If you like lettuce, you’ll love this place. Service is good, though.

I’ll miss you… loved your friendly hospitality, loved your food, Korean rolls, bulgogi rice dishes and sandwiches… I’ll miss those cute little fruit snacks you gave with your meals. All the best to you, take good care.

Closed week of August 19. Such a sad day… King Subs, Bush/Powell, you and your spicy bulgogi monster subs will be missed.

Just want to preface my review with — I’ve worked in the food industry for over 20 years. I’ve eaten here a number of times and the food is good. I just left after watching the guy that makes the sandwiches clean dishes and straighten the kitchen while wearing the same gloves that he used to prepare my food. I asked for a refund. GROSS.

Came here for the first time to King Foot Subs. It’s a small shop with interesting Korean options and sandwiches. In addition to the Bulgogi sandwich, they also so the tradition Bibimbap, which is what I ended up getting yesterday. Service was very friendly, with a very neighborhood feel to it. The middle-aged man running the counter was nice. We ended up waiting a fairly long time since they missed my order, but my friends assured me that this doesn’t usually happen. The man gave us free chips and snacks while we waited, which was a very nice touch. Onto the food — I wanted to try the Bulgogi sandwich, but opted for the Bibimbap since that’s what my friends have gotten before and continue to rave about. While the sauce and the food toppings were good, the rice was kinda dry and not fluffy/light like I was expecting. Overall this is a decent lunch spot with very friendly service. I will definitely be coming back soon, and hopefully revising this to a 4-star review, once I try the other food items and get a better idea of this place.

I was very excited to try this place and boy was I disappointed. I guess all the great reviews are about the Korean sandwiches. I ordered a regular 7 inch turkey sandwich with all the vegies plus avocado. After I had already paid I saw that they have jalapenos, so I asked for some on my sandwich, she asked me for a quarter! Whattttttt? ok… I handed over a quarter! I was starving and couldn’t wait to eat. There was no avocado on my sandwich. I thought she made a mistake… but after a few bites I saw 2 sorry pieces of avocado in the sandwich. I’ve never had such stingy portion of avocado! Worse than that, there was no jalapenos in there either and this was after I had paid a quarter for it… again I saw a ring of jalapenos when I was almost done with the sandwich. unacceptable. The sandwich itself was nothing special. I prefer Subway. That should tell you something!

Bow down. To the king of sandwiches. Staff don’t act like royalty. Humble in fact. Welcoming. Friendly. Bit reserved considering the brilliance they are creating. That brilliance being sandwiches. Namely the grilled chicken with BBQ sauce. Small size is a ridiculous $ 3.99, not exactly small, and comes with a ridiculous taste. Pledging allegiance. And five stars.

I strolled up for brunch at 10am just when they were opening before heading to the airport. I wanted something Korean, and this looked pretty interesting considering it would be my only meal for the next 12 hours. Come in and started asking questions about the different sandwich types. Opted for the Kalbi since kimchi sounded good. There is a small counter to eat in the place, but I got it to go and took it to my hotel. Nice delicious sandwich, the 6″ was more than enough, it was packed with meat and goodness. It was worth it at about $ 7, and I would go back for a quick fix. It took a wile to make the sandiwdtch and they seem to microwave everything which is not ideal. Still tasted good.

Yum!!! My boyfriend and I saw the good reviews on Unilocal and decided to try it out. I ordered the Bulgogi and he got the Roast Beef. Wow, the bread was delicious. The sandwiches were both really tasty. We had to wait a little while for the food, but there was only one guy working the store, so it was understandable. Would definitely come back here if we were in the area again.

I ordered Spicy Bulgogi. Bread was fantastic! Order a medium if you are a starved female. If not, small size would have been adequate for me. GREAT for a solo diner. Party of two would be a tight squeeze. Perfect to-go option. VERY friendly woman at counter who I am assuming is the owner.

