The food here is pretty good for sure. The reason for the one star rating is for the staff(2 waitresses) were very rude on my last visit. This ISNOT a kid friendly establishment as they were not happy with my 3 year old daughter waving and playing peek a boo(while staying in her set and still being quiet.) They served us our food at separate times, coffee never was refilled even after asked. Very sad because the food is good here.

I have to say that writing a review for the wedge BLT with homemade blue cheese dressing sounds absurd — but if you have never had this, it is a must! Plus my flatiron steak was perfectly prepared, and the icing on the cake — they have J Curvee bubbly! Our server was attentive and had a very happy face. If there is a reason it’s not a five star, I felt the wonderful mashed potatoes could have been a larger portion… Bruno’s is family owned, I believe.

Found on Unilocal as we are staying here on trip to Redwoods. Pretty small nicely appointed upscale Café. Packed with customers with a couple of small tables open. Seated immediately and given the specials. Had the Flat Iron steak/Bleu Cheese Crumbled on top. Came with shoe string French fries. Wife had smoked Salmon/risotto. Steak was great with the Bleu Cheese. Came cooked to perfection hot and yummy. Wife’s Salmon was the gem tonight. Had a small taste and had order envy really bad. What a winner… Risotto was done perfectly and seasoned with fresh herbs. If you like Salmon this is the BOMB!!! My steak was pretty good and meal just what we were looking for after traveling for 9 hours. If in the area you must stop by. Not open on Mondays. Reservations probably a must on weekends. Thanks again to Unilocal for a little gem.

Tried to come here for lunch but just missed the cut-off time. Finally, today we had a chance to have an early dinner here at this cozy restaurant. We got the salmon with vegetables. It was pretty good. I enjoyed it. The restaurant is a bit small, maybe 10 tables or less.

I love This place! The only down side to it is that they aren’t always open at the dates and times listed on their website.

Just heard of this place tonight so we thought we’d check it out. American comfort food is right. Small dining area, but went in at just the right time, so we got a table for 4 instantly. Two kids and two adults. They had a kid menu +. Kids all get some veggies, fruits, cheese and crackers in addition to the meal. My wife and I had this amazing appetizer, thinly sliced roast beef on warm sour dough with cheese and gravy. A meat bruschetta if you will. Was awesome! Want more. I went for the ultimate comfort food. I had the meatloaf with mashed taters and veggies. It was so very yummy. One small, Italy bitsy complaint was that the meatloaf fell apart too easy. Did not stay in loaf, but seriously such a minor point. It was covered in gravy and had nice thick slices of bacon on it. I devoured it probably faster than I should have. I already miss the taste. I wish we had room for dessert, because I really wanted to try the bread pudding. Next time I’ll go light. And there will absolutely be a next time. The wait staff was very nice and pleasant. One even offered to help my daughter spell a word for hangman. Really great people. Location was excellent. Plenty of places to park and I am sure a lovely walk for the people in McDonald Avenue area. Highly recommend.

Delicious! Last night we split the bruschetta special(on the restaurant week AND regular menu currently), which was apple chutney with brie, along with a wedge salad. YUM. Bruschetta was unique and perfect and the dressing on the wedge was awesome. Had the pulled pork sandwich for my entrée and bf had the meatloaf. My sweet potato fries and his mashed potatoes were equally as good as our entrees! Good wine and good service. I like eating at the bar here. Very classy but cozy.

I think I had the best meal I’ve ever had at a restaurant the other night… your smoked salmon over perfect risotto… Heaven. It was a special. Omg I hope I can have that again. Devine!

