The apple fritters are out of this world! My mom requests me to bring one down when I visit her in LA. They are THATGOOD. The owner is a gem. :)

Went here today with my best friend for an afternoon delight and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these donuts. Frank was also the cutest. Will be back for more Apple Fritters soon!

My favorite donuts Anywhere! Lovely & fluffy with real quality ingredients. Fresh oil, light not greasy. Made with love, perfection that will spoil you for others. I love their custard-filled maple donut. Yes, real custard! My husband adores the apple fritter, grands love the chocolate frosted buttermilks. Stepping into The Donut Café triggers memories of sweet smelling delights where Every pastry is great!

I love this place! I think they make the only authentic old fashioned donuts I have tasted in years. So tasty! So perfect! Obviously not from a packaged mix. I drive a bit of a distance to get them when I feel the need for a special treat. I picked up a dozen and took them with me to a friends a few weeks ago, and they have not stopped talking about them since. The owners are an adorable couple that take pride in their daily duties. The elder gentleman is very friendly, plus proud and happy with his donuts and café. I swears he is ancient, yet full of spunk and delightful to talk with. He loves talking about his own donut history, as he has been at it his entire lifetime. The lady is a bit shy, which is endearing. She is very polite, sweet, and efficient, keeping herself busy as people continually come through. If the line is long, it moves darn fast, mostly due to her bustling. It is a small Café with a few tables, and donut counter. It is old, but clean. I have never sat down for a meal, although I see people eating what looks yummy whenever I am there. I hear the coffee is good… also not my thing. I have never had an issue finding a parking spot, yet they stay fairly busy.

This place isn’t for everyone. Seriously old school in the best ways possible. Owner has been making donuts for 70+ years(ask him about this!), has immense pride in the quality of his products, and keeps it simple and friendly. The best donut shop I have ever been to.

The Donut Café makes great donuts and more. They offer old favorites as well as creations, like the Blueberry Fritter. Yummy. The owners Frank and Champa make fresh pastries everyday using fresh ingredients you can taste. I was very suprised to find out The Donut Café was not listed by Unilocal

Had the blueberry fritter for the first time this morning, it was wonderful! We definitely will be going back for more. There is quite a variety of things to choose from, we will be trying some of the other things too, in the future!

Went there for a quick breakfast this morning. Charming little place, I ordered the bacon egg and cheese on a croissant, it was good, I wasnt asked or giving salt pepper or ketchup… But it was still good, plenty of bacon unlike other places I’ve been too. Did the mug of coffee since I was eating in and you get a free refill with the mug. Also took ½ dozen donuts to go, very fresh and great variety. Would go again if I lived in the area.

The place seems like a little hole in the wall. Would have never come here if it weren’t for the reviews. And they did not disappoint! Nice friendly service. But best of all fresh and delicious donuts and muffins and pastries! Had the bear claw. Wow you can really taste the almond extract. And it was soooo fresh. My daughters had muffins that were equally fresh and yummy. Can’t wait to come back for croissants and apple fritters. They looked really good as well.

I love this place. I’ve gone in before and had great experiences, and this morning we had yet another one. We took a walk while waiting to get our oil changed down the street, and decided to «look» at the donut selection of the morning. When we walked in, the sweet, sweet owner greeted us, grabbed his tongs, and asked what we’d like. We told him we were just looking, but then he offered us a donut hole to try… Needless to say, it worked. We ordered a croissant and a blueberry fritter. He asked us to wait for a second so he could show us something. When he finished with the customer behind us, he pulled out an apple fritter and gave us the history of the donut. He explained that his donuts don’t have shortening in them, and therefore are light and fluffy, rather than greasy. There are big chunks of apple in the fritter(and blueberries in the blueberry fritter!), and they are light, fluffy, and just delicious! The croissant was great too! We are looking forward to go back ½ because of the awesome donuts, ½ because of the wonderful owner!

