Update: This tiny«biz» was purchased by the Café Des Croissants folks of Santa Rosa fame(or better infamy). IMy negative review of that biz garnered me some real hate mail from employees and customers. My opinion stays firm Café des Crossaints makes chewy, gummy, thick & heavy pastries that are belly bombs. The store on 4th street @ Brookwood is flthy dirty. My lovely wife just came from the new Oakmont outlet(the former Dodo caffee’). She brought me an almond croissant and a pain du chocolat. Both are as heavy as wet pizza dough. They are gummy and hard to chew. Flavor is acceptable. But the mouth feel and texture sucks. None the less this bakery chain gets the people’s award every year in the weekly Bohemian newspaper. Whcih proves that 90% of the peiple in Santa Rosa wouldn’t know a real french pastry if it fell on them from the sky. Can you really blame a provincial population that was raised on Sara Lee pastry? _________________________________ Previous review which no longer applies: Tiny little coffee shop. 5 small tables. Located on the right side of the Century 21 real estate sales building. Northwest corner of Oakmont Drive at White Oak drive. Clean room. Some local artwork on the walls lend ambiance. Bulletin board postings keep you informed about the happenings in Oakmont(Yawn!) All the employees are young, super friendly, smart & helpful. Daily Lunch specials seem geared towards«ladies who do lunch» items. Like Quiches, tuna sandwiches, freshly made salads. Usually a dozen or so high quality pastries are in the glass display case. Early bird gets the worm there. Quality is always high, prices are low. Of course the coffee selections are plentiful. Quality surpasses Starbucks & Peets.
