. The bagel sando looked like a regular and tasted like an unremarkable egg and bacon sandwich in a bagel. Tasty but nothing to write home about. Seating is sparse but accommodates about 5 or 6 and if you’re so lucky to grab a seat outside when the weather is sunny, enjoying a good sandwich in the sun is a luxury.

A cute coffee shop in Tender-Nob. I had their cappuccino. It was ok. The milk was a bit too hot so it ended up on the wet side unintentional. There were only a few seats but most people seem to get their coffees to go. There is also a bench in front. On a good day you can sit there to enjoy the precious sunshine in between downtown high rises.

Stopped by here after our flight got in and it hit the spot! I got their morning breakfast sandwich(bacon, eggs, cheese, lettuce, tomato), which was quite yummy! It tasted fresh and clean. Also got their iced coffee mojito brew which was what I needed after a 6 hour flight!

I came here after work on a Tuesday afternoon. I was scared that since it wasn’t morning, they wouldn’t be serving cragels anymore. To my surprise, they were still serving cragels! I ordered the Cragel with cream cheese and it was really filling! The only thing was that it was a little tough but it was definitely super unique. It was worth the walk up the steep hill! The café is really small with only 1 small table and a couple bar stools, so I don’t think coming here with groups of people would be very effective. This place is definitely a grab and go café.

3.5 stars. Enjoyed the toast cups. I wasn’t expecting that, since they seem kind of simple, but they were pretty delicious. The crust is really good(like Pillsbury crescent rolls, which I love), and it’s just so darn cute and easy to eat on-the-go. This is kind of a once-in-a-while treat though, since it’s pricey for how much food you get. I also tried the Korean bulgogi sandwich, which wasn’t bad, but just very non-Korean. The beef didn’t really remind me of bulgogi and it wasn’t spicy at all, but the sandwich itself held up really well with the crispier bun. Friendly family-run place. There are some tables, but it’s pretty small, so probably not a great working spot.

Delicious sandwiches! Came here based on Unilocal.Incredibly small sitting area so not good for large groups — inside is a table for 2 and a sitting area for 3 Bulgogi sandwich 5⁄5 — tasty marinated thin slices of beef with arugula on perfectly toasted bun Spicy chicken sandwich 5⁄5 — sliced chicken with gochujang sauce

Met Joe for lunch near Union Square, and with him being vegetarian, he found the Beanstalk Café. The place is tiny, with just two tables inside and two outside. But with the sun streaming through the big bay window, our cozy table experience felt like a tiny Paris café. This place literally had the very very best veggie sandwich I have ever had. Not even sure what’s in it, but it was out of this world. I can’t stop thinking about it even two weeks later. Highly highly recommended!

This is my current go-to neighborhood spot for getting my daily caffeine fix. It’s a very cute café with seating for about eight inside plus a couple of benches outside. It can get a little crowded on weekend mornings, but otherwise it’s usually easy to find a seat. If you’re pressed for time, you can pre-order online or by phone. Note that the online ordering doesn’t offer all the items on their menu, so you may want to opt for the phone option if you can’t find what you want there. I am a huge fan of their mochas: very tasty. They also offer a large selection of sandwiches and bagels. I usually go for their breakfast sandwich. The staff is extremely nice. One of the owners, Mina, is usually there to give a warm welcome to customers. There used to be a stamp card reward system, although they did away with it a few months ago. Nevertheless, Mina will still give me a free mocha or snack every now and then to honor repeat service.

Adorable little coffee shop with the CUTEST salt and pepper shakers but I’m so sad that my cappuccino milk was burnt and the foam had a lot of air bubbles. The burnt cappuccino milk made the coffee bitter so I had to add sugar. Meh. However, the mint mojito iced coffee looks good. I will give that a try next time.

TOASTCUP. CRAGELSANDO. These two items are not only original, but also one of the best breakfast items I have ever eaten. Please do visit when hungry and in search for a light(to go) fare. You will NOT be wrong with either option. The hot chocolate and latte were perfection. On a cold day, each helps you get all warm and fuzzy inside. Beanstalk: thanks a lot for the amazing breakfast. 5 stars for originality and exquisite taste!

Super friendly service(was greeted with a genuine smile upon arrival and before I left) and good food. I tried the toast cup($ 3.75) and grabbed two vanilla lattes to go. There was a little wait because of how reputable this café is, but it didn’t bother me too much. Overall, the café is small, with a counter to sit by and a little corner table. I wouldn’t rely on having a space available to sit when coming here. The toast cup was different, but tasty, and the lattes were made well. I would definitely come back and try some of the sandwiches because they look delicious!
