I came here because I looked at their menu and I saw uni on the list. Uni is sea urchin and I really wanted to try it. So I walked in and they seated me right away without wait. I ordered Uni which is priced at market price($ 12) and they give you 2 pieces, and also a California roll($ 5). While you wait they give you a bowl of miso soup free of charge and it was quite good. 5 minutes later, my food is ready and already I can see the Uni did not look like it did in the picture. It looked more yellow in the picture but the one I got was orange colored. Nonetheless I still enjoyed it! It has a creamy texture which was surprising because I expected it to be a bit chewy. It just melted in my mouth almost and it tasted like crab or seafood. The California roll was generously big for the cost of it. It was a cool experience trying Uni for the first time and I would definitely be back here!

I was never a big sushi person before cherry sushi. Mainly because I don’t really care for fish. My gf however loves sushi but is very picky about the unagi and spicy mayo sauce. So after this place got her stamp of approval I found some not too fishy options that we both enjoy. My personal favorite is the red rock roll. The California rolls are pretty good, we like the spicy version. The Bento boxes are good too when you want some variety. Overall this is our go to sushi place. We’ve had better but this place is convenient and the staff is friendly and service is usually pretty quick.

I actually loved this place, until my last two visits. Food: About average, nothing mind blowing neither is it bad. Ambiance: Kinda good, looks more like a bar from outside though: P Wait stuff: Interestingly the wait stuff is pleasant, they are prompt, and friendly however the OWNER is down right RUDE(specially to guys)!! Given my last two run with the owner, which completely ruined my evenings, I will avoid going to this place in future. 1st Visit: I was there with two of my female friends. He kept coming back to our table and asking how the food was, etc. etc. ONLY to the girls! He conveniently ignored me through out the evening. It feels bad when someone walks to your table and then ignores you :( 2nd Visit: This is the recent incident, I was there with my wife. It was her first visit to a Japanese restaurant and she doesn’t know how to use chopsticks. So I asked for a spoon and a fork. The owner was near by, he complied and got back with a spoon. I politely asked for a fork too, and he rudely replied back how many do you need, isn’t a spoon enough. I was kinda taken aback, insulting customers due to their lack of expertise with chop sticks! I am done with this place.

Four stars for the service, two stars for the food unfortunately. I really wanted to like this place, but the Alaska rolls I ordered just weren’t that great. For one, there was way too much wasabi in it to the point where I ended up scraping most of it out. Also the rice was kind of wet and didn’t stick to the seaweed all that well; it kept falling apart when I would pick it up with my chopsticks. I have no complaints about the service at all. To be honest the service here is better than most sushi restaurants that I’ve been to. Our waiter made sure everything was to our liking, refilled our waters whenever we needed them, and he was quick as could be. I’ll have to give Cherry Sushi another go in the future I guess, maybe try some some California rolls or something to see if it deserves a better rating.

Nicely furnished and friendly Sushi chefs. My meal: maguro that is fresh, rice is on point. Salad a bit over dressed but tasty. No substitutions. Not even at additional price. A drawback. Meal is fairly priced. Did not try the toro which was advertised. 4 stars for freshness.

Cherry sushi is now my go to sushi place when I want reasonably priced, good sushi rolls with great service and convenience! They’re service is consistently good and the food is just what I need to curb my sushi craving without breaking the bank. If I want a fancy sushi date night, I can go to Omee J on Stevens Creek but, sometimes you don’t need the extra hassle and Cherry Sushi is that sort of comfortably, casual, cheaper sushi place :) In additon to the complimentary miso soup, we always get a few rolls and hamachi/salmon kama. If you haven’t tried kama before, you really should! It is the collar/cheek of the fish and it is grilled so that the skin is crispy. This is also the juiciest part of the fish. I have tried 5+ rolls from their menu and have always been happy with my order.

Big thank you to the *Groupon deal I purchased for this location because if it wasn’t for that I probably wouldn’t have ever known about this sushi spot! Let me start off by saying, I love sushi and I’m always looking for some sushi spots that create delicious sushi rolls and Cherry Sushi is one of them! I have a *Groupon deal that I needed to use before it expired and it was buy the voucher for $ 15 and get $ 25 worth of food. My sister and I came for lunch right as they opened so the restaurant was empty. Tons of seating in the front and back of the restaurant! The young lady that took our order was nice and pleasant. My sister and I ordered: ~Miso Soup and Salad, Beef teriyaki with Pasta, vegetables & Rice-Was my main dish and it was SO good! The teriyaki was well flavored, veggies were seasoned just right! OMGGG! YESS!($ 13.50) ~Gyoza-($ 6.00) ~Vegetable Tempura-($ 6.00) ~Mexican Roll-($Very fresh and made to perfection. I definitely recommend this roll when you come!($ 11.00) The Mexican Roll has: spicy crab, cucumber topped with: avocado, shrimp, spicy mayo Pricing here was reasonable! For all the food we ordered I only came out my pockets spending $ 10. NOTBAD! I can’t believe it has taken me a Groupon offer to finally come to this place and check it out. I definitely will be back to try more sushi on their menu! *Always look out for deals on Groupon it saves you a couple dollars!

