My family was thinking to eat at Kobe because they used to eat here like 20 years ago. So we were like okay, let’s give it a shot and see if they still have the same great taste like 20 years ago. When we first walked into the restaurant, we waited like 3 – 4 minutes before a waitress show up to seat us. You may think, 3 – 4 minutes that is not too bad right? Wrong, there were barely any customer that day and only 1 waitress was working. That’s why we waited for 3 – 4 minutes, otherwise we may be seated right away. We ordered a eel nigiri and california roll for our appetizer. The nigiri came as standard 2 pieces, but the california roll had only 3 pieces instead of 6, which is a led down. Then we waited like 30 minutes before our entrees come to our table. We ordered Chicken & Salmon terriyaki and a chicken katsu. Our food were not hot at all. It must be sitting at the counter for quite a while before the waitress actually have time to bring it to our table. My katsu was warm and tasteless. My family’s terriyaki were also warm and soaked in the bath of terriyaki sauce. Overall, the meal was not good at all. Who want to pay $ 50 dollars to eat something that suppose to be hot but weren’t at all? No services either beside bring the entrée and tea. They also charge $ 1.50 for tea. Who charges for water now a day? They do! I am sure not to come back to this place anymore and would not recommend anyone to eat here.

Pros: Beautiful interior, quick seating, great pricing on the menu Cons: Not the best service(not terrible, but nothing excellent), sushi is good, but could be a bit better. Also, they did not even offer tea or miso soup :( Bottom line: Would return, but not immediately —

Really good food and we got great quick service too! Quiet at lunch time. The tea was great and their bento box combo was really good — salmon teriyaki was fresh and tasty. Dont understand the bad reviews

They charge for hot tea! Reasonably priced for suburban Sushi place. The food quality is OK, but seldom great. The place atmosphere is relaxing, with sushi boats on one side and an artificial stream with Koi and even a small bridge over the stream. The place is good for families with kid as the tables are far from each other. The service is on a slow side, and during busy times it is hard to get their attention.

Came in for lunch on a Tuesday night and we were seated right away at the sushi bar. Let me just say that this is my favorite japanese restaurant ever; you just pick what ever plates you want to eat and there are different prices for each plate(price ranges from 1.75 to $ 6.50) I ate mainly from the sushi bar while my bb ordered off the menu, each of us ate about $ 15 worth of food each. The hubs ordered the pork ramen and a side of chicken teriyaki; the pork was dry and the egg wasn’t soft boiled. The chicken teriyaki was good. What I like about this place is that you can get a variety of different dishes unlike any other restaurant where you spend the same amount of money for one entrée. Food gets 5 stars. The reason why I gave this restaurant 3 stars was for the service. Even though we decided to sit at the sushi bar, the ladies serving took forever to acknowledge us after we got our drinks, even when we had menus and were clearly about to order. My advice is to sit at the sushi bar, that way you can eat as soon as you’re seated and you don’t have to deal with snubby servers.

Only 2 tables and 5 people at the sushi bar on Saturday night. No menu was offered. Enough wasabi and ginger for one piece of sushi. Lots of Shirachi on/in everything. But, the kicker was the service, or lack of service. Tea took 10 minutes and getting our check took 20! I expect that this place will be gone soon.

Ok place. Surroundings a bit worn. Bento box safe choice. Tempura good. Service adequate.

Given the large amount of better options out there, I’d say skip eating here. The cooked dishes were decent, and the waitresses were polite. However, none of that makes up for the painfully slow and indifferent service, and the crappy quality of their fish.

Food was .eh’. Nothing special. I give them points for the nice indoor fish pond with beautiful koi.

I came here before in the evenings and the service was a lil better and the sushi boats were full of variety. The other day I came by for lunch and ended up coming out with a $ 25 tab. The sushi on the boats were very limited. I was able to grab to California rolls the whole time. The rest of the sushi looked like it was there for awhile and were the $ 6.50 trays. I was hungry and they took long with my bento box. Probably wanted me to eat from the boats first while I waited.Anyhow. not sure if I will be back.

