one of the best enchiladas michacanas, great services and friendly staff.

the tacos are good, when they get it right. i always ask for them with no salsa and its a hit and miss i get them with salsa and then i have to throw them away because they cant follow directions. when i went back to ask them to re do they refused. their customer service is horrible! they only take your order and arent polite at all. i get your busy but it wouldnt kill you to smile! I have tried so many times to go backa nd give them a chance to make it right and,… nope!!! now i only go when the taco truck infront ELROYS isnt there and i have to tell them 10 times NOSALSA if i want them to get it right. its just such a hassle. i love salsa but i have a 1 year old and their salsa is spicy as heck! not good for a one year old…

This place is the most authentic Mexican food in the county! Don’t let the truck fool you place has excellent food. The carne Asada gordita and quesadilla are my favorites. As much as I want to keep this spot a local secret they deserve the exposer. Remember to just enjoy the food.

I love love love the food, service and atmosphere… I always order their enchiladas michacanas with no meat… Their vegi torta made to order… Their vegi tacos… It’s like eating at grandma’s house… Am very picky and demanding… And not once have I ever had a bad experience…

I had a «bachelor weekend» and was in search of foods I like to eat that the mrs doesn’t. So I decided to try the lengua tacos at La Fondita. Oh, my stars. What a perfect taco. The tortilla was so fresh it was fragrant, and it had been crisped just a tiny bit. The lengua, the toppings, the fresh cilantro… it was the same ingredients of any old taco, but all of it was perfectly selected, perfectly fresh, perfectly prepared. The lengua was moist and flavorful. The salsa was delectable. It was like a really great martini or oyster: so simple and yet so clearly top-drawer. Plus: even for a taco truck, the service was impeccable. This is just a review of one experience at the food truck, but that taco was the stuff memories are made of.

Ah the tacos, so authentic, so good, and only &1.99. A step up from a hole in wall, great selection, good beer selection. A real keeper.

La Fondita is good. The chips come out with some of the best salsa I’ve ever had. They also server there chips with a side of bean dip. It’s an amazing combo. I’ve enjoyed their taco salad with the carne asada. This is great. The super burrito is SUPERBIG. If you order it, share it or take some home. Overall, this place is great.

This place is ALWAYS packed whenever I come, no matter what time! This was the first restaurant that made me fall in love with tacos. Their steak/lengua is NEVER dry. There’s always so much flavor in each bite I take *drools*. I usually get the spicy sauce on the side(and dab a little onto my bites) just because I can’t really tolerate the spicyness. We also usually order grilled onions, burrito rice and jalapenos on the side. This place opens until 2am so it makes a great place to have a late night snack! The only recommendation I would suggest is having some guac along with my tacos :)

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for the last couple of years, and over the last six months meals and service have been slipping. Today, we were all disappointed with our meals. The dinner plates with what would have been maybe 2 tablespoons of beans smeared on the plate. The carne asada was dried out. The chicken mole had plenty of chicken, but the chicken was dried out(sure let’s just smother it in the mole sauce and no one will know the difference.) The other meal with chicarrones with nopales, lacked flavor. The meals were sub-par. The cleanliness of the tables and chairs is questionable(food particles smeared on salt shaker, dried particles of food left on chairs.) The service, not what I would have considered even fair. The waitresses seemed to be more interested in socialize with each other at the main counter. My expectation is that the waitress is interested in the wants of the guests and how she can make our meal and visit more pleasurable. The behavior of the staff was that of one who is there because they have to. Whatever happen with service with a genuine smile. This is not the first time we experienced this kind of service, but we wanted to be fair, in case they were having an «off day.» So, we came back. On a previous visit, I had requested a meal with nopales(cactus), and when I got my plate, it did not have any on it. When I brought it to the attention of the waitress, she said they ran out of nopales. So instead of notifying me, they went ahead an gave it to me without the nopales. The obligatory apology after the fact seemed unreasonable to me, but I didn’t make waves. They should always notify the customer if the item cannot be served as shown or described on the menu. I think I’m done. Done with this restaurant.

I would give this place 5 stars but my last experience left me in a sour mood. I would say food is better at the taco truck outside. So I had an office order called in by my staff and she ordered some things at the truck and inside the restaurant for entrees. I went inside the restaurant first and paid by cash thinking I had enough for cash at the truck. But unfortunately I was a few dollars short. So I went back to the restaurant to explain my predicament and asked if I could get my cash back and pay by card so I could pay the truck. They said no, making me drive to the atm and back. Pretty irritated and couldn’t believe the lack of customer service. Sad to say, I’m going somewhere else for tacos.