My friend & business adviser introduced me to this place yesterday and we split the king size«Kimchi Kalbi Sandwich,» and it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. I’m a huge fan of hot sandwiches and this was definitely at the top of the list. The sandwich was mouth watering. It had amazing sauces, lots of meat, and the portions were massive. They also threw in a small bag of Doritos potato chips(I like surprises). The Korean woman who works there is super friendly, but also a good salesperson LOL. If the place was bigger, I would have gave it a 5, but mom & pop shops are always the hidden gems that make them special so I probably wouldn’t change it. I just wish they had more locations all over. I will definitely be coming back with my girl & telling all my friends.

I love coming here for lunch or breakfast. It helps that I live around the corner because walking up Powell Street can be a bit brutal if you’re down in Union Square. If you find yourself walking along Bush Street though then it’s not too bad of a hill. Their bulgogi and kalbi subs are fantastic, and they also make a very good breakfast sandwich when they have the appropriate supplies. I love that they give you a small pack of Fruit Snacks with any order!

Only a small bar for seating, so it’s more a grab and go place. It’s a small family run place, so it can get backed up during the lunch rush. The lady is super nice though, really friendly and always asking after people(seems there are a good number of regulars that come). She also gave each of us a free bag of fritos just after we finished our sandwiches. The kalbi and kimchi isn’t spicy at all, and has a bit more flavor than the beef/bulgolgi but both were quite good, though don’t come with the expectation that it’ll be super exotic sandwich.

The Spicy Bulgogi Teriyaki was delicious. It had nice warm meat. The bread was soft but crunchy as toasted. It was soo good. I ordered a King which proved to be too much sandwich. I ate ¾ of it. She includes a blow pop and a Welch’s Fruit Snacks. This lady wipes the floor with my local Orlando Korean BBQ Taco box. Florida location… please.

I love this place, their bulgogi is so delicious in sandwich form or bimbop! The lady who owns the store is so kind and friendly, she usually throws in a fruit snack for free. I typically take out as its small but there are around 10 seats should you want to dine in. I highly recommend this spot if you live close by or are in the area. Its well made and very yummy!

i have been here a few times. i have only gotten the korean sandwiches and they are quite tasty. I had the spicy pork bulgogi one today. the regular size is enough to satisfy me; but if you like being a beast, go for the king size. the korean lady behind the counter is so nice and sweet. she always greets everyone and gives you a free fruit snack with your food. if it is your first time here and you like korean food, you can’t go wrong with the kalbi sandwich. it has kimchee! the bim bop rolls are yummy to snack on too! be prepared for a free fruit snack :)

Dear Kalbi Kimchi sub, Thank you for your sharing your flavors with me. Your crispy exterior and perfectly proportioned interior make such a great combo with my taste buds. Your existence is truly appreciated; you are unique, and there is none other like you. I know you will go on to make a lot of other people happy, and that’s what makes you special.

Best SANDWICH Place in San Francisco!(with Ike’s; I love Ike’s too) The Korean Sandwiches are amazing! I like the Kalbi one the best, but Bulgogi is just as great. Great taste, generous proportions, affordable. I crave it almost everyday. The lady working there(probably the owner) is also really nice. She gave me free spam musubi the other day, and some free desserts every now and then. She will also try her best to remember your name and what you do. This place is great. I’d go there almost every day for lunch if I could.

OMG, the Kalbi Kimchi sub is SOOOOOO goooooooood. It comes in 3 sizes: Small, Regular, or King. I opted for the Regular sub for $ 7.29. It comes with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, slivered onions, melted swiss cheese, kimchi and KALBI… I’ve never had a sandwich like this before. Everything in it married very well together and the bread was toasted to perfection — soft yet slightly crisp. YOUMUSTGETTHEKALBIKIMCHISANDWICH. You’ll thank me for it! The only downside to today’s lunch was paying $ 2.99 for an Orangina. I’m bringing my own water next time! :(
