All I can say is Gross. If you’re visiting Santa Fe and need to do laundry don’t come here. I needed to do two quick loads so I stopped here. Washed 2 loads, I pull one out and all my stuff was covered in either Mud or Feces. So gross, so here I sit in this awful dirty laundromat waiting for my stuff to wash again, I asked the lady about a refund and she wouldn’t do it. So gross, go elsewhere, seriously!!!

I love the people who work here. But! Watch your clothes with an eagle eye… I’ve been ripped off here before.

First reviewer’s complaint about price is just plain dumb. Bulk laundry typically costs $ 1.25-$ 2 a pound. I don’t have any issues with the price as they charge $ 1.65 and I’ve paid as much as $ 2/lb. That is poor planning and research on that reviewers part. Yes you can get laundry much cheaper by sitting around and waiting for it. That’s where the time value of money comes in. I make much more money than some folks and the convenience of dropping off the laundry is a huge bonus for me so I can spend time doing other things with my family or work rather than spending all day every Sunday doing laundry. That review did not sway me from trying this service because I have placed a different value to my time than her. Where my trouble with this facility comes in is two fold: — They do not have a proper system in place to mark the laundry you drop. — They do not document that you have paid for the laundry anywher ein their books, so if you did not get your entire order and some was left behind, they will assume you still owe for the entire order. My first experience with St Michaels was a week ago when I dropped off $ 67 worth of laundry and had my wife pick it up the next day. Everything appeared to be fine. I was happy, the clothes were clean and I was prepared to make this my new regular dropoff. The second time I dropped off laundry(this week) I dropped off about $ 46 worth of clothing on Tuesday and Wednesday went to pick it up. This is where the trouble started. The morning attendants could not find all of my laundry. And they found a couple of shirts from the previous week’s load(they use a numbering system and a notebook to document the various loads) that were marked«collect» on them because I typically drop off and pay when I return to get them. So they apparently didn’t give my wife all of our first load and even though there was only 4 – 5 shirts left from the first load(maybe 1 – 2 lbs of laundry), the attendant assumed that I still owed the full $ 67. Since there was no receipt marked paid(they take the receipts when you return) or any other mechanism to prove payment the assumption was that I still owed for both orders. I argued the logical fact that I had all but 5 shirts, why would they have given me all of my clothes and not required payment back then? I was eventually able to talk reason to the attendant and get my shirts without having to pay twice. He had to call someone that was on duty when my wife showed up(btw they only take cash or check, so she had to go to the ATM) but that person did not know up from down and offered no help. The second issue being the missing clothes from Monday’s drop off was not resolved until I left and was headed down the street. I got a call that the missing articles were found and I turned around to head back. I am not certain if that was all of the clothes or not. I am pretty certain that I lost some clothes and DEFINITELY certain that I will never go back.

I don’t know what the last person’s problem was with this place, but I had absolutely no problems here. I guess it might be different if you are having them do your laundry for you, but in terms of a laundromat, St Michaels is fine. The place is clean, there are tons of washers and driers(so there was no wait), it wasn’t expensive($ 3 for a normal-sized wash, 50 cents to dry it), and there is free wifi that you can use while you wait. There are also vending machines, some arcade games, and a TV to keep you occupied. It only took me 45 minutes to get a load of laundry washed and dried. The location is also convenient.

Poor service. Bad attitude. High prices. The mother of friends with whom we were staying took our laundry without permission to be washed, dried and folded at St Michaels. The total cost was $ 73.48 for what they said was 43.9lbs of laundry, payable upon pick-up. We called to stop the service, but Joan Martinez said it was already done. We went there to explain the mishap and negotiate a fairer price, but were met with hostility when Joan phoned the owner, Betty. We asked for Joan to reweigh the clothes, which she did but, as the new weight included their heavy plastic wrapping, the weight came out to even more than it did at drop-off. $ 75.48 for four loads of laundry, something that would cost about $ 16 at the laundromat… really? Not only did they include the bottle of concentrated laundry detergent in the initial weighing, but they also used most of the bottle to wash our clothes. Cheap.