Instead of La Fondita it should be called La Fondon’ta! 1. Glad we traveled here by RV. 2. The server had no idea about the menu. 3. The restroom is GROSS!!! 4. Those weren’t margaritas! 5. The food is unbelievably unseasoned. Glad about the RV because I needed the toilet after eating my burrito. My husband ordered a combo from the menu, wanting rolled potato tacos and the server said the menu was wrong and could not order that. The server did not know if lard was used in the beans or rice. When asked, she said, «I don’t know.» Wow! How about finding out? It’s OK not to know, but to not find out??? The restroom needs some serious attention supply-wise, cleaning wise and smell wise. What we got when ordering margaritas were two glasses of ice with some weird high fructose corn syrup yuckiness! No tequila! Not a drop was detected for 7.00 dollars each we got snow cone syrup in a glass that the server nearly spilled on us. The salsa was average, the chips tasted stale, the guac was inedible, beans watered down too much. In contrast, the tortillas that were served hot table side were delicious, almost as if they were made daily. I don’t know how we could have had such a miserable experience on so many levels. The server should have figured something wasn’t right when we didn’t finish our drinks or food. Too bad for declining service and food these days.

First time coming here to the restaurant side. The taco truck is amazing. The salad is amazing but the chips they give you taste like these bought from Costco in the big bag. the beans taste like they are from a can they have no flavor. The food came out very fast. But the food wasn’t that good. I got steak fajitas usually when one orders fajitas they come out on a sizzling skillet not on a plate so they weren’t that hot the meat had no flavor at all. Our server didn’t come back until she brought the check. The other lady wouldn’t even make eye contact with you. But the prices are decent just wish the food and service were better.

The salsa served withe the chips was excellent and I was very excited about my entrée selection. I ordered the customized three combo plate(chicken verde enchilada, bbq pork soft taco, and a stuffed chile) with rice and beans. I really liked the first 2 items but was really disappointed by the stuffed chile. I’m also not a fan of runny pureed beans. I’m willing to go back but not for the stuffed chiles!

If you live in Santa Rosa or a surrounding area, you like Mexican Food and you haven’t been to La Fondita… WHATAREYOUWAITINGFOR??? Okay yes, it is a food-truck but it and the restaurant its parked next to are the best Mexican Food that I’ve had in Sonoma County. I’ve had a lot while I’ve been here, I mean come on, both of my kids were basic made out of Mexican Food and Froyo. And you should trust this Cali Girl’s opinion on Mexican Food because I’m not just a Californian, I’m from LA where we take our Mexican Food seriously. I’ve also lived in SD where that sheet is real life. I usually get a plate full of tacos and a apple soda. Trust and believe.

My favorite taco truck in Santa Rosa! I always get the tacos de lengua, tacos de asada and tamales de elote. The huarches and elote con chile y queso(corn on the cob) are also super delicious! The al pastor tends to be too greasy and I also think their sopes are a little thick for my liking but other than that when I stick to the things I usually get, I’m a happy camper!

tacos are really nice. the carnitas is juicy and flavorful. good mix of ingredients. these little things are what brought this review up to 4 stars. really cheap too. $ 1.50 each. carne asada plate was good but not especially remarkable. the outdoor seating is a little bit sad since it faces right out onto the roadway. but who cares. come get some delicious authentic $ 1.50 tacos!

This review is for inside the Taqueria. We just went a few nights ago, because it was late on a week night, and the choice of restaurants open late on a weeknight are very slim around Santa Rosa. Also, this place is pretty close to our house so its convenient. Anyhow, we had a wonderful meal as always. My girlfriend wanted to try something different than her usual vegetarian burrito. So she asked our waitress what she would recommend? The waitress proceeded to say don’t you usually get the vegetarian burrito? I was surprised that she remembers exactly what my girlfriend orders… So she proceeded to ask, are you a vegetarian? How thoughtful… the gf replies with no I’m not. So the waitress responds with, you should try the Enchiladas Verde. So my girlfriend got that, and I got the Taquitos doratos with chicken. Both dishes were fantastic!!! I’d also like to mention, I have read some other peoples reviews for this place, and they seem to be disappointed. It seems to me they might be disappointed because they are ordering burritos etc. And that’s really not what this place is good for. You have to get out of the box, and try some more traditional Mexican dishes when you visit La Fondita. Because this is where they really shine! Try the Enchiladas Verde, Taquitos doratos with chicken, or the Gordita with carnitas… This isn’t your typical white washed Burrito joint, so don’t order like it is…

Go inside to eat inside or you can order from the outside food truck to just get it to go(cash only). The service inside is pretty good and the waitresses speak English well. I got an asada super burrito. The asada was really good, but the burrito itself wasn’t that great. The size was probably the smallest super burrito I’ve ever seen. It was filled with unconventional things like lots of grilled onions, not that much sour cream, and no guacamole! The price was what I considered mediocre. Free chips and salsa, but the chips are not home made.
