Sandbar

This is not an establishment I would visit. My fiancée and I wanted to make reservations because we are getting married in Santa Barbara and wanted to celebrate our night with great music and food according to the reviews. The issue: we do not drink. Just because we are non drinkers does not mean that we are not allowed to enjoy and spend out money on food and non alcoholic drinks. When I said that we are non drinkers-​the emails to make reservations ceased. So because we are not the kind to get wasted and would rather be sober to enjoy our wonderful time in a city we have never been too and will be celebrating a moment in our history, our money isn’t good enough for this business. OK fine, thank you for letting me know what you think about customers and I will make sure to enjoy Santa Barbara without this business. We made our reservation elsewhere.
Sandbar, discriminate much?

We were just in town for the weekend for Father’s Day and we did some shopping on state street and decided to stop in for happy hour. The service was ok, server forgot to put in our order of chicken strips but other than that we loved it! The patio was amazing and the horchata Piña colada was so so so yummy! We will be back!

Great for brunch. Sat outside. Really friendly service. Food is good, but portions on the smaller side. The carnitas Benedict was amazing!

The BF and I took a trip to SB for the weekend and found this place while walking along State Street. We came in the evening for the dancing and drinks. Overall we really liked this place. The drinks were cheap and the bartenders were generous with the alcohol. The DJ was playing good music when we were there so of course that’s a plus. There are quite a few places on State Street and this place wasn’t to busy so we were happy about that. We were able to grab a table, drink, and dance the night away. Overall we enjoyed it and will def come back for drinks when we visit again!

Had brunch here this morning and you can’t beat the price. The bartender Brandon was great! Super attentive and never let our glasses get empty. Will definitely be returning

One star for rude management! His name was Aaron and definitely should not be managing! Confrontational should not be your first and last impression of a restaurant. That’s all I have to say about that.

Amazing service, great food, ample seating, awesome bar, and a dance floor — What more could you ask for? We were visiting from the bay and Shotts was more than helpful in recommending some sites to see and Chelsea was the sweetest waitress we had the entire trip. Thank you for showing us a fun time. Can’t wait to come back!

I’ve been extremely disappointed with food and bars in California so far. I came across Sandbar last night and I was beyond impressed. The waitstaff was extremely friendly (and attractive) and they seemed to really care about making sure I was getting everything I needed.
I ordered the ceviche and it was amazing. Everything was super fresh and delicious. I had «The Perfect Margarita» and it was damn near perfect. Prices were fair too!
Definitely worth checking out!

I love Sandbar, it’s the perfect place to just chill and hang out with your friends while enjoying a drink or a meal.
Every Sunday from 9am to 11am they have the special brunch deal where you get an alcoholic drink + brunch entrée for only 7.50 $! Best brunch in town! Must check it out!

Ok. Monday afternoon and we were cruising state street after a lovely weekend in Santa Barbara and found this place.
It was a great find for what it is. Actually it was better then what we expected it to be! Amazing fish, Pescado Del Dia, and ceviche — we even love the free chips and salsa. The chips were thin and warm and lightly seasoned. The salsa is homemade, which is not what we expected when we discovered it. The staff was good, sweet natured and friendly.
Sitting out doors on state street — this is an exemplary Santa Barbara cantina with great tequila and probably really hops on the weekend!!!
Great happy hour from 3 – 7 pm Sunday through Friday.

This is place is sooo fun! I used to go here all the time in college and it was always a BLAST! Cinco de Mayo is definitely the best day I have been here they gave out sombreros and it was just so fun! My friends and I went for alumni weekend recently and it was just as fun! Not as crowded as I remember it but we went at kind of an off time…
We sat around the fire put which adds a great ambiance for about 2 hours and had some margaritas and relaxed in the sun. Although it is a chill vibe in the day, at night this place can get wild with a DJ and dance floor! They pretty much provide something for everyone.
The unique thing about sandbar is that it is both indoor and outdoor, so it is a good day to go on days with great weather, which is pretty frequently in Santa Barbara!

