Dante is cool. The new girls don’t know how to read passports so don’t go there if you have a foreign passport. «They don’t feel comfortable taking that as a form of id »

While some of their policies may be gender based and discriminatory, Heather holds it down at the bar. The proprietor, Dan, is a tool. The bouncer/security to patron ratio is suspiciously high. It felt like the employees genuinely enjoyed each other and interacting with the guests but hated working there. Our bartender, Heather, was really the only redeeming quality of this dive bar.

The reason I’m such a big fan of O’Malleys is because of the bartender Jorey. He was great, entertaining, friendly, and helped me celebrate my birthday by suggesting different drinks and other places to try in Santa Barbara. The drinks are reasonably priced and the environment can be fun. Without Jorey, this bar is good, but Jorey definitely made our experience at O’Malleys great!

This is the second time I’ve shown up and the second time I’ve been disappointed. What establishment treats a veteran like a second class citizen on Veterans Day?. The bar tenders were just rude and lazy. Both male and female bathrooms had three individuals coming out of there doing im not even sure what. The selection of alcohol is substandard compared to every other bar down state street. Management wouldn’t even care about this one review but that’s fine hopefully someone reads this and manages to salvage their night. Absolutely incredible how bad the bar tenders were plus how neglected the restrooms were. I get it, it’s a bar none the less this is such a subpar bar compared to the rest of the ones on state street. If it weren’t for the college students who didn’t know any different Id say this bar would have been ran out of business a while ago. Btw what bar has no bar tenders behind the table because they’re too busy talking to whoever is was outside the bar?

God, I have been coming to this place forever and have so many stories to tell but none are fatter than the stories of fiesta. OK, I am feeling feisty so I will share a great Michael Jordan story, for those of you who do not know Michael Jordan is one of the owners of this bar and is a guest bartender any given fiesta days in Santa Barbara so as you can imagine the lines are crazy to get to the bar and it is hilarious. So anywho, fiesta sometime around say 2009 or so we are drinking with this guy and he is the biggest Michael Jordan fan in the world and has pictures and posters at him all over his bedroom, a little strange for a guy in his mid 20s I must admit but whatever. So his girlfriend is working at O’Malley’s and she goes in the back with Michael Jordan who takes her to the hole and the two of them get caught doing the nasty and this guy’s heart is broken for life and the look on his face was priceless!!! Man oh man, I have yet to have a fiesta that did not have a raging story like this one like that gangbanger from the west side that i pegged in the head with my full beer from across the room like I was playing dodgeball, I rocked his ass so hard that even his Homie’s could not stop laughing for a half an hour!!! It was so funny that no one even got in a fight over it!!!

Came here Saturday night with a few friends. Fun atmosphere when you walk in and, they have an outside area too. However we made our way upstairs to the second level of the bar, little less crowded but still good music to hangout and dance. The bartenders though we’re terrible. Pretty sure one girl was more drunk than anyone in the bar. The other bartender was on the side talking to her boyfriend most of the time. I had to wait to be served a beer for a good fifteen minutes cause the intoxicated bartender was too incoherent to hear anyone’s orders. My buddy had paid with a credit card and she forgot to give him his card and receipt. He had to stay there and yell«can i have my card back» half a dozen times before she realized. Get new bartenders upstairs!

I was there Saturday during fiesta. I got a drink, paid w/$ 100 dollar bill, and when the lady had gone to get me change, I threw confetti, and they kicked me out. I had my girlfriend ask for my change, and they told her they didn’t remember what guy she was with. Shady. I’ve called 3 times and left messages w/no response. I’d like my money back.

Ok. I thought I was crazy for thinking the bartenders were downright RUDE, until I read all the other reviews. My fiancé and I spent nearly 100 dollars on drinks last Friday, only to be treated like crap. We were having an AMAZING time in Santa Barbara only to have some a**hole bartender ruin the night for us. It sucks. We did nothing wrong and the entire night were wondering why he all of a sudden was so rude to us. Is it that hard to be nice to a couple who’s only spending MONEY there and keeping the drinks flowing? Drinks are ok, music was fun on a Friday night. But go into this bar with the mindset that people will be super rude to you. Not fun. It ruined the perfect night we had going. What a bummer.

First of all HORRIBLE hospitality. Don’t waste your time. Terrible music. Don’t want to give you food. And drinks are horrible. The manager named Evan(who also works as a security guard) is a horrible human being who has no respect for others. Even the owner, Dan, didn’t step up when I was complaining. Sure it’s less busy than other bars. but that’s for a reason.

