I’ve been here with my husband to celebrate Birthdays, Anniversaries, and have Dinner Dates. The food is delicious and worth every penny. I absolutely love the cheesecake, it’s thick, creamy and rich. The service is great, everyone is very pleasant and polite. This location is great, this restaurant is enormous. They have separate rooms for sitting, great for meetings or special occasions. I love it in there for special occasions the rooms are very romantic and quite. When you make reservations they’ll ask you if it’s a special occasion. They make it extra special for those occasions without going over the top or being cheesy. Oh, and you gotta try the creamed corn pudding it’s sooo tasty.

Came here the day between my and the boyfriends birthdays(Feb 15th) so we beat the Valentine’s day rush and had an amazing time. We got the 3 course specials(him the filet and me the short rib) with some a la carte apps(tempura onion rings were amazing). The meal came with delicious desserts, but the brought out a chocolate cake with a candle for my birthday(he conveniently forgot to mention it was his birthday celebration too). Service was wonderful. Food was the best meal I have ever had. I went home with a stomach so full, I was doubt I could make the drive back to goleta, but that was my fault because everything was too tasty to stop. I’ve also been here for a reception hosted by a law school for prospective applicants. Free dinner at Ruth’s Chris? I was in. They had standard buffet fare like meat skewers, fruit, cheeses, smoked salmon, and a carving station. They had rotating plates so there was a great variety, but the Ribeye at the carving station was the by far the best part. Once again, I was completely stuffed at the end of the meal, but still could not refrain from the tasty mini desserts they laid out. Offered free cocktails, but not being 21 yet and driving home alone, I did the mature thing and declined, but everyone at my table said they made a good drink. My next goal is to try their happy hour/lounge area.

Came here with reservations for Valentine’s Day, so needless to say the place was packed. When things get really busy at a restaurant, I tend to notice that the quality of food or service takes a dip, but the Ruth Chris in Santa Barbara would have none of it, especially on Valentine’s Day. My GF got the Ruth Classic, which was about 50 dollars for an appetizer, Ribeye, a side, and a dessert. Not sure if they have this regularly, but this is an awesome deal. I regret not getting the same. Instead i went for the gusto and got the cowboy ribeye $ 45, but i would’ve been just as pleased getting a ribeye plus all the extras, which usually run 10 bucks a piece. Can I just say that steakhouse caesar salad’s in general are light years better than any other caesar salad you can get anywhere else, not sure if its because they add anchovies, but the flavor are just so much bolder and they don’t skimp on the dressing. Needless to say, the caesar was awesome. Our steaks came out with an clearly audible sizzle, perfectly seasoned, and cooked exactly as we ordered them. I’m usually a filet man, but the ribeye was a revelation. The garlic mashed had good consistency and garlicky. The brussel sprouts with bacon were ehh. Our waiter and busser were very attentive which is a big plus with me, even with it being so busy.

Ruth’s Chris consistently puts out great steaks and the service is excellent. The Santa Barbara location lives up to my expectations. I had a special bottle of wine that i wanted to have with dinner as a surprise. I made my reservation, came to the restaurant a little early to get the bottle into their wine fridge. Upon arriving, they had the bottle brought out immediately as we were sitting down and a decanter ready to go on the table. Their steaks are wonderful, i’ve been eating them for years and have yet to have a heart attack from the delicious butter that the steaks are finished with. I’ve had basically every cut on the menu, and my favorite from Ruth’s is their full size Filet Mignon, a few shades under medium rare.