Walked into Cherry Sushi at 6pm and was asked to be seated at a table at the window for a party of 1. There were two tables open at the windows at both ends and 5 tables in the whole restaurant that had customers in them. When I asked the waiter to be seated there I was told by him that those tables are reserved. Then the story changed the tables are now reserved for larger parties, we are going to connect the tables. Understandable. But how long is a party of 1 going to sit in the restaurant 3 hours, no, I am going to eat and get out as soon as possible. Needless to say I was in my work uniform and I’m also in the food industry. And where is that large party? The waiter refused to seat me at the window so I left without eating or even sitting down. Food — not rated — wasn’t given a chance to eat Service — zero stars — not in English when I walked in Refused to seat me where I wanted during their dead hours For these reasons I will not be back. There’s hundreds of sushi joints in the area your better off going somewhere else.

Great Service | Food is Okay $$ My experience here was so-so, and I feel bad for writing this because their service was of 4 to 5 stars. You never have to ask for your refill of water and they constantly make sure you’re enjoying yourself. The owner was there and walked around several times greeting people and taking care of them, too. The food presentation was nice. We ordered the lion king roll, sashimi, the rainbow roll, and some tempura appetizers. +They gave my friend and I complimentary miso soup Their miso soup IS really good though! It was served at the perfect temperature, not cold and not scalding hot that you’d have to wait 5 – 10 minutes before you take your first sip. The soup didn’t taste like it was instant. Good stuff. The sushi was okay, at least my lion king roll was. It wasn’t super tasty, but it also wasn’t the best that I’ve ever had. I think if your sushi doesn’t require you dousing it in soy sauce, it’s delicious. That’s just my rule, haha. Large parking lot, but be aware of what valuables you leave in your car. I saw a bunch of hobos camping out across the street at the bank’s entrance(this was on the weekend). And, there was one in the parking lot taking refuge from the hot heat.

I’d *like* to say this place sucks. just to keep others from crowding us out. But I just can’t. It started out rough — my S.O. and I tried it the first week they were open(several years ago). We were one of only two couples there at 7:30 on a Friday night(big red flag). Our jaws dropped when we saw the menu. Long story short, the food was great, but we left after shelling out well over $ 100 for the two of us. Fast forward about 6 months. Evidently, they realized they weren’t in Beverly Hills and cut their prices in half(seriously). Have been eating there regularly ever since! Outstanding sushi creations, good selection of premium sakes, good prices, excellent service… this is the *only* place you need to know in the SouthBay when you’re craving sushi!

I work really close to this place so we make group orders here a lot. It’s really good, and the food is always ready fast despite them always being packed. A little more expensive than other sushi places in the area.

I bought a groupon deal for this place and was hoping for some awesome rolls. I ordered a miso soup, house salad, and dragon roll. The soup and salad were fine but the dragon roll was bland and dry. It looked great but had no flavor in it. The eel didn’t have enough sauce on it and the shrimp tempura was overly crispy and had too much batter. One of my pieces had no shrimp it in too and just had crunchy batter. It was not a good roll. I wont be coming back again! :(

The bartender at the hotel recommended this restaurant for sushi. I found that this place serves some great sushi rolls. I had the Unagi roll. It was great and fresh. Then I ordered the Godzilla Roll. I really enjoy the food and the sushi bar. The service was good! I highly recommend it. #SenorFood

This place is terribly terribly white washed. The rolls all have the same characteristics, too much rice, too much creamy-mayo sauce and not fresh. The rolls seem like they were made in the morning, just sitting there waiting for some sucker to order them. Whatever filling that were in the rolls(fried soft shell crab in mine for example) just went soggy. So all you’re getting are soft, pasty and moist tempura batter. Without the crispy fried crunch, the soft shell crab just aren’t the same. Then comes the rolls being drenched heavily in some mayo based sauce. All I could taste from that sauce was mayo and nothing else. Need I go into detail what you’ll get if you ordered a California roll? Hint: mayo mixed with a little bit of crab and then more mayo. Their sashimi was not impressive either. Not fresh but not old. Just previously frozen and thawed, frozen then thawed too many times. The fish falls apart even before I finish picking it up. The cucumber salad and seaweed salad were good but too little. I don’t see the appeal of charging someone so much for just two bites of food. The cucumber salad could use a little more salt or chili. Certainly would not return.

