The prices went up and for alright sushi, it’s not worth it. To me, this place is a quick fix, not breaking your bank kind of sushi restaurant. The staff is still friendly, don’t get me wrong but the sushi tastes like Safeway sushi. The sushi used to be whatever to me but when I came back today, I ordered the pink dragon roll. The rice tasted not fresh almost like left overs and every time I picked up the sushi, it fell apart. The sushi roll was not wrapped tight enough so it was a complete mess. Some were not cut all the way through so it pulled the other pieces with it. I’d rather take my money somewhere else. I guess if you’re craving sushi late night then this place is open super late.

Owner was super nice and was very attentive. Food was all right, the Caterpillar roll was very good. The bento was fine, all made of fresh ingredients. It is a small restaurant with simple decoration. The owner’s welcoming and friendly demeanor made quite a difference in this place.

Ordered takeout. It’s okay sushi. There aren’t many options at 9:45pm. Everything was fine, until I found a hair in my food. Will not be returning to this place.

A nice, clean, quiet mom & pop sushi place on El Camino that offers the usual rolls and bentos, made with attention to detail and care. They need to fix their stove though, a lot of the sushi was uncooked.

I wonder how this place has three stars on Unilocal. It’s clean, food is delicious, prices are very reasonable, service is great. All boxes ticked. Loved the miso soup, California roll and seaweed salad. Definitely coming back soon.

It’s Sunday, early evening. I have no food in the house, and have spent the entire day cleaning, doing laundry, rescuing cat toys from underneath furniture, and paying bills. Did I shower this morning? I can’t remember. Who’s been there? Exactly. Getting dolled up(hell, even presentable) to go pick up dinner is not on the hot 100 list, so I looked for take out that was NOT pizza. I found(gasp!) a sushi place? Yeah me! I live literally 8 blocks from this place, so when I ordered at 5:30pm, I was confident it wouldn’t take them the hour they said it would take. I was right; it didn’t take them an hour… it took them 75min to drive around the corner and drop off my order. Ya, I was irritated, but I was also hungry. The«No Name» roll had tempura around it, and it was stone cold when I took a bite. Ick. Big disappointment. But, the rest of the rolls seemed fresh. It’s not anything to write home about, and I doubt I’ll order take out again since waiting over an hour for food when I’m hungry stinks, but I had to give them a try. The prices are reasonable, with some veggie rolls under $ 5, so if you’re on a budget, this place works. But do yourself a favor and order the food to be picked up. Next time? I’m tossing my hair in a bun and a mint in my mouth, and picking up food at Thaibodia – their food is awesome and worth any stares I’ll get looking like hell.

I saw that this sushi bar was the only one with $ on the price. So I decided to drop in and give it a try with no expectations. So I was seated and given the menu and everything was fairly cheap! I ordered the Unagi Roll which came in 6 pieces with BBQ Eel, avocado, and masago($ 7.95). To my surprise only about 3 – 4 minutes later, my sushi was ready! Their presentation was great because they look like they do in the picture. For the taste they were pretty decent, nothing extraordinary and nothing tasteless. It’s actually a good eat considering the price on sushi nowadays. This place was fast, cheap, and food was good so I’ll definitely be coming back here one day!

It isn’t actually that bad. Customer service much better here than the Berkeley location by a lot. The sushi was moderate quality. I ordered the crazy monkey while brothers ordered California rolls. The price is great

Came in on a quiet Sunday night. Ordered 3 rolls. Price came out alright. Portions were decent. Couldn’t ask for more for a basic dinner. Ambiance is simple. It’s a local shop. Takes card!

Hana Sushi – my entire household’s go-to sushi restaurant. The prices are great, the rolls are huge, and the flavor is easily superior to other high-end places that cost twice as much. And their ramen is delicious too! And if you have an opportunity to treat yourself, their lunches are one of the best deals I’ve found in Santa Clara.

Decent place to get some Japanese food. The big plus here is their agedashi tofu, which comes with 12 pieces, for only $ 4.50! Their sushi is okay, we got the two different platters they had on their menu. I felt that the deep fried ones were not as good as the other platter, which had more raw fish. Overall, the prices for the platters were pretty reasonable, as we split them between a group of people. The service was pretty good, but there were also very few other customers in the restaurant with us. Not the best place, but a place I would not mind going back to.

