We were in a bit of a hurry but the staff at Chili’s really made our lunch a good one. Our order came out piping hot but my salmon a little overcooked and dry. It was partially my fault as I didn’t ask them for medium rare but the corn too was a little overcooked as well. They gave us good portions and always had our drinks refilled and asked if we’d like our drinks to go as well.

The food was okay if you don’t expect your ribs to be good. I ordered the half rack of baby back ribs and they were old and overcooked. I was really upset because I am pregnant and I was REALLY craving the delicious baby back ribs I’ve gotten at other locations in the past today. It really ruined my meal. I disappointedly forced myself to eat two of the ribs in hopes of satisfying my craving even just a little. But unfortunately I just left the restaurant sad and still craving a good rack of ribs with three ribs in a box, and it left doubting if Chili’s still makes delicious ribs. The service from our waitress was good. That’s the only reason for two stars. But sadly I even sent my loaded potatoes back because they tasted off. Overall I was very disappointed with the meal I received. And my pregnant craving remains. Perhaps in the future if we ever decide to try again we hope we will receive the delicious food we paid for and hoped would be delivered to our tables today.

My friend and I ordered some lunch from here today and compared to other to-go services, this one was not so great. First of all, their to-go was closed and we had to get our food from the bartender which was fine because he was really nice, but our food wasn’t prepared as well as it was last time. The soups that came in our lunch combo weren’t packaged as well as last time and could have easily spilled in the bag, we didn’t receive any napkins or utensils(so we can’t eat our soup) and the soup didn’t come with any of the condiments listed. Also, they gave us literally 5 fries each with our sandwiches. I’ve eaten at this chilis several times and they fluctuate way too often between their good and bad days. They need to be more consistent and care about customer satisfaction.

First I waited about 20 minutes when clearly there were many tables open but were not being cleaned. When I got sat, it took about 15 minutes for our server to get our drinks, and it wasn’t even our server, it was a nearby server that saw that we had not been helped. When the drinks came, one of the drinks were wrong. Appetizer was good. Entrée was good. It took about 30 minutes for the server to get our tickets. Good food. Terrible service.

This Chilis needs to get their act together. Me and my roommate visited 2 weeks ago, and we waited about 10 minutes before someone greeted us at the table. We had 2 different servers ask us for drinks. It was loud, and incredibly busy. It does not help when you have your server not pay too much attention to you, since he is preoccupied with a table full of sorority girls. Unbelievable! :(

I am writing a quick review on a bad customer service experience. I have been eating at this Chili’s since it opened in the 1990’s, and this is the first time I have had a problem. Basically, Chili’s was very busy the other night, and my boyfriend and I went in to eat. Well, we saw the hostess standing at her podium writing something down on a piece of paper. She saw us but never said anything. We approached her and were the ones that had to ask the young girl to be seated, and she seemed frustrated. With a dirty look and bad tone of voice, we were told that we would have to wait 45 minutes to be seated! We asked her if the bar was open, and she smarted with an attitude, «First come, first serve.» We decided that we would wait, but we only had to wait for 15 minutes. The other hostess was the one who sat us, and she and our server were nice. So, I hope this never happens again. I will not let her talk down to me again. I should have asked for a manager, but it was not that important. I figured that instead of asking for a manager, I would share this bad experience with the world. So, if you are looking at eating at this Chili’s, they do not always have friendly staff. I will only be returning because this rude little girl is not cut out to work in the tough world of customer service and will probably not last!

Not sure what has happened, but this once good restaurant has taken a big down turn. Most restaurants change things up every so often with décor and the menu. Unfortunately somewhere along the way someone chose very badly for Chilis. I doubt the bad experience we had, had much to do with his particular restaurant but rather the chain in general. The wait staff for example was fine. It was the menu, quality of food, the little tv/device at our table flashing ads, and even the bad lighting in the restaurant that was the problem. We ordered nachos, chicken tenders, and wings and no one was happy with their meal. Even with a $ 50 gift card I felt like the remainder we paid was not worth it for the food we had. Unfortunately, we will never go back.

Slow service, and rude waiters and waitresses but overall great food just wished they had a little bit better service and they would receive 5 stars

So I should’ve listened to the previous reviews. They were absolutely true. My boyfriend and I just went to this particular Chili’s because it’s the only thing open due to the storms that have caused literally every road(even I-35) to have spots covered in flood waters. (tl;dr: The drinks are good, the food, hygiene, and service could use a ton of work though) If you’re unfamiliar with this particular but of San Marcos, all the roads leaving north or south cross at least one river or creek so we were pretty much stuck with the restaurant options right nearby. So off to chili’s we went. Right when we got there they guy seating us led us right to a booth with an obviously dirty table saying, «go ahead and take a seat and I’ll get that cleaned off right away» so that was kind of an «…alright» moment for me and my boyfriend. But we sat and order some barbecue boneless wings with blue cheese and some chips and guacamole. To be fair they got us the food really quickly. It would have been appreciated more however if they hadn’t given us buffalo wings with ranch. So there was that but we ate anyways and played games on their little table tablet things and figured we would mention the wings when the server came back… a half hour later. By then my boyfriend had eaten most the wings and I’d settled with the chips so we didn’t bother mentioning it and each got another drink. The drinks were great and reasonably priced for a place that normally(they had a limited menu tonight due to employees who couldn’t make it in with the flooding) so if you want a place with really salty chips and liquidy salsa and guac from people who will probably seat you at dirty tables and screw up your order, this chili’s is your place.