Disappointing! We came here for dinner on a weekday. I don’t remember what roll I ordered, but it had salmon and the rolls were baked… So they were served hot from the oven. I’ve never had warm sushi rolls and didn’t like it at all. My husband ordered a Udon and it was okay at best. The broth flavor wasn’t very appetizing. Never coming back.

Came here twice within a 72 hour timespan. That’s when you know there’s something exceptional about this place! ;D I’ve been a loyal Old Town Sushi customer for quite a number of years now & it’s sad to say that I haven’t found a sushi house comparable in terms of serving size, price, freshness, & most importantly, quality of food. The significant & I both follow through with Lent practices which prompted us to search for a local sushi house for Ash Wednesday & last Friday around the Santa Clara area as we were unable to eat meat. Eventually, we stumbled upon Cherry Sushi & noticed that several of our mutual friends were regular customers so we had the intention of having a great experience as well. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were immediately seated, provided with the Menu, & had ordered our beverages– talk about quick service! I instantly thought to myself, «I’m starting to like this place, already!» As we proceeded to order, our waiter was very attentive & answered any questions I had with regard to how their sushi was prepared. Having allergies to crab & lobster of any kind, I wanted to ensure that my orders that included crab were prepared with«imitation crab», rather than«real crab». Our waiter reassured that he’d mention my allergy specifications to the sushi chef so that he’s informed to avoid real crab for all of my orders thereon. My newfound favorite would have to be the Tiger Roll [$ 12.95](please see photo below). Moist, sticky rice rolled with avocado, cream cheese, & fresh tuna topped with salmon, tobiko, & eel sauce, MYOHMY. To top it off, this exquisitely executed roll is oven baked to perfection with Cherry Sushi’s special creamy«house sauce», respectively. I was in total awe after biting into each roll oozing with richness, opulent flavor, which made my taste buds crave for more! Throughout our dinner, our waiter routinely came back to replenish our water & hot jasmine green tea which, I greatly appreciated. Cherry Sushi had instantly made its way up my favorites list, right below Old Town. Looking forward to coming back again soon to try the Sunshine Roll! mMmm!

Not too shabby We’ve lived near this place for over 3 years, and just recently started going off my neighbors recommendation. It’s pretty big, and getting sat so far has never been a problem. We always come when they seem super busy too, but for the most part, since all the servers work together, we generally don’t wait for any requests for long. The staff is well versed in the recipes which is helpful for my super picky fiancé. They generally run Groupon specials(but there is a fine print that it needs to be bought 3 hours prior to use — so no buying it while you’re sitting there!) We haven’t purchased one yet because we wanted to see if we liked it first. When we went to go and buy one, it’s like ridiculous amounts of food(for super cheap) but we’d need to bring a small army with us to eat all that food. The roll selection is abundant and for I haven’t had any sushi that didn’t seem fresh. I’ve also had their nigiri platter during a Southbeach phase and it was very good. Huge pieces. For the most part the rolls are nice and tight, of the dozen times we’ve been, only once have my rolls actually fallen apart of me. We can generally get in and out on a Friday night(6pm) within 45 minutes for the two of us. This is a weekly stop for us! Nom Nom Nom(It gets my 3 Nom approval!)

Came here for lunch today expecting to face the worse service in the world after reading the Unilocal reviews. I got a groupon $ 15 for $ 25 so I have to come here eventually. I was shocked to experience a really good dining experience. Service was nice and fast. Noone was yelling, ignoring me like what some Unilocaler said they experienced lol hooraay lucky me! Food came at reasonable time, price was kinda expensive though but thank god for groupon deals! 2 people we ordered 3 rolls for $ 45 bucks total. Rolls was BIGGGG and yummy. We were both happy with our lunch!

A friend and I headed to Cherry Sushi after wedding dress shopping. We were pretty hungry and we wanted to healthy but good food. The location is nice. There is lots of seating and the staff is friendly. We went on a Thursday night and there was not wait, we were seated immediately. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. My friend and I usually let our eyes get bigger than our stomach, this time we were good. We ordered the a bento box with spicy chicken(amazing) and a Mexican roll. The box was pretty good. Portions are pretty reasonable. The roll was falling apart that was really the only issue. Prices were pretty reasonable.
