All these years and I never tried it. How can this be if I call myself a chicken expert. I was pleasantly surprised! This location gets fairly busy during lunch but service is quick and chicken was good. Not too expensive and love the salsa/condiment station. It was a business lunch so picked up for about 10 people… had no idea I had to pre-order for large group but they made it work for me. The sides were good, too! I see a few negative comments but it was not my experience at all! I’m a fan!!!

So came here at 10:20pm to get a quick bowl to eat tonight and I was told that they were closed. Then this guy walks to my car and tells me it’s only on Friday and Saturday they are open till 11pm. WTH! That seriously did not make any sense because I was there last Wednesday night around the same time, and I was able to get something in the drive thru. I’m guessing the manager was not there tonight so they decided to close up shop. As far as the food goes, it’s okay. I am not a huge fan but when I don’t want a burger or I just want something to eat, it’s a good alterative to Taco Bell. But needless to say, I will not be eating here again.

My enchilada reminded me of Lucky’s $ 1 frozen enchiladas. I tried to force myself to eat it because I had to come back to work right away so I did not have much time to order something different. I put the biggest effort but it did not seem to be enough. I just couldn’t do it. As I was leaving the restaurant I saw a street dog sitting outside the front door, he was skinny and looked really hungry so I was tempted to take the food with me and give it to him but he did not deserve that so I left the food on the table and left. Both the dog and I stayed hungry the rest of the day but we stuck to our principles and refused to eat this low-quality attempt of enchilada.

Just got a salad here. They ran out of the creamy cilantro and gave us light creamy cilantro and it expired on 1-19-2016. It smelled funny and was brown. Called and no one answered. Not good and I’m sure the health dept won’t like it either.

Second time in a row that my order was wrong and missing items that I was charged for. Today I ordered two salads and two burritos. I only received two salads and a fork and a spoon. You suck el polo loco!

Asian customer was ordering food and was being very difficult with cashier. Asian/Peruvian Spanish speaking was rude and insulting to the Mexican cashier. Poor cashier. He was very professional and nice to customer. Peruvian guy should go to a Pollada not pollo loco. Keep it up Cashier! Manager didn’t want to get involved lol. Scared !

They close at 11 supposedly. It’s 10:15 as I write this. How can I rate them if they close earlier than expected? Yay!

One of my favorite chicken places. The last two times I went to this location the place has looked filthy and gross. I had to just walk out the last time. I felt discussed to have walked into it.

Ugh, what happened? I come here for lunch a few times each week. Past few times I’ve visited here, my order was incorrect. It’d be fine if it was just a missing beans, ehh. Both times have been something large and expensive you’ve messed up on. Few weeks ago, it was a large tortilla soup, today it was 2 wings? I just don’t see this as a return visit until you clean up your act. I like the food, but something has happened in the past few months there.

I love this place. Amazing cheerful service. Good value for $. Delicious fresh salsa. Good variety of options. Horchata. Had the chicken avocado quesadilla — yummy yummy. Manager came by offering more chips! Another employee offered wet wipes. I’m I tripping or is this a fast food joint?!

Wow surprisingly it was pretty good! I ordered a #2 with mash potatoes and mac and cheese. The chicken was good w/pico de gallo and the green sauce(whatever that was) The skin was so yummy! So much flavor! The mash potatoes were pretty good too! The mac and cheese were okay, didn’t taste bad, taste like something a school cafeteria mac and cheese would taste like. I’d come back for more!

My mom is obsessed with El Pollo Loco. She lived in California before I was born and then moved to the PNW. Well, now I moved to California and informed her that I was living within five miles of two EPL’s she flipped out. It is quite good for mexican fast food. Worlds better than Taco Bell, obviously. I got the double chicken bowl and it was great. The salsa bar was nice as well. It was really crowded when we went and it was a little off-putting because for some reason in crowds people turn into monsters. The customer service was great. A person who didn’t take my order knew my name somehow, which was kind of funny. She recommended something to us to try the next time we were there as well which I always appreciate. We also ordered two churros to go and the lady told us to take four instead. Two free churros? Nice.

I loveeeeee El Pollo Loco. Unfortunately they are remodeling so only drive through is available now meaning a line of cars of at least 10 during dinner.