Maybe I’m partial to this place because I’ve been coming here for years but it isn’t as bad as some say. Yes, it’s not Mizu or anything high end albeit they don’t try to be. They are catering to people that want a good deal on sushi or to fill that sushi void without breaking the bank. Having said that, I haven’t been here in maybe a year and I just had dinner at Hana. It looked like they made a few renovations(new light fixtures and new trim molding?) and some new additions to the menu. I didn’t try any of the new menu items since I was craving some old classics like the Jumbo Combo roll and their Oishi roll. Maybe I went on a good night but I honestly thought it tasted better than the last time I was here. I’m in no way affiliated to Hana nor am I oblivious to high quality sushi(I’m that person that pays for good toro or urchin, etc. without hesitation) but I love this place. People have to understand this place gets the job done for what its niche is. Plus the old Korean lady is so nice and cute! I guess they have a storefront black cat too – so cute!

This is the place to go when no where else is available; they’re open all day until late. Their food is pretty decent, I wouldn’t say the salmon is very fresh, they don’t seem to give you a very generous slice of fish on their nigiri. Best things on the menu are their Oishi roll and lunch specials. Come only if you’re a maki/bento person, or if you’re just desperate for some sushi. Otherwise, try cherry sushi or sushi o sushi in the same plaza.

The service was great and the sushi was better. I recommend the poki roll, it was a delightful combination of flavors. The crunchiness of the seaweed salad garnish complimented the texture of the spicy tuna. I also recommend hot tea to cleanse your palette between each bite. Overall experience was good, will come again!

I love this place. I usually order to-go but I actually sat down one time and loved everything! The service was good and fast. The food was delicious! Two words: Oishi Roll. If you love saucey rolls, you will absolutely love this one. I also ordered the Snow Lion King Roll which is basically a Lion King Roll with mozzarella cheese on top. Yum! I usually have good experiences here, I’m sorry for all the others who didn’t have as great.

If I could give this place 0 stars for the taste and quality of the food, I would. It was the only thing open late, so we took a chance since Cha Cha(our first choice) was closed. Six of us ate, and none of us will be coming back. The Lion King Roll was the worst one I have ever had so far in my life. That’s usually my go — to roll. But the salmon tasted like detergent because the store looks like a deli and laundromat. All rolls look and taste the same.nasty. It was empty when we got there. So there is a reason for that. Go somewhere else to eat. Better off eating grocery store sushi! All of today, my mom threw up and had diarrhea and so did my sister. This place should not make sushi.

If you’re craving sushi and don’t feel like spending a lot, this is the place to go. Keep in mind, I’m not picky ATALL with sushi. I love all sushi. I don’t discriminate sushi. They have many rolls that are under 6 dollars. When I say many, I mean like 25 rolls. I ordered 4 rolls that totaled $ 18 and it filled me up. 4 California pieces, 8 spicy tuna pieces, 6 salmon roll pieces, and 6 tempura roll pieces. These rolls were very good for the price. They also offer a 50 piece California roll party tray for $ 27! But you have to call one day in advance. The bento box on the other hand is okay. I won’t go into depth about it. I came here in a Monday night and there were literally no customers. The wait for my food wasn’t long. I will come back if I don’t feel like spending a lot on sushi. Recommend everyone try this place out at least once

no frills, korean-run, japanese restaurant, nestled in the heart of santa clara along with many other asian restaurants. i found this place on Unilocal and it was also recommended by one of my gold elite Unilocal friends as a very affordable place to get good sushi. i had lunch with a friend and between the 2 of us, we ordered: 1. california roll($ 1.89) — their signature roll with imitation crab meat and avocado, wrapped inside rice and seaweed, cut into 4 pieces. pretty standard taste, but a GREATDEAL for under 2 bucks! 2. kappa maki roll($ 2.99) — standard sliced cucumber wrapped inside rice and seaweed, cut into 6 small pieces. 3. fried veggie roll($ 2.99) — tempura veggies wrapped inside rice and seaweed, cut into 6 thin pieces. did not try since i don’t like tempura with sushi. 4. unnamed roll($ 8.99) — forgot the name of this roll, but it was essentially bbq eel with cucumber, wrapped in rice and seaweed, topped with avocado and drizzled with unagi sauce. i think they actually gave us 9 pieces, or perhaps just cut the entire roll into smaller, bite-size pieces, but this roll was very good and had a good amount of eel in the roll. i noticed that another party who arrived after us had their food served within a matter of minutes, while we waited upwards of 30 minutes for our 4 rolls to be made and served. maybe there was only 1 person working at the time since we only saw 1 lady seat customers, take orders, serve food, and ring up the bill. but considering there were only 2 parties dining at this time, i’d have expected service to be a bit faster. nonetheless, for less than $ 20, we got 4 rolls, with a total of 23 pieces of sushi… that’s purrty darn good for silicon valley! definitely a good spot to have good sushi for a very, very reasonable price.
