Not the warmest greeting when we walked in. The waitress was to busy talking to the cook while I was waiting for a coffee refill. Eggs were good sausage was salty, pan cakes were like rubber. Not the best in town.

It’s a nice and cozy place, especially if one sits by the window facing the creek. There is always a long waiting time, so for breakfast get there early. Pancakes were satisfying and the service was decent.

Hank’s employs some of the best wait staff around. If I ate the same meal every time I came they would surely have it ready before I arrived. However, I don’t and try to keep them on their toes by ordering something different almost every time. They are quick and I have never been let down.

Hank’s is no doubt a local favorite. I came here on two Saturday mornings ago before attending a wedding nearby. While hangry, I waited and waited and waited patiently. If you’re not from this neck of the woods, you’ll then realize how slow the service can be even after you are seated. Since I walked in for breakfast alone, the near 10 minute waiting time before I was helped with food ordering felt like an eternity. The coffee man did spot me in a timely manner and served me attentively. There, I ordered a scramble with its house made biscuit as a side option amongst a variety of toast. The food took a whopping 20+ minutes, but patiently I wait and restraining myself from crawling across the street to the local IHOP, my food finally arrived. The biscuit is soft and moist. The scramble was aok and so were the bacon. All in all, it’s a great joint for breakfast, and that expect to wait during the weekend.

Hanks has the best corned beef hash ever. Many restaurants don’t get the hash right. Hanks is on point. Staff was friendly.

Awesome food and friendly people. The family that owns and operates the restaurant invests with their heart and their humor into the restaurant. Corn beef hash and eggs Benedict are staples and they have the best bacon around.

This place is always busy, but a quick turn around. The service is impeccable and very friendly, you really feel like you’re over at their house and waiting for them to cook you breakfast. I ordered the corned beef hash… I usually like the canned kind, and they make their own and it was AMAZING! the beef is thinly sliced and ground into the homemade hashbrowns… I WILL order it again. Definitely experience this place if you can, everything on their menu is of great flavor.

Hank’s Creekside Restaurant is small and quaint, with the friendliest staff and cook. Seating is open so you pick the table yourself … and if you walk to the back there is a nice view of the creek and woods. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, Corned Beef Hash, and hot chocolate. The bill came to $ 20.50 … not bad at all! The Eggs Benedict was AMAZING! The hollandaise sauce was rich, creamy, and tasted so yummy. The hash was made with hashbrown strips instead of cut potatoes which is unique. My only complaint is the parking. When I arrived, there were many spaces open so I had no issues, but when I left all the spots were taken up and someone had parked behind me. I could barely squeeze out of the space with my Yukon XL. Ekk!

One of my favorite spots to hit once in awhile on my way into work. Great omelettes and hash browns. Super friendly staff and great prices! Just make sure to get there early to avoid a large line.

My favorite go to place for breakfast. It’s packed on weekends so expect a wait. Super nice staff. I like everything I’ve tried on the breakfast menu: Poached eggs Omelettes Corned beef hash Bacon The potato skillet plate However, what I don’t care for are the pancakes. They’re way too thick, and just absorb all the syrup. I’ll stick to the eggs.

I remember coming to this place all the way back when I was in high school. The fact that there is nearly always a 5 – 15 minute wait on weekdays and a longer one on weekends is proof positive that the customers keep coming back as they have for decades for this fine greasy spoon faire elevated by a cute charming location, fresh ingredients, friendly staff and a nice view of the creek below. Great, solid, no complaints, and worth the wait, if there is one. Try the eggs benedict or the chicken fried steak. There’s a lot of great breakfast spots in Santa Rosa. This one is one of the greats. Enjoy with a couple of friends.

Came for a Saturday brunch — busy but waited about 10 – 15 minutes. Biscuits and gravy were amazing — get with cottage fries. Omelette was on par(nothing special but nothing bad either). Walnut cinnamon french toast done well. Parking can be tight if busy. Next to a seedy looking liquor store. Otherwise good option for lazy weekend eating.

The reviews were right: loaded with character, friendly, great food at value prices. There’s nothing fancy here, but they serve up a great, big slice of Americana.

This place was fantastic!!! The tall, redhead waitress was phenomenal. When I ask for ranch for my fries, every place is never accommodating. This woman brought it in every way. Being 42 and pregnant I have gotten picky. The corned beef sandwich… perfect. Husbands chicken fried steak… perfect. But the service was the frosting on the already wonderful cake. We found our new spot.

Awesome!!! Just had breakfast there for the first time after hearing about it for so long and it really is as good as everyone says it is. Family owned and operated and the service reflected a happy home style atmosphere. Food great! Service great! Our new breakfast spot

Wow! Very rarely do I write a restaurant review shortly after eating there for the first time — I always like to try a couple different things on the menu before putting in my two cents. However, Hank’s was so delightful and I had such a wonderful experience that I feel like this review is immediately necessary. I was on this side of town early this morning with my mother because she had a dental appointment, and we were both hungry afterwards. We have driven by Hank’s many times, have heard stellar things, and always say we are going to try it once and for all, but we never do because we are so busy all the time. But today, we decided, was the day. We were greeted promptly, and chose a table with a clear view of the creek. It was beautiful and definitely created a unique ambience that was not only comfortable, but relaxing as well. The service was very friendly and our server was attentive and absolutely sweet! The inside has a very rustic feel to it, with cute pinecone decorations dangling from the ceiling. I ordered the California Benedict with hash browns, and my mom got eggs, fresh fruit, and biscuits. We were both in heaven. The food was so fresh, so delicious, I don’t think I’ve had a better breakfast in my life before coming to Hank’s. The hollandaise sauce was tasty and creamy, my hash browns were soft in the center but crispy on the outside(as they should be), and my mom’s biscuits were fluffy and fantastic. They also didn’t skimp on the eggs, which was nice, since lots of breakfast places tend to do that. The only cons I can think of were that it was very chilly and cold inside. However, I believe I overheard a customer ask one of the workers when the heater was going to be fixed, so I’m assuming it was broken and that the restaurant is usually not that cold. The parking lot is a little crazy and difficult to exit from, but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the good food, service, and experience. I will definitely be back, Hank’s is #1 for breakfast for a reason. Service: A+ Food(freshness, quality, portions): A++ Cleanliness: A+ Ambience: A+

Delicious fresh breakfast items & friendly staff. Very busy place, alittle on the noisy side and long wait times. All because of their great food! we grab our morning feeds here. Best place in Santa Rosa

Tasty food. This establishment is ALWAYS busy. Usually a line outside the building for customers waiting to be seated. Home made biscuits. Fluffy, creamy and spectacular with whatever you want to put into it. Omelettes and scrambles are great. Haven’t had anything else so I can’t say. The employees are extremely friendly and go above to make your day enjoyable. If you can’t decide on what to get ask. Ask your waitress or your neighbors.

What is not to like? Really great breakfast food in an atmosphere that does not feel like it was drawn up by some corporate drone in a city somewhere miles away. The hash browns are phenomenal and the coffee is good and strong! Hint: Go early or be prepared to wait for a table. Better yet, if you go on a day when I am also going, please wait for me to put my name in for a table — so I do not have to wait even longer. :)