This is a really lousy El Pollo Loco. Mind you, I generally like the food at these restaurants, but this one is not good. 1) Drink machines didn’t work. When I explained that after buying a drink, they did nothing. When I pressed, one of the people behind the counter said she would get me the drink I wished, and got something else, instead. My son wasn’t ever able to get the drink he paid for. 2) The line moves really slowly. There were only 3 people ahead of us waiting at the(one) register. 18 minutes later we finally ordered. 3) Food didn’t taste too fresh. This is unusual, as most El Pollo Loco places I’ve been to move their food pretty quickly, so freshness isn’t an issue. So, add it up. They sell product they cannot deliver. The wait it long. The food isn’t up to standard. A definite«avoid» in my book.

I tried this place for the first time today, and I am 25 years old(is that weird?) I actually thought this was a fried chicken place synonimous to Popeye’s chicken, but it’s not! It is a mexican fast food type of place. I came in during the lunch hour to get something for myself and a co-worker, and it was packed(Which is a good thing) In the short amount of time that I was there, the customer service was actually really good. The older lady at the cashier counter was really friend and gave me a nice smile as I ordered. The price was a little high for fast food, so I had an expectation. When I got back to work, I dug in. The churros that I got as a snack were tasty, two made up the size of one long churro. The horchata there was okay. It wasn’t authentic horchata, that’s for sure, but, it wasn’t bad tasting. The chips I got on th side were whatever, I don’t even know why I mentioned them: P The stuffed carne asada quesadilla was the main event. The size of it was much smaller than I anticipated, which was a let-down. The flavor of te quesadilla however wasn’t half bad. Overall; the high price kind of deters me away, but this unique flavor is something to try out if you like. Not a must have.

Located at El Camino Real and Morse; a casual dining mexican restaurant, known for their fire-grilled chicken, fresh salsa and quacamole, etc. They now accept EBT card for those who uses this payment method, can occupy up to 56 visitors, offers outdoor seating, and who doesn’t enjoy a background music?! I love entering a restaurant with a little music background. Kind of lightens the mood, right?! This chain is our spot whenever I’m exhausted from work and don’t feel like cooking dinner. You guys, I’m a chicken lover and I love it with a passion when my chicken is overwhelmingly tasty and flavorful with spices and herbs just like what this food chain offers me every time I frequent. For the most part, we’ve never eaten here, just order take-outs though. I haven’t tried the healthier side of their menu like the salads and bowls. I should definitely give it a chance next time. Pretty much, I come here for the 8 piece chicken only(precisely $ 10.86 with tax included), sometimes with or without tortillas and rice. I’ve not yet encountered a time when the chicken was dry or burnt; rather it was unfailingly moist and juicy each time I ordered. I’ve been lucky enough that this place has not disappointed me in years. I’m a fan of their marinated chicken, with lime or lemon juice, and throw in some of that special herbs. I love the fresh salsa, too. Oh man, what my taste buds will do for a great taste of their chicken! :D Service was definitely good! The staffs have always greeted me with smiles and that’s how I like it as far as service goes. Give me a smile, and I am sold. :D

OK I’m going to sound like the cheapskate that I can be at times. In regards to fast food, EPL is relatively expensive. I bought the 8 pc. family meal that comes with a salad and two sides. It’s $ 20 for 8 pieces of chicken, a container of whole pinto beans, Spanish rice, 4 corn tortillas, a bagged salad mix with a few cranberries and chopped nuts and a container of what seems to be about 2 tablespoons of dressing. 4 churros are also included. I added two small drinks, and the total came to $ 25.43. That seems like a lot of food, but when pricing everything out, they’re making a lot of profit. The chicken is good, but the pieces are small –they make a lot of it, hence the name –one can see the behemoth grill behind the front of the cashier area and the impressive amount of chicken on it. The meals are all dark meat, which is a lot less likely to dry out so the chicken comes out pretty good. The pluses: The staff is really friendly. The drive-through is fast and efficient. It’s a better alternative to Taco Smell or K-Fry.

My go to «fastfood» spot whenever I’m in Santa Clara, because I don’t believe in other fast food spots … except Taco Bell– gross, I know. I always get their 2 piece meal, with rice and mashed potatoes and corn tortillas. The fries are also really good here. Roasted chicken with it’s crispy skin tastes great with just salsa and corn tortillas, simply delicious. Avocado salsa, yum! The drive-thru is always really fast and the women working work with smiles and are genuinely nice. The food costs a little bit more than other fast food places, but the quality is much better.
