Tonic Nightclub

The best night club in Santa Barbara. The music is great and the service is even better, there is multiple environments. The dance floor is a lot of fun and the DJs Rock. The manager Dan, and the bartender Jerimie are a lot of fun & very attentive. I would recommend it.

If you’re looking for a place to end your night, Tonic is it! Tonic is where you find your new age EDM and shots.

Terrible security, biased and bigoted dress code («baggy clothes» and «sneakers» only get you blocked if you’re not white), full of creeps and bros. why don’t you focus more on keeping creeps from sexually assaulting women in your club and less on making sure your club is full of mediocre pastel button down shirts and ugly slacks?

Went to what was supposed to be a kinky costume party the Saturday before Valentine’s Day here, and the only other people dressed up there were people who were paid to dress up (workers, dancers). Just a bunch of creepy dudes in the crowd salivating over me and sexually assaulting me AND HELLO WHERE ARE THE SECURITY GUARDS???
Oh right they’re out at the front preventing Black and Latino men from getting in for their pants being too baggy or some other stupid shit while White dudes get in wearing hoodies and sneakers.
One bouncer even groped me while I was waiting for my über with my boyfriend. I punched him back, but really he needs to get fired so other women don’t get sexually assaulted by assholes like him.
Not about this place.

Worst club you can go to the service is horrible and the club is run down. Lines are always long cover charge is always too much. Do yourself a favor and don’t experience this club

Unsure about cover charge if there is any etc. but I went with a whole group of girls (2 different bachlorette parties) So I doubt we would of been charged (If the bars/​night life is anything close to what Vegas is like.)
Overall: This place had a very fun atmosphere. They had a great DJ, who knew what he was doing. I only went to the one inside, It looked like there was more stuff outside, but we didn’t get a chance to go check it out.
Only thing I was surprised about was that they closed at 1:30am (I thought that all bars close at 2am) However, found out that apparently that’s how every bar in Santa Barbara is.
But we had a good time in the little amount of time we were here!
Wish we would of came earlier to experience more of this night club. It was fun while it lasted!

This place is so scummy. Do not go here. I had an entire purse stolen with car keys, iphones, passport inside and no one working was willing to even look if it was turned in, behind the bar or help me out. They told me «it happens all the time». Unfriendly and untrustworthy. Do not waste your time.

Worst place ever. I understand it’s a club and should expect typical crappy service but damn it was terrible. The only good thing here that is top notch is the security they are all super chill and treat the guest with respect. However, the bartender sucked I ordered a Moscow mule and that shit tasted like rotten milk. I even tipped the bartender for that nasty drink they should fire that guy. And they need to enforce the dress code and not let punk ass kids in with Jordan’s on. That get upset when then accidentally get stepped on. It’s a fucking club shit like that happens. Talking about how expensive they are and how they are worth more than you are. I will not come back, don’t come here

This nightclub has a great location and space. The staff is also very nice. However, the music could be improved. I was there on a Saturday night and payed a cover of 5 $ which is ok. But the DJ was an amature. The music didn’t flow together and there weren’t any transitions. Brief moments of silence killed the mood. At one point everyone on the dance floor just stopped dancing because of the confusion. I know that the DJ can do better. They just need practice. Meanwhile if they charge a cover at the door, they should have someone with a little more experience. I will be returning, because I’m sure this can be better.

Went on a Friday around 11pm and it was basically empty. My friend and I decided to stay since there was no cover, lots of space, and great music. Close to 12 it had a good amount of people!
Went on a Saturday around 11pm and the club had a whole bunch of people. Still no cover, good amount of space, and great music!
This place has EDM hip hop today’s hits kind of music.
There are platforms to dance on around the DJ!
The drinks are normal.
The bouncers were cool and the bartenders were friendly.
Overall I had a great experience, I’d recommend checking this club out if you’re club hopping around state street!

Really rude!!! I lost my key there and they did find it because they know how big it is and how it looks but they don’t give me my key which was lost inside… That’s ridiculous! They just care if you go insid and spend your money… They don’t care if you have fun or not… I had a very bad ending … Also they kick my friend out with no reason … My friend went outside and had a call and she couldn’t get in again… Which was ridiculous… No wonder the customers there less and less..

We were just strolling downtown after the shops closed early on Sunday of Labor Day Weekend and since there was no cover charge decided to check it out!
There were two dance floors, one inside which played hiphop and the outside had EDM with a bar and cabanas. Multiple restrooms and the lines weren’t too long for the drinks.
Sex Panther was Djing at the Sunday Session Labor Day Weekend Event. It was awesome. The people there knew how to have fun and drinks weren’t too bad either. Everyone enjoyed the music and when the sunsetted they had lights that went with the music.
Cool place to check out!

The Owner of this place is a racist asshole. My black friend who had her ID got denied for entry when my white friend actually forgot her ID and they let her in!!! the drinks are ok for a bar and the servers are great but all in all this place is SHIT and probably a pet of something bigger… Like racism. Gentrification. Discrimination. Sexism. Classism… Anything basic about you this place will exaggerate and make
You feel foolish about.

It’s a night club and they have a dress code that is super racist against me just because my clothes are way to big and I have tattoos on my face and neck. They would not let me in for just that. Obviously racist against me. Cuz you know my race is defined by how I decided to poorly dress myself daily and made the excellent a+ choice of getting face tattoos while not being a tattoo artist.
Anyways they took 1 minute and 37 seconds to get to me when I was waiting at the bar (I timed it) they weren’t even that busy there was only a 100 other people waiting. I made sure to wave my debit card in the bartenders face so they would get to me quicker, works every time, I highly suggest it. Drink wasn’t even that strong so I made sure to Roofie myself.
Don’t even get me started on the food either. Definitely would not recommend it.
The music was super loud too what is this place a night club?
I had a terrible time at this awful racist loud place. ⁵⁄₅ cuz I really want them to let me in and I keep coming back with new fake id’s every week.

Terrible place
I was denied entry because my pants were too long. My pants were perfectly fitting pants that were not long at all. I am told that many people have experienced this especially Latinos

I suggest to all latinos to go elsewhere because obviously this club does not want our business.
The men at the door are judgemental, and arrogant AGAINST LATINOS. I personally witnessed clean cut well dressed latinos not allowed to come due to their dress code. However other people in shorts and flip flops had no problem being allowed in.
The men at the door do act like they work for the secret service when in reality what they are is one step below a mall cop.

It was nice walking into the club with VIP-​like treatment. bypassing the regular folks as they glared over while they were in the regular, long line. Tonic has one main dance floor and a nice outdoor patio. This place is perfect for dancing the night away with great music playing and a fun crowd. totally reminded me of Vegas/​SD nightlife and I forgot I was in Santa Barbara for a minute: P

–great DJ’s playing mostly EDM with a little bit of hip hop music in the mix

Surprisingly clean bathrooms.
Loved the music! Of course every night club gets a little electronic-​y (which is not really my style) but this place mostly kept the music the way it is. Everyone really enjoyed the music.
Cool outdoor area (and bar too!) when you need to get away from the dance floor.

I’ve been going to tonic for over a year now, nearly every weekend. I think they play the best music out so the dancing is fun. However, lately the bouncers have been on a power trip and will find any reason to give me or my friends a hard time at the door. It’s really not worth going to if you have to fight your way in every single time. You’re better off spending your money at EOS or Wildcat.
Tonic has definitely lost a loyal customer.
