Ciao-A Fine Salon

Christy one of the co-​owners of Ciao has been doing my hair for several years. I have straight, fine, naturally blonde hair. Christy has cut it in varying overall lengths and amount of layers as I tried differing styles — from bobs to below shoulder length, bangs or not. Christy has consistently given me cuts to complement my lifestyle, hair and face so that my hair is easy care, healthy and shiny. She also does my highlights (foil method) so that they blend with my natural color but brighten it up. She is careful to choose the strengths and colors so that as my hair grows they continue to appear very natural over at least 8 weeks. If I can make the time, she schedules in between haircuts/​highlights bang trims.
I have seen her work on many clients with all sorts of hair and styles and have never seen a bad cut. By their greetings and how she’s booked, it’s clear that most clients stick with her once they find her.
The salon itself is a calm and welcoming, and meticulously clean. There’s parking up a little driveway behind the salon or for treatments less than 90 minutes there’s usually street parking (even though Trader Joe’s is right up the street). There’s always a new art show on the walls and often handcrafted jewelry, handbags and/​or jewelry to purchase if you like (right now the jewelry is gorgeous). Ciao also carries all sorts of quality hair products which they sell for good prices.

Tami is the best stylist in town if you have long hair. She’s professional, incredibly skilled, and delightful. Highly recommend this salon!

Charlotte at Ciao has been my stylist for over 14 years — I’ve been going to Ciao nearly as many. She has become a dear friend. My daughter’s stylist is Jill and she adores her. Both Charlotte and Jill go out of their way to make sure that each time we visit our experience is delightful. The level of service has always been exemplary and the level of professionalism shown is of the highest caliber. The music is new and fun and the cookies during the Holidays are awesome! I couldn’t ask for more in a salon or from the people who are part of the Ciao team :)

I was in need of a blow out & shampoo for a wedding on a February Saturday morning.
I was an out of towner, with no appointment and a head of dirty hair. I went to many salons with no help from anyone in the neighborhood. Luckily, when I went to Ciao, Tami overheard me speak to the receptionist, and came to the front when she heard of my plight.
She very kindly squeezed me into her busy Saturday schedule, and gave me the best shampoo & style that I have had in YEARS!!! She is a wonderful, charming and talented woman. I only wish I lived in the area, as my search for a stylist here in the San Francisco bay area has been difficult, and I continue searching to this day.
Tami deserves major recognition for her stellar work and winning personality.

I have been going to CIAO for over 6yrs now and they are FABULOUS! I personally go to Christa Meyers which always does an amazing job. Her haircuts grow out so well and the color is always vibrant and non-​damaging. This salon uses the best products on the market and is great at listening to what you want! Christa charges around 60 – 65 for a haircut. She does great color/​highlights but thos are around 85 – 100. All the ladies there do great hair! Kelly, Christy, Charlotte, and Tami! I always and I mean ALWAYS get compliments on how great and healthy my hair looks after going to CIAO! I believe they work by appointment only :)