A lot has changed since my last review of this place 4 or 5 years ago. I still come with groups but find myself coming«solo» too. I’ve come to know the regulars and the bartenders as well and everyone is really down to earth. I’m not talking about when you come on a night that’s slammed and standing room only(also fun if that’s what your night consists of) I’m talking about all the other times. The beer selection is great with a large amount of craft beer on tap. They have crazy low happy hour prices that can turn your ‘stopping in for 1′, to a day of drinking. A few more times in this place and I just might be considered a regular. Thanks guys!

Terrible service. Never have I had any compulsion to pull a tip after having already submitted it. A great tip warrants good service. Bartending 101: common sense. After leaving(very) generous gratuity I proceeded to become a head in the crowd. Basically, ignored. When I mentioned this to the bartender, she went full bitch-mode. Hire professionals please, not children. It was a Sunday night ffs. To my surprise I actually got my refund on the tip, which now reads an appropriate $ 0.00 from $ 14.00. I won’t be back. Never seen anything like this but I guess white-trash women only have so many options for employment. Shitty dives will have to do for shitty personalities.

Disgusting. Revolting. Stomach-Turning. Pigs. Those are just a few words to describe the security who work here. My experience was with one in particular. Do not come here if you are a woman. The men who work here have the BIGGEST egos, and the SMALLEST brains.

I have never been to an Irish Bar and had bad service. I guess this is not an Irish bar. I brought 7 people into the bar, we sat together, pulled some tables and chairs together, and after 15+ minuets, in the bar, no one had even acknowledged we existed. Only the people sitting at the bar seemed to get attention. We left. Spent well over 300 dollars at the English bar across the street. Change your name to «sit at the bar or we don’t know you exist.» I went back there that same night sat away from the bar and wrote Unilocal reviews for them the sand bar and the English bar across the street, and no one came to take my order. Is it because I have dark skin? You deserve 0 stars.

i have to say i am very disappointed. i found out this bar is owned by michael jordan… maybe but if it is he needs a new bartender. me and two other friends went here and got the worst service ever. bartender was a male maybe mid 30’s very rude. my friend ask for a sample of a beer that he had never tried before and the guy responded«we don’t do samples“really wtf that’s rude and he ignored us for a awhile… so some advice if you go to this bar maybe if you are a hot girl wearing nothing he’ll pay attention. i will never go back unless. mj himself gives me a special invite and maybe i’ll get better service #loveyourjobnotthemoney#

The bartenders, specifically Dante and Grif, are pretty damn awesome. They never hesitate to encourage and promote having a great time, whether you’re by yourself or your best friends. They’re social, funny, entertaining, and make great drinks. But more importantly, they provide top of the line customer service. If I had one criticism about O’Malley’s, and even this is a minor one, I just wish their bouncers would be a little more friendly. I realize that they have to put up with drunken idiots most nights, but at least be cool with those who come here often just to have a good time. I love that there are two stories, as well as a backdoor patio area. You can never go wrong with O’Malley’s!

My husband & I visited O’Malley’s around 1pm on a Thursday afternoon. There were 5 people at the bar & they all had drinks, yet it took a good 5 minutes to get greeted because the bartender was too busy talking to them. They seemed to be locals. This put a sour taste in my mouth, because while we’re tourists, we’re also paying customers who chose to give them our business. The guy wasn’t even fazed when we walked in or sat down right next to the people he was talking to! And believe me, i get – having conversations with patrons is great… but when you know the people you’re talking to, at least check out of the convo for a minute to help new guests! For a margarita & a draft beer, it was $ 15! Granted we were in downtown Santa Barbara, but wow! Overpriced for a dive bar, especially coming from a non-attentive bartender.

Its about as Irish as Irish soap. Its a bar that only exists due to the overflow by its neighbor. Uses pandora with ads on the weekends.

No cover but this place sucks. On Saturday, there were two bartenders(one male, one female). Slow service, took FOREVER to get a drink. To top it off, I was overcharged on my drinks. Grrrrrr!

A laid back bar for the college crowd. Cheap drinks. They have projectors so u can watch the big game that day. However the screen needs to be two feet wider so the picture doesn’t go off into the wall. I came here during the day so it was really spacious, but I can only imagine how it is at night.

This is a classic bar that every town should have. There’s a good balance of dance vibes and also a good olé Irish hospitality touch. It’s pretty big and deceiving. There’s an upstairs, downstairs, and a patio as well as a balcony. The drinks are regularly priced, but really strong. Crazy, I think I’ve been here once before, but I can’t remember. Oh SB.