I’m sort of torn on whether to give this place 3 or 4 stars. 3.5 would be best suited really. The food was pretty good, I had the braised beef short ribs and they were very tasty, the sauce was nice too and the horseradish cream had a nice kick to it without numbing your mouth or being too overpowering. However, the veggies that came with it(green and yellow courgettes/zucchini) were way overseasoned. I feel like the chef must’ve dropped his pepper grinder on it. If it was a one time thing, I’m okay with it as mistakes happen and all that jazz, but my girlfriend(who got the fish & chips with sweet potato fries instead of normal fries) had the same thing happen to her sweet potato fries. They too were very much overseasoned. Service needs work too as it was a bit on the slow side to say the least. I got the impression the kitchen was understaffed(2 people for the whole restaurant seems a tad on the low side to me). In summary, it has a good basis, but needs further refinement.

Excellent food and service. My wife had the Ravioli in the Garlic Cream Sauce — while I had the Flank Steak with Blue Cheese and a side of Fries. I have no idea what the sauce was on my steak but I practically ended up licking the plate. My only minor grouse was my steak was cut which makes a nice presentation but I prefer to cut my own steak. We split the Chocolate Brownie Sandwich for desert which was absolutely delicious. Good coffee which is a plus in my book.

Went for lunch. Had the Chalkboard Special which was a brisket sandwich on a brioche roll with thousand island cole slaw and fries. The fries alone are worth a visit. Brisket was tender and mouthwatering. My wife had the wedge salad. Classic style, great flavor, wonderful bacon. You gotta try this place!

I’ve come to Bruno’s a couple of times already. Have not been disappointed with anything I have ordered! The food is very tasteful. They start you off with a small basket of warm bread with butter. We brought a wine bottle of our own and were charged $ 12 corkage fee which is a little more than I’m use to paying but totally not an issue since their food is delicious. I have ordered the meatloaf which was great. I also ordered the lemon shanti which was great also. The last thing I ordered when I went was the braised ribs and they were the best! Hard to pick which dish I liked more since the were all awesome. We ordered dessert that was amazing as well! Will keep coming back for sure!

Amazing. While waiting for the main dishes to arrive Jay kept the glasses and the bread bowl full. Squash ravioli light and tasty Flat iron steak arrived as ordered, rare with enough sauce and blue cheese to the finish Kimberly also kept the table flowing till the bread pudding was gone from the plate. 3 Very Satisfied customers! !

Dined here on a Sunday evening after a taste of their worldly delights at an event the day before that they partially catered. My Honey was so impressed that he was very eager for us to try out the restaurant. So, try them we did, the very next evening! We were greeted and seated promptly, however, we were the only patrons. We brought our own wine, and corkage is a reasonable $ 12.00, and wine list is minimal and not impressive, so recommend you bring your own favorite. Server brought us the most yummy bread, but not enough butter to put on it. A few tables filled up as we waited patiently for our wine service. After beverages were served to three tables seated after us, I was no longer feeling patient over the lack of service. We ordered the butternut squash ravioli as an appetizer to split, even though it is listed as an entrée. Trust me the portions are appetizer size and not an entrée. The dish was presented beautifully, very visually appealing. However, the raviolis had temperature issues. Some had a very yummy warm filling, others had cold fillings. The sauce was outstanding. My honey ordered the ribeye steak special. It was just ok, as the meat was of poor quality for the price charged. I had the braised short rib. Such a major disappointment. The cooking process and the sauce were perfect, but the rib itself was all bone and fat. Again poor quality meat selection. For dessert we had the Apple Gallette. This dish was stunning in both presentation and taste! A total WOW! So when we asked about dessert, the server told us she did not know if they were good because she was gluten free. Seriously wrong answer. I heard her tell another patron who asked for a wine recommendation a similarly rude brush off. How about saying«I recommend this and it is our most popular… wine, dessert etc…» really her responses to questions about the menu left us baffled. So, I was completely underwhelmed by our dining experience here. Would not go out of my way to dine here again. Overpriced underwhelming food and poor service.

Cute spot. We were greeted immediately and sat at a table near a window. We were quickly served ice water and bread. Our meal started w Bruchetta of steak and sweet onions. Yum. The house salad was basic. Nothing special. Entrée were flank steak w fries and Shauntee Chicken. Both deelish. The staff checked on us several times Bruno’s has a house beer, but I went for a Widmere. I’d def come back.