0 stars. Don’t let the ambience and décor distract you, I Spotted flies on the sushi! Simply disgusted. Was reading other reviews and would not be surprised if I saw a roach too. The sushi boat spins for hours and if not eaten is recycled back onto the boat. The tuna tasted artificial and was fishy. The 4.50 $ chicken did not taste like chicken but some rubber drowned in teriyaki sauce. I tried to order a fresh sushi roll but saw them pick it from the boat in front of me and hand it to me! Talk about poor customer service. Would not be coming back.

Other reviewers didn’t lie! I decided to try this restaurant for myself. I can’t believe that a restaurant with such a recently remodeled exterior and attractive interior can turn out such lousy food. I ordered the Bento Box dinner combo for $ 12. Price-wise, that seems to be a pretty average price for area restaurants. The combo I ordered was Chicken Teriyaki, Gyoza, and combination Tempura. Unlike other restaurants, the dinner came with only two Gyoza and the Tempura consisted of one shrimp and four pieces of various vegetables. The dinner was served with such speed that I can’t believe it was cooked fresh. I believe the Gyoza and Tempura were pre-cooked and then«freshened» by immersing in a deep fryer. The Gyoza were dark brown and crisp, indicative of deep frying. And the Tempura was also dark brown and had absorbed much grease – also indicative of being«re-fried.» The Chicken Teriyaki was totally tasteless. For half the meal, I thought I was eating(bad) Beef Teriyaki; then I realized it was just tasteless Chicken. Next time I’ll believe what the majority of other reviewers have to say about a restaurant.

The food is not horrible but it is not good either. The tonkotsu ramen with shrimp tempura was edible but the broth tasted like top ramen broth cooked with a stalk of celery. Definitely a Chinese style ramen. The broth was not flavorful and the skinny noodles tasted bland too. The half egg was hard boiled and not flavored either. Worst part was they put so much celery that’s all I could taste. The bento box with the mixed tempura and fish was barely average tasting. The restaurant was empty on a Friday night which was a warning to me to stay away from the sushi revolving around on the sushi boat, untouched for God knows how long. I won’t be back. Barely 2 stars.

Now I know what Unilocalers mean when they want to give a business zero stars. This restaurant has gotta be the best at being the worst Japanese restaurant in Northern California! Don’t let the beautiful décor deceive you. I decided to give this place a try in spite of the poor reviews, keeping in mind that everyone’s experience is unique. Well, my experience was unique but not in a good way. Rolls: Average price($ 8+) but the portions are ½ the size of other restaurants. I ordered their version of a Lion King roll and it came with FOUR tiny rolls. For $ 8, they served it to me refrigerator COLD. Scallop Hand Roll: They deep fried the scallops when such rolls are always served raw. White Tuna Nigiri: It’s supposed to be raw but it was came cold with sear marks. It looked like seared nigiri but tasted like canned tuna. Gyoza: On a positive note, the gyoza was fresh and tasty. One star for this. Chicken Katsu Bento Box: very standard flavor but extremely small portions. If you’re looking for fresh sushi for a reasonable price, stay away from this deceitful place. They know nothing about sushi and are an insult to Japanese cuisine. My meal was so bad that I cancelled my entire order and filled up on a footlong sandwich at Subway.

I really liked this place. Service was quick and friendly, the food was delicious and my daughter loved the koi pond. The rolls were on the smaller side, but that’s how I prefer them. They tasted great, and the teriyaki bento box was right on as well. They were great with my 4 year old. Brought a cup with a lid, and even though we didn’t order from it, they have a kids section on their menu. Everyone who helped us was very friendly(we went on Valentine’s Day and they gave me a cute box of cookies and wiser me a happy Valentine’s Day). Right price, great service, tasty food. We’ll be back.

So absolutely gross. These were the toilets at the beginning of dinner service. I was heaving after eating there and seeing these women’s restrooms. Hair all over the floor. I am not even close to Exaggerating. The diner floor had not been mopped in days. If you know anything about a restaurant then you know the kitchen is as dirty but probably worse than The bathrooms. So disgusting.

Our family’s favorite sushi restaurant, 15 years running! We love this place and am so happy to see the mall it’s in reborn, finally. Kobe has consistently sold high quality sushi at reasonable prices. I love the boats and getting lots of small plates rather than having to order large roll sizes and not being hungry enough to get a variety. It’s the perfect place to get your kids to try new rolls without investing a lot of $$$. Most plates are $ 2.99, fancy ones top out at $ 6.99 — great deals!!!
