how many stars do you give to a place where you go for three days in a row and end up eating almost all the curries and dals on the menu? — 5STARS! ANDMORE! Great Food! good service. They make the food according to the expected spice level! I would recommend everyone to go beyond the sad restaurants on el camino and find this place and try it!

Meh this place was pretty mediocre. I found the raita far too sour and our dishes were minimally spicy and un flavorful. The potatoes in my aloo palak were not cooked through and there were large chunks of herb and spice in my dishes that I felt should have been properly ground with the rest of the paste used for the palak. The ambiance is poor as it is decorated in a rather haphazard way. I will say I do believe this place is more of a sweets shop and I don’t think people typically choose to dine in, rather they order take out or catering. It was very empty.

They have catered my corporate lunches twice and both experiences were flawless(and soo delicious). Always right on time and very professional. Surjit makes the entire process so easy for me… And here I thought customer service was a thing of the past. The prices are very reasonable AND he even let me create my own catering menu, no problem. Each time he has brought complimentary items from the chef for me to try. I swear, these little gestures that seem irrelevant matter so much. Now, on to my Samosa…

It is NOT a restaurant. Though they offer food but it doesn’t look like a restaurant from any angle. They have worst service. They waiter barely talks to you and I ordered a chapati and he got me a naan. When I asked he said they doesn’t have chapati so he got me naan instead. WTF!

See the photos. They said that they prepare daily. This is what I have found when I opened the box.

–No selection of chutneys… only had one option and even that was given in a small portion for two. — Food got cold while waiting for the naans. — Bland flavor in the paneer makhni – I asked for spicy and it was not spicy at all. — The poor waiter could only do so much when the food is plated so boring and tastes so bland. — They spent more time preparing food for delivery then for people at the restaurant. — Very cold as well, the door was left open on a cold day. — The unisex bathroom was disgusting someone did not flush. Yucky Overall, very disappointed at my poor choice of trying this place.

I have used them twice for catered events at work and both time it was very popular. We had the butter chicken, Malai Lam, Channa Masala and it was all excellent. I will order from them again. It is not easy to please 22 people at one time but they did it!!! Thank you see you Soon

I don’t know what happened to this place recently. When I first moved into their neighborhood about 3 years ago, the food was off-the-charts amazing. I experimented with other places, but always came back to this one. Service was fast, the food was delicious, and they always got my order right. The last two times I ordered from here, they were surly and got the order wrong. I am one of those people for whom cilantro tastes like dish soap(I hear it’s a genetic thing?), so I always order every dish without it. I even specify for dishes that probably didn’t have cilantro in them to begin with, just to be extra sure, because even the tiniest bit of it can completely ruin a meal for me. It’s never been an issue before, but the last two times I ordered(for pickup) they put EXTRA on! When I opened the containers it almost looked like the chef had piled it on maliciously. One of the dishes, I’m 90% sure, did not originally have cilantro in it, but the chef apparently got so angry that I had the nerve to make a request that they felt the need to lash out at me by giving me the exact opposite of what I wanted. The entire meal was inedible. It felt like a giant«SCREWYOU» from a restaurant I used to adore. So disappointing. Lesson learned, time to find a new curry place.

I have ordered from this place a few times now — lamb curry, fish curry, shrimp curry, fans etc. The curries and one thing in common — salty, overuse of food coloring and small portions(though that didn’t matter given the taste!) The nans and kulcha have always be under cooked with pieces of them still sticky with raw dough. This past time I ordered their lamb sheekh kabab. It is the worst sheekh kebab I have ever come across in my life. To begin with it was EXTREMELY salty, so much so I could not eat more than one bite. It had too much food coloring characteristic of all of their items. And it barely had any lamb(less than10%) and mostly was some(gram) flour used as a filler. Its consistency was like that of a ‘bajji’. Even though I was starving I could not even eat a single piece of it, i had I had to throw it all away.

Don’t bother going here! I agree with most of the other Unilocalers. This food here is not even close to being called authentic Indian. I had ordered Kadai Paneer and Butter Naans. I have never had such horrible Kadai Paneer in my life! The sauce or gravy was nothing but watered down ketchup and Naans were without any butter and I paid $ 3 each for the under-baked, sticky flattened mass of gluten! About five years ago when the restaurant had first opened, the food was good but it has hit rockbottom now. Save your mood and money!

People, listen up — I have never, I repeat NEVER, had such amazing and delicious Milk Cake mithai. It’s my favorite burfi and my mom gifted us a box of it, and needless to say I finished the entire box absolutely wanting more! The only problem is it has a layer of oil at the bottom, so yes not your healthiest option, but if they could fix that it would be perfect! Nonetheless 5 stars!!!

