Honestly, my friends and I were just looking to get some sushi but then we found out that it’s probably the best sushi in Atlanta so go get some sushi. What are you waiting for? P. S. Don’t forget to tip the staff in Saki

Tonkotsu ramen — medium rich body, no egg and no option for an egg, decent chashu, tiny amount of nori. A nice touch are the sesame seeds sprinkled on the broth. Not the best tonkotsu in the city by any means but it’s solid. The broth could have been served at a higher temperature. By the time I was near the bottom of the bowl, it was lukewarm(and I’m not a slow eater). Small salad — also solid, good greens and dressing. Better than what I’ve seen in other ramen joints, most of which don’t give you anything else with an order of ramen. Besides the salad, a ramen lunch order also comes with a tasty little piece of cake with whipped topping. Sweet. Service was good because I got there early(first table) but the server started to get real busy by the time I left and I noticed a few tables had been waiting for one thing or another. Diet Coke — 8 oz bottle. Kinda chintzy. Ramen plus Coke ~$ 15 before tip. Nice ambiance — I want to think this was the old RiceSticks location but it seems bigger. I miss RiceSticks. I was seated against a wall even though I indicated a preference for their window table. I guess they wanted to save that for more than one person, which is fair. But the wall seat was uncomfortable. I wouldn’t have wanted to sit there for a longer meal.

Go to Bishoku for fresh sushi. It’s always consistent. They do a seared nigiri that is out of this world. The owner is usually there and is fantastic.

Their chicken liver dish is pretty amazing. My roommate and I call ahead to make sure it’s not sold out!

My family went for the first time and we loved it! The grilled salmon is perfect. Everyone loved their meal(and we had two teenagers with us). The ambience was really nice. You forget you’re in a strip mall. It’s clean and modern with beautiful little details. They had lovely classical piano music playing and the service was great! They serve you a delicious little piece of cake at the end and I was just smitten. This is a place I will bring my guests. We were there for an early dinner on a Saturday and there were just a few other people in the restaurant. We didn’t have to wait to be seated and the staff was attentive as well as pleasant. Two thumbs up.

My husband and I were by the area and wanted to tried a sushi bar. We were truly disappointed. I asked for the soft crab roll and nothing compared to the picture on Unilocal. The food was not great and overpriced. The selection of sushi was very limited. The only reason they received a 2 star from me was because they had a good service. We would not be coming back. Do not try the traditional soup. Is $ 14 and the portion is super small and basically water with a taste of shrimp not worth it!!!

I’ve always passed by this place, but it never looked open. Randomly decided to check it out when we found out they were the previous owners of Sushi Huku on Powers Ferry. I’ve now came here 3 times within a month for lunch! I always opt for the deluxe bento box where you can choose two items from a list. I have gotten the chicken teriyaki, crunchy crab roll, grilled mackerel, and shrimp tempura roll. It also comes with soup, salad(dressing is very tangy), rice, and a small piece of cake(my favorite part of the meal). Honestly, you can’t go wrong if you stick to the aforementioned items.

I have been here a few times and the sushi I normally pretty good and service good too. but last night I went in and the service was terrible. I had to ask for something to drink, I had to ask for refills, for various items and my check. the sushi was not that great, it wasn’t very fresh and it really bummed me out cause I was expecting the food to be good. I subsequently woke up sick In the middle of the night & have been sick all day. I doubt I’ll be back.

We’ve been meaning to come here for over a year, since we live so close by. First they were closed for renovations, and then another time they were closed for no reason. We finally made it for lunch last week, because I’ve been hearing about the lunch specials being so much better than the dinner options. We did the pick 2 combos. My sushi was so fresh that the shrimp tempura were still warm. The teriyaki salmon was perfectly cooked. The ginger salad was arugula and spinach based, and the dressing tasted fresh. The bento pick 2 comes with dessert too: red velvet with whip. Lunch ends at 2pm and we made it just in time. Definitely would recommend lunch.