After a long, hard day of wine tasting (life is tough in the Big City), we went to Sandbar for a little food, a lot of hydration and some unwinding.
The atmosphere here is lively and fun; the bar area has a decidedly cozy feel to it. It gets better, they have great happy hour prices, which include several food choices.
We ordered nachos, taquitos, and chicken quesadillas. The portions were large, and everything tasted really good; it’s very hard to argue with the value proposition her.
With a location right off State Street (Santa Barbara’s main drag), as well as a friendly and efficient wait staff, it’s really hard to go wrong by stopping into this place to whet your whistle and/​or have a bite.
I’ll be back!

THE SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY INEXCUSABLY HORRIBLE. The WORST I have ever experienced in my life.
My girlfriend and I wanted Mexican food today. We took the negative service reviews on Unilocal with a grain of salt and gave Sandbar a chance…
What a mistake.
We were there for brunch. Got sat immediately and salsa with chips (some odd chili salt on the chips) came quickly. The waiter asked for our drink order pretty fast… We NEVER saw him again! 15−20minutes later we still had not received our drinks. (Water and beer take a long time I guess… Scarce commodities!!!)
I cannot comment on the food as I would have died of malnutrition waiting for food!
This place needs new management!!!

Fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner. Best deal is breakfast. Sat and Sun 7.50 for brunch. 9−11am only

Love the food here and the atmosphere. Service has always consistently good and I’ve visited multiple times. It’s a little bit pricey but they have a terrific birthday deal if you join their mailing list where you get TWO free entrees for yourself AND a guest. It’s over a $ 20 value and probably the best restaurant birthday offer that I know of in Southern California.

This place is so fun! Been here multiple times for birthdays & the staff is great with big parties.
Service: ⁵⁄₅ every time I’ve been here. Our server the last time we were there was so great so S/​O to Chelsea
Food: in my personal opinion it’s kind of pricey but I’m a poor college kid. They have happy hour which is nice. But I’ve never had anything I didn’t love (highly recommend the nachos de la casa)
Atmosphere: so fun all the time & great for big parties

Out of all places we went to in Santa Barbara that evening, this was my favorite.
Loved the vibe and seating arrangements, even on a chilly evening it was nice and warm under the heaters.
Drinks were fantastic, we had several, all very well made, great quality and unique options.
Prices are high, but given the area on par with everywhere else.
We passed on food, so no comments on that, but the service was great and this is a nice place to stop while out on the town here!
Live bands going on all well and they were pretty good, worth returning!

War sehr voll an dem Abend, das heißt ja schon was. Da es keine Tür zum Lokal gibt und der Eingang offen gestalten ist, war es trotz Heizstrahler etwas kalt.

I understand they remodeled and revamped this place but I was left so underwhelmed.
Reserved a table for a bachelorette party of 6. I asked for the ‘best table at the place’ and was seated right next to the hostess stand and our party was heckled by most people that walked by.
We seriously were not able to put a drink order in for an excruciating, sobering 30 min. The waiter… Who seemed annoyed with us right off the back, recommended the ‘Blackout Beach’ to share at the table. It is by far the worst $ 15+ I have ever spent on alcohol. I love sweet drinks but this tasted like water syrup… Without booze. And it was barely big enough for 2 people to split let alone 6… And the music was boring.
For dinner I ordered shrimp tacos. I made myself eat them but I didn’t really enjoy or not enjoy them. The presentation was spot on but the flavored really weren’t.
I did love the idea of Jell-​O shots in syringes though.
This ain’t a ‘state street’ caliber restaurant fo sho…

O lugar é bem legal, com decoração animada e iluminação caprichada.
Muito bem frequentado, bem badalado, e drinks caprichados.

L’happy hour offre une bonne affaire. Le service est rapide est le personnel est gentil. L’ambiance convient bien aux petits groupes

Good Club in SB-​Downtown. But i would recommed the Bars and Clubs around UCSB.

Alle Jahre wieder. Nette Location mit tollen Bieren vom Fass. Hervorragender Tequila. Kein besonderes Publikum und kein besonderes Essen. Alles in allem aber ein typische California Bar

Ein überfüllter Laden, der leider nicht mit deutschen Clubs zu vergleichen ist. Es werden starke Drinks serviert, demensprechend ist das Publikum (geschätztes Durchschnittsalter Mitte 20) ziemlich schnell ziemlich voll. Dennoch wird nicht zu der Charts-​Mukke getanzt, sondern nur volltrunken rumgebaggert
Um 2 Uhr ist (wie überall in CA) Schluss.