Worst place ever… Period. If you go to a place on a saturday for dinner and find no customers… just run away as far as possible. We made a mistake and took a chance with this place. If i could give this 0 stars i would have done that. Firstly the ambiance is the worst. They have garbage bags filled with packed food and lined up all over the restaurant around the sitting area. The food we ordered was so pricey and over priced. The food was old by a couple of days at-least and i could tell that it was just reheated.

Worst indian food. chicken biryani tasted so bad. It is just a mix of rice and half-cooked chicken pieces with bell pepper. Too much oil. No spices

Not yummy. I was staying in Santa Clara not too far from this joint and had a hankering for Indian food. I ordered from here because of the ease of ordering from the Unilocal app. If I had actually gone here first, I might not have. Not because it looks bad mind you but because it was empty while the Korean and Japanese restaurants nearby had lines out the door. I ordered the chicken tikka and it was just so very salty. It also had a strange look to it … kinda looked old or like spices had been rubbed on after cooking or something. hard to explain. I ate maybe 1⁄3 of it and only because I was starving. I also thought my salt lassi was a little extra salty but that might have just been the combination of two salty things together. The baigan bartha was pretty good. A bit too sweet for me to really rave about it but decent and a very big portion size. Chapati was a-ok. The guys were waiting with my order when I arrived about 20 minutes of placing my order. They were quite pleasant. The restaurant was empty, but there were lots of sweets taht I would have been tempted by had I ate in.

We ordered Garlic Naan, Paneer Paratha, Onion Kulcha, Paneer Makhani, Sabji Masala, Baingan Bartha, Samosa and mix veg Pakoda. Overall I really liked the food. Naans and parathas were the best. Paner Makhani was very good, Baingan Bartha was good, Sabji Masala was OK. Garlic Naan is the best. Garlic naan was a little burnt along the circumference but nothing out of the ordinary. We were a party of 4 and there was little left over at the end(We were really hungry). The food quantity for the price is reasonable. Bottom line: Naans and Parathas: A+ Curries: A– Samosa: B Mix Veg pakoda: B– Oil content in Naans and curries: C– Flavour and taste: A Overall rating: B+(4/5, A+ being 5⁄5 in my book) Will visit again for the Naans and Parathas and Paneer Makhani.

I eat here about 2 – 3 time per month! I typically get it to go and eat it at my house. They’re open late and always provide A+ quality. They have the best Nan in the world. — onion nan is my fave! We always order Sagg Paneer, chicken Tikka Masala with 2 orders of nan and a side of white rice. Delicious! Great service and very quick! Restaurant isn’t the best dine in experience, but it’s perfect for a quick delicious meal!

Party: 2 Ambiance: Casual money spent on avg: $ 40 Service: very friendly and attentive When my boyfriend and I first walked in, we saw trays upon trays of what we later learned was namak para(a savory snack of India and Pakistan). We asked the waiter about it and he brought us a tray to sample. We ordered the Rogan Josh(classic lamb curry, $ 11.50), coconut prawn curry($ 11.50), garlic naan($ 3), keema naan(leavened bread stuffed with minced lamb, $ 4.50), and mango lassi($ 4). The curries came with basmati rice. Although the portions of the curries seemed quite small, the food was delicious and very filling. Also, our waiter/server was very polite and attentive and made the experience that much better! They also serve baked goods and what I perceive to be desserts. I absolutely loved the namak para and would love to try the other bakery items next time!

The Unilocal app told me this place was closed– and considering it’s Diwali, I wasn’t surprised. But then I drove by and saw an open sign, so I pulled in. In addition to serving as an indian restaurant, this place also has a bakery and seems to do catering orders. But all I wanted was some good lamb aloo and garlic naan. Ordered them both from the scowly-faced older man who seemed like he may be an owner. Saw a few other men present in the back kitchen, but only interacted with Scowls. Waited at a table for a few short minutes while my order was made– long enough to notice that all of the tables had fancy cloth table clothes instead of those laminate plastic ones, and they all matched, which is even rarer to find. I liked this restaurant. The service? Not so much. Scowls took several minutes to process my cash transaction, then glared so hard at me as he gave my change back that I was a bit concerned. Not sure what I did to offend this guy, but he’s possibly the least friendly person I’ve met in the Bay area– which is remarkable, considering I’m from Texas where everyone is friendly. Food was decent. Nice and hot, good spice. However, considering it’s called«lamb» aloo, I only found a few small pieces– the larger chunks in my dish were of either squash or possibly pumpkin. Not unwelcome, I love veggies, but not when I’m craving meat. Garlic naan was quite good. Chewy and flavorful without being dry.