Sean Mac was our waiter. He was the waiter at any comparable restaurant. Food menus have changed since our last visit, so much for the better! Over all, it was extremely fast and inexpensive. My only quip is that one of my forks was not cleaned properly. My family and I have not been to Chili’s in a long time because we did not enjoy the food or the service. Now with the menu change we will be going back a lot more often!

I love and dislike Chili’s at the same time. wierd right… it’s like my go to but sometimes they take too long or something just ain’t right. I did have lunch there today and really liked my 6 oz sirloin. I love rewards too. I have been going to Chilis since childhood they must put a chemical in the food to make me go back there again and again

I’d have to admit that Chilis management sucks. Food is decent if not cold. The service is horrible. We no longer give business to any Chilis. I like the frozen drinks but not enough to go back.

Bad service, the food was taken away without asking if we were done, and the strawberry margaritas tasted more like water.

Worst experience of my life… Multiple people were invited to dirty tables which were half assed cleaned in front of them before they sat down. Waiter seemed angry the whole time. Same guy serving food and filling drinks was bussing and cleaning tables without washing hands. Service was non existent, leaving us drink less for 20 min and waiting 30 min for refill. Refills weren’t the right drinks, and we’re in what appeared to be dirty glasses. Our to go container had food on it, so we left our leftovers. If you get a male waiter with glasses, run for your life! Will not be back again. Health department will be notified!

2 adults and 2 toddlers Terrible service. Food was brought out lukewarm. I’ve never had service this stupid and terrible, ever! In my life! While we were waiting on our refills, we managed to finish our dinner. Unacceptable! I got up and found the manager.(Hint:She’s the one dressed like the janitor.) I brought her to our table to show her empty drink glasses. How am I supposed to finish my dinner? Maybe swallowing my own saliva will help? All I got out of her was a bunch of, I’ve been through this before” I’m sorry’s”. So instead of going and getting our refills, she tells our server and he finally shows up with them. The manager never returned.(Shame on her) I paid my total bill $ 60 bucks and did not leave a tip. I always tip 20% or more. This place didn’t deserve it and I hope the owner realizes that your front of house staff(at least the 2 I had the displeasure of interacting with) are stupid and you deserve up be out of business. I think I even saw the owner? Some old lady who reminds me of Marge Schott(Google it.) This would be a job that after coming to my senses, I would quit and not even mention working here on my resume.(It’ll be considered a set back in the industry.) Furthermore, the 2 star average is correct. Don’t say you weren’t warned. When you’re in the mood for a dumb place, with a dumb owner, come to Chili’s in San Marcos, where they never fail to disappoint.

I give this Chili’s one star due it’s awful costumer service! Once, my husband and I sat at the bar, thinking we’ll get served right away(there was no one at the bar) but we were way wrong. The bartender walked right past us, at her own bar, several times and didn’t even ask us if we wanted a drink, much less offer menu for food. So we walked out. Strike one. Then today, my two sons and I go in and I’m thinking, maybe it will be better because we have an actual assigned waiter… Yeah no, I was wrong. Once again, the waiter walked by our table 3 times and never even took our drink order! So, we walked out again,. Hungry, and frustrated. Strike two! I’m not going give it a chance to get a strike three. Don’t have the time nor patience for that.

They put lots of ice in your drink! You can tell they have their own way of doing things, they gave us plenty of time to order Too! Parking was full and tight! Right near there freeway so you know it’s on and popping! Food was good!

After a bad experience at the Chili’s in New Braunfels, my boyfriend and I drove to San Marcos to use his gift card. This Chili’s at least didn’t have hair in my food BUT food took almost an hour to come out(2 sandwiches with fries) and NO drink refills. We had our food wrapped up to go. The restaurant was not busy(came at 3:30pm) We waited 5 minutes to be seated in the empty restaurant. The elderly couple next to us waited 15 minutes before a server even approached them. Food was good but don’t think this will be my first choice next time.

I’m giving this place 2 stars for the delicious food, but all that food can’t make up for the poor service. If you are looking for delicious food, then come here for the best tasting food at Chili’s I’ve ever had. If you’re expecting great service as well you won’t find it here. It took 10 min. for us to be greeted by our waiter after we sat down. We’ve only see our waiter when he dropped off our drinks, appetizer, and food. Other than that, no interaction. We tried joking with him by making it look like the table check out service was sticking it’s tongue at us(my bf drew a tongue on the paper that was sticking out of the machine), but he seemed to busy to interact with us in an empty.

Pretty disappointed, mostly in the skillet cookie I got at the end of the meal. The southwestern egg rolls were fine, as usual. But thats to be expected when nothing is made in-house. The skillet cookie I received was dry and crumbly, not the gooey, melty, and delicious I’m used to. will not be coming to this location again.(also these little tablets at each table is tacky and unneeded. my friend was exploring what it could do and racked up a $ 1.00 charge on our tab.)