I really really wanted to like Bishoku because of how close it is to me, but it pales in comparison to other places I’ve been. I suspect that their lunch menu might be better than their dinner menu. Pros –Clean, sleek décor –Friendly service. Like, really really good service especially when there were backed up with sushi/sashimi orders –Blue fin tuna was available and it truly delivered –Free dessert: green tea ice cream or chocolate cake Cons –A little more on the expensive side –Limited dinner menu –Not much variety of sushi rolls Once I attempted to come here on a Monday and they weren’t open for lunch. I was really looking forward to trying their ramen. Finally, sort of late on a Saturday, we decided to give Bishoku a try. We were seated right away at the bar where all the fun is. We had a bit of fun with the sushi chef who was probably poking fun at us for ordering too much food since he told us to save our food for breakfast tomorrow, but here’s where it just doesn’t see worth it: Chirashi sushi for $ 29.99. I was already balking at the price for this vs their Chirashi Deluxe which was $ 36.99 — it’s supposed to have different fish. However, considering the portion size of the regular chirashi, it was too expensive. More disappointing was the fact that some of those cuts of fish were poorly cut. Since when did fish have that tendony bit? I’ve never had this happen to me before. I can understand the fish slice falling apart, but for it to be tough and stuck in your teeth? Something didn’t seem right. The Batera rolls are worth getting if you’re a mackeral fan. They are rectangular-shaped sushi rolls that are served with a different kind of soy sauce. This was probably the only notable roll that I liked from the evening since we also ordered some other ones. I think Bishoku is worth another try for lunch, but I wasn’t impressed with the dinner offerings. The sashimi is definitely a good choice in the evening since orders were backed up. Items from the kitchen are primarily fully-cooked entrees that didn’t really appeal to us when we wanted fresh fish.

I heard this was the best sushi in Atlanta, and although very good, it disappointed in so many ways. Went her for dinner and found the ambiance very nice(we had a little private booth to ourself). However, the group next to us were very loud and obnoxious; was almost like they were sitting at our table. We ordered five different rolls, the Sandy Springs roll being my favorite, along with the spicy tuna, soft shell crab, lobster and one other(can’t remember). These rolls were all very good, but the price wasn’t justified. There are much better sushi restaurants around the area and with fairer prices. Service was excellent also. Bottom line, for good sushi, if you are willing to pay a premium, this is your place!

I’ve only been here for lunch, so no idea if dinner is the same. This place reminds me of Wagaya’s meal style. A ton of food for a very good price. Their Lunch Deluxe Combo is quite a steal. Parking — It’s awesome. The parking lot is huge. There are so many shops in this area, but the main ones I remember it by: Chipotle and the new Battle & Brew. Space and Environment — The space is medium — several tables around; however, this place couldn’t survive a crazy lunch rush, but when I go in for an early lunch, no one is there. I’ve never seen people wait. They even have a neat sushi bar for folks coming in that don’t care for a table. Reasons why I come here for lunch with some of my consultants and/or Co-Workers: 1. It’s quiet 2. It’s quaint & peaceful 3. The setting is nice for a relaxed semi professional lunch. Service — I’ve had the same guy each time I go in. I forget his name, ahhhh. But he’s really nice & attentive. I think he has slight anxiety regarding tables — since I can tell he wants to always be all over them, but holds off. How would I know this? I used to work in the food industry during undergrad and I was the same way, haha. Food — In the Deluxe Combo — you get automatically: Miso Soup & Salad as your apps. Their salad is made up of dark leaves/lettuce :) My favorite. The combo list is pretty long with several food items from teriyaki to sushi to tempura. Kind of crazy to see so many of them. Oh — each combo also includes rice & a small plate of dessert(which btw is very good… a very soft cake!). So cool. I personally like their Spicy Tuna here. I like it better than other places. Tastes spicier and more zing in them. And. eating this alone plus the apps make me full. I always get this as 1 of my choices. I should mention their sushi is packed & given in several slices. Their Chicken Teriyaki is good, not amazing. May want to get something else. Their tempura is massive. Whoa. I can only eat 2 and be done. If you want more bang for your buck, get tempura and a sushi item. You’ll be set. I’ll be back!

So the food is actually quite good. Hopefully you read this review through and realize the stars aren’t for food. Food quality was great. Service was great. Prices — a little high. Party of 2, we had: 1 beer 1 udon 1 sushi plate(8 pcs?) 2 pcs of a la carte sushi 1 app of mushrooms And our bill was $ 90. Maybe I’m spoiled because in NY you can get high quality Japanese for less so maybe its marked up for scarcity? I’m not sure. If you’re willing to open your wallets, then ok go here. Also — I ordered really simple stuff but the ppl next to us got a lot of really fancy looking sushi which makes me think I missed out on the good stuff and need to come back and revise my order strategy. Definitely a place to consider my next business trip out(on the company tab). Let’s say 3.5, not 3 stars.