My first visit and won’t be my last! yummy lunch here yesterday and thanks to Tonya for her excellent service. Our food was all good comfort food — just as advertised. A crispy fat reuben sandwich with some of the best skinny perfectly cooked french fries I’ve had anywhere. One friend got the cobb salad which you can see is huge, fresh and beautifully presented. The other got the creamy tomato soup with a perfectly cooked 2 cheese grilled cheese sandwich. All super tasty and yummy! Can’t wait to try their dinners next!

I ate here about a year ago and thought everything was good. I was reading a Unilocal friend’s review and thought it was completely opposite of what I experienced and thought I should do them justice by this. My friend and I met his cousin and husband here after wine tasting. Some places feel the need to put a twist on the classic Caesar we all love — this one was very good, the only difference is it’s called«Crisp romaine with parmesan croutons and garlic dressing» — funny. My friend had the Harry’s clam chowder with applewood bacon and it was very good and tasty. I had the Flat iron steak, blue cheese, red wine reduction with fries for $ 19.00! Tender and Juicy Steak — you can get the blue cheese off of it if you like. My buddy had the Braised beef short ribs, potato croquette, horseradish cream — WoW, very good. Someone else had the Half Pound Burger and it was big and juicy, well seasoned and plenty for dinner($ 12.00). Good wines by the glass, decent list. And I really liked the atmosphere of this small dining room. It was cozy and we didn’t feel crowded by other tables. Also, the waiter was sharp and friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. Really Good meal and great prices — $ 12.00 — $ 19.00. I know burger places that charge more for a hamburger.

Good, solid bistro food. Fresh ingredients. Service is very solid. Friendly and accessible. Good salads, good sandwiches and the like. We frequently go for business lunches and they have an «eleven for $ 11» list. All items that they prepare quickly and cost $ 11 so you can get in, get served and eat quickly(if that is your thing). [Note, for those of us who have been around it used to be the«ten for $ 10 but who is counting?] They make good iced tea. The wedge salad and BLT’s are two of my favorites. When I walk by at night, the dinner crowd seems a little more subdued. I have not been for dinner but it seems like they do a little more intimate, slow paced dinner. If you have a lunch meeting in the area, worth checking out.

It’s hard to find a good crab cake bene’…a lot of places will use imitation crab meat, or if real, will use a lot of filler. This was very well done. A generous amount of crab, and a few capers, lightly battered and cooked to perfection. The eggs were also just right, poached soft, with a well pronounced lemon hollandaise. A lil’ garnish could of went a long way, either some fresh snipped chives with the traditional cayenne dusting, or maybe a lil’ side of fruit. After all it was an $ 18.00 plate. The potatoes were nice and crispy, with not a lot of seasoning, a little plain, but still good. It’s a nice quaint lil’ dinning room with a bar area if eating alone. They have about 4 micro brews on tap, and a wine list also. Very friendly owner and waitstaff ta boot. I’ll defiantly go back, maybe to them for dinner. Check them out.

We came to Bruno’s for a family dinner with the in-laws. It’s a small neighborhood restaurant with seating for maybe 30. It’s mostly street parking with a few spots in an similarly small parking lot in back. Not too pricey with entrees topping out in the low $ 20 range. I started with the clam chowder which is creamy New England style with applewood bacon( ). I like it a little thicker, but this was pretty good with lots of tender clam meat. The g/f had the Almond Encrusted Salmon with Pesto Buerre Blanc, matshed potatoes and vegetables(green beans ). Moist and flavorful fish went well with the sauce. The beans were on the crunchy, slightly under-done side, but I prefer that to over-cooked and mushy. I had the Meatloaf which also came with mashed potatoes and the same green beans(which seemed to be the«vegetable» of the night ). The meatloaf is bacon wrapped with a ketchup topping. It doesn’t sound that exciting, but this was really flavorful and had another very good sauce. Friendly service. Very accommodating with our picky niece’s food requirements.