Old man working at 5:30 am was so sweet and kind. The doughnut holes are the best I’ve ever had. Definitely going back.

These were very good. I liked the bear claws and glazed cinnamon twists. The Boston cremes were good too. I miss the crème-filled long johns I grew up with in the Midwest though.

Out of all the donut places I’ve visited in Santa Rosa, this place has by far the best tasting donut. Their donut holes/glazed donuts have more of a vanilla essence, where as other places do not have any essence. In a way, it reminded me of Krispy Kreme donut, but in no way are they the same. Although it was delicious, there was a film of oil that was stuck on the roof of my mouth. This was unsettling, so definitely drink coffee or tea so the oil is washed away. I came to this Donut shop around 6AM, and they had a variety of different donuts and pastries. You will not be disappointed by their selection. I ordered one French cruller and a dozen donut holes and this came up to be $ 2.20 – which is fairly average. The other bad thing about Donut Café, besides the oil issue, is that they only accept cash! Besides these two issues, everything else is fine.

Did you know that the Donut Café donates donuts and other pastries to the Veterans at Vet Connect at the Veterans Building every Tuesday. The generosity of providing these delicious donuts are really appreciated by the men and women who served our country. Not only are these the best donuts in town but the thoughtfulness of this business stands out. Try their donuts and pastries and give them a Thank You. You will be glad that you did — delicious!

Best Donuts in town! The twist is my favorite. It’s a drive across town plus remembering to bring cash… but it’s worth it!

One of the best cinnamon twists of my life! They only get four stars because they only take cash and the service isn’t that friendly, but ohhhh the cinnamon twists make my mouth water soooo much! I would go there just for those pretty much any time any day. They are awesome!

OG donut shop with the standard selection. One surprise in that they sprinkle cinnamon into the usual twist. Otherwise pretty good on the whole though they lean hard to the heavy side, which sadly ruins the crullers — it’s like if Krispy Kreme made a cruller. Too much man. Can’t complain about the prices though, well south of a buck for everything, coffee is the usual slop but also dirt cheap. Lots of dudes who drive restored classic cars seem to frequent this place, half the time when I come by there’s something interesting to look at in the parking lot right out front. EDIT: Apparently Krispy Kreme does make a cruller. THEHORROR.

There are good solid donuts to be found here. Nothing exotic, Nothing amazing. Just solid. I had a glazed donut and an apple fritter. Both were better than average. Personally I prefer my glazed donuts to be lighter and airi-er but no real complaints. It was great that they were open at 6am on a sunday so that I could grab something for when I was waiting for my flight at SFO. Plus, when I was there a cop was there ordering a full dozen donuts. Probably for his buddies back at the station. That is at least an indication of quality. Friendly guy behind the counter too. The coffee, as one would suspect, sucked. But I only needed the coffee for the caffeine as I had a good two hour drive back to SFO.

Nothing more than a mere neighborhood doughnut and coffee shop. I would suggest getting your fill in the morning as the donuts are made fresh. Having them in the afternoon they were just okay. Their shelf life is about a day, after that they were useless. Taste was quite average even with some of their specialties. The other day I got a few donuts including a red velvet and some glazed holes and the total came up to a little less than three and a half dollars. Most donut shops would charge well over a dollar and some change for a specialty like red velvet. In comparison to other local donut shops this is inexpensive. Nice place. Clean and quiet being the area it’s located in. Cash only I believe. Tan’s and Donut hut have ruined me for other Santa Rosa donut shops. Tan’s has the lightest donut hole around.

Great old school doughnut shop. And I mean this place looks, smells, and the product tastes like a 1960’s Dunkin’ Donuts storefront on the Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown Long Island.(Childhood memories were re-kindled). This is thoroughly authentic Americana! Dozens of donut shapes and flavors for your perusal. Prices are low and the flavors are spot on. You’ll never buy a skanky Safeway supermarket donut again! I heart this place, Oooo bad pun, the donuts are bad for your heart and arteries. But they sure do taste good.