I have to say I was very impressed with Bishoku. The fish was incredibly fresh. It was like heaven eating the sushi and sashimi. My mouth just seeemed to burst with all the flavor. My date and I had the Bagel roll(they don’t call it that — its basically salmon, cream cheese and cucumbert) the tuna roll and lots of differnt sashimi and sushi. The Ginger dressing was excellent. All of it was amazing. I did take some pics and put them up on Unilocal. I would definitely come back here and so should you. The only draw back is the price. Bishoku is a little pricey. I don’t really care, however, some people may, so I thought I would put in here. Enjoy my friends, enjoy.

If this restaurant is owned by Japanese, I will be really surprised. I absolutely like the décor and ambience. The service was absolutely on par with many top notch restaurants I have been to. Both décor and service an easy A. The food? It’s definitely a B for me. The ginger dressing in the salad was too salty. Then comes to the Tonkotsu ramen. It was quite tasty as a ramen but as a Tonkotsu ramen? It was just very disappointing. It paled in comparison to way too many other Japanese restaurants. The broth was simply not rich enough. Then again, I have to say they were really generous with the portions, lots of noodles and chashu. We were there for lunch, so each of us actually had a small slice of chocolate cake accompanying our meal. It was not the best chocolate cake, but I like the idea of serving a little dessert with lunch. It is always a nice touch.

Bishoku feels a little like a neighborhood restaurant. When you walk in, you will notice that the host/owners are always friendly and greeting everyone. The place seems to have a lot of regulars, who the servers know by name. The ambiance is nice, but casual and not overly dressy. The food at Bishoku tends towards traditional Japanese. There’s not that many crazy rolls or a huge amount of options. When I went, I had the salmon, dragon, spicy tuna, and shrimp rolls. The sushi quality is decent, it’s not the most tasty and fresh sushi out there, but it tastes like what you would get at a better quality restaurant in Atlanta. The green tea is quite nice, and has a good tea flavor. Overall the cost comes to $ 8 – 10 per roll, and probably $ 20 – 30 pp. It ends towards the expensive side, but the people there treat you well, and also give you a few amuse bouche items for free between meals at dinner which make the experience a bit better than you will normally get at other places.

Dinner for two: chicken livers(mmm good, a soy sauce with a bit of ginger, I think, and nice chunks of the meat), a lobster-avacado roll, lightly fried(also quite good), a salmon roll(cooked salmon – a bit different than what I was expecting but tasty all the same), and quail egg sushi(splended) All for a very reasonable price. The service is very attentive. Ingredients are high quality.

I’ve been here before for both lunch and dinner. My fiancé wanted me to try ramen there the first time we went together, for dinner. But it turns out their lunch menu is very different from their dinner menu and they don’t offer ramen for dinner. My fiancé later told me a different server told him that we can still order ramen for dinner if we want to, so not sure what to believe. This time around, I tried fiancé’s tonkatsu ramen — it was quite spicy! He had requested them to make it spicy and they actually listened. I enjoyed the texture of the noodles as well. I went with a lunch special, which I think is a good deal — two choices out of a list of items including rolls, tempura and app items, and you get a salad, soup and a dessert for $ 14. I chose the salmon and cucumber roll and the shrimp tempura roll. I know, not very adventurous, but I was feeling simple. Both were very good. I also really liked the salad and the ginger dressing. Miso soup was just OK, they gave me mostly broth and I would have liked more tofu and seaweed. The dessert ended up being a small piece of cake which they serve to everyone, so not sure that was really considered part of the lunch special. The cake is freaking good though. It’s just a simple yellow cake, fairly«flat» too, like brownie size. But it’s so moist! I could eat a whole pan. Conclusion? The food here is solid, the prices seem to be in line with other places, maybe slightly more. I would go here for the atmosphere — it’s very dark and calming inside, a good place to grab a quiet dinner on a weeknight. Never been here for dinner on the weekend so not sure how crowded it gets. But sushi-wise, I would probably choose Circle Sushi over Bishoku out of the local spots.

I’m baaaacccckkk… Two years later and a business trip matches up with the opening hours! It was good to see owner Jackie again, and I followed her advice and went the«omakase»(chef’s choice) way. Perfect! I had a great progression of fish that ranged from subtle to savory. I did the right thing and did it in that direction… ending up with my beloved ikura(salmon eggs). The thing about a perfect Japanese meal is that you leave feeling just the perfect level of satisfaction. I may, just may, go there for lunch tomorrow and try rolls instead nigiri.
