Red Lobster

Service and food was awesome tonight. My friends and I were very happy with our experience. Thank you to the manager, hostess, and our waitress. Y’all made our night.

Nothing special the shrimp were overcooked and more batter then shrimp. I have had better seafood at steakhouse, all in all not worth the price

I have been coming here for years and this Red Lobster was one of our favorites. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience this past time. The crab meat was way overcooked as the shell was very flexible and wouldn’t even crack. The meat was extremely soft and would tear apart instantly making it impossible to pull it out of the shell. When I mentioned this to the waitress, Sarah, she said she’d «check» with the manager. She quickly came back and asked if the meat was bad. I demonstrated the flexibility of the claw shell and said I couldn’t get the meat out. She said she was sorry and there was nothing she could do. I politely told her it was no problem and I would eat what I could. She must’ve been upset because she only checked on us once after that in the next half hour and only brought a drink refill after my child had to ask for it. Though out the night, I noticed the young male bearded manager standing around visiting with his staff. He never once came to the tables and checked on his customers as I’ve seen past managers do.
I may give them another chance but I think they’re going down hill.

This was the best Red Lobster I’ve been to. Food and service was amazing, the only problems were there was no silverware at our table and once we got it, the napkin had a gross stain on it. Also, one of the small plates that came out with the appetizer was dirty too so we didn’t use it. Minor problems though. Overall wonderful experience. Definitely recommend.

Great food, great service! I’m impressed with the staff and even the manager who came by my table, «just checking on me to see if everything was to my liking.» So if your in town enjoy it as much as I did!

Had a wonder meal full of flavor. Atmosphere was cozy. The staff works as a team. Our Waitress (Tamarica) was delightful and had it together.
We will definitely be taking a short drive back here from Austin to enjoy great food and service.

This is one of the best Red Lobsters I have been to! The service here was great and I only had to wait for a few mins to be seated on a fri night.

I don’t normally write reviews but felt I needed to share my experience. I have not been a big fan of Red Lobster (beyond their cheddar biscuits) in the past. I’ve had a few unpleasant experiences. However, I read a few reviews on the San Marcos location, and because it was close to my hotel, I decided to give it a try.
I have been pleasantly surprised :) my waiter (Brendon) was knowledgable about the menu, forthcoming with suggestions and very polite. The food when it arrived was well presented and tasted great! I have spent my meal time observing the rest of the staff and it has been the same with everyone else. If you are in doubt please give them a try, I’m sure you will not be disappointed

And the biscuits are still VERY GOOD!!!

Like pretty much all RLs, the food is about the same, service is usually top notch, and its a little pricey. Never had a bad meal here or bad service, I have only one complaint, please don’t use lettuce that is already turning brown, just makes a salad inedible. I could have said something to our waiter, but just don’t like to say anything about my food until after the entire table has all the food that was ordered, and by that time I forget. Otherwise a good pick when your in San Marcos and you need an old faithful to punch the ticket.

As a seafood lover, I’ve always been a fan of Red Lobster. Good food and reasonable prices always.
I went out for lunch with my roommates and we were all very happy with the meal! Started off with those amazing biscuits, which were hot every time they brought them to the table. Then we got our main courses, which were all so delicious! Janet ordered the grilled shrimp tacos with rice pilaf. Allie got the shrimp skewers with mashed potatoes and broccoli (definitely recommend getting this! They doubled up the shrimp). And I got the Sailors platter, which had flounder filet, shrimp scampi and popcorn shrimp. Everything was hot fresh and delicious!
Best part, our whole meal was less than $ 30!!! Go for lunch and get the best deal!

My boyfriend and I decided to take the kids out for some crawfish! We called around and around to see who had some, a female hostess answered the phone at red lobster and said yes! We have crawfish! We arrived and ordered our drinks and was informed they DO NOT have crawfish. When calling a resteraunt ask for a waiter or waitress that knows what they’re talking about and knows the menu. Don’t talk to a host or hostess. But over all, food was amazing. And the waiter, Michael, was fantastic!

We were seated promptly after the hostess finished letting our children see (and touch) one of the live lobsters we waited seconds. seriously seconds for the waiter to come get our drink order. Also he was back promptly for our appetizer order. After a comfortable amount of time he returned for our entrée orders he was polite and calm and we never felt rushed the food came out perfect and piping hot.

This is one of the best RL I’ve eaten at. Food was fast, well prepared, and hot.
The store was clean and well kept.

CANNOT order luncheon portions on weekends, No Senior discounts, NO Senior menu, Pasta was ½ done, alfredo sauce like paste, peach tea was all peach juice, with NO tea flavor, AGAIN Baked potato was the size of a child’s fist (that was the dinner portion?) Server removed dinner plate before my son had eaten the last bite of fish. We thought we would give this place another try since we had NOT been there since Dec 2013. At least they are consistent. On the upside… BISCUITS were hot and FRESH!

The restaurant has been taken over by new management and it really shows! The service was also top-​notch. The menu is brand spanking new and the food is to die for! I recommend everyone take a trip to this location for the best seafood in San Marcos, TX !

Like always it was good ! Our food was great ! Service was Exlent ! The drinks are the best in San Marcos ! But I was ready to try something new and I did they have a new menu and I loved it all, had the best lobsters and shrimp with broccoli and a salad exlent !

3.5: Food (0.5 for the biscuits) Bland, but salty– go for blackened fish– it’s got more taste (but not much more)
4.5: Customer Service. What can I say, I’ve been spoiled rotten with charismatic waiters… she was super sweet though, just didn’t have answers to the questions about the fish, at Red Lobster, come on, girlfriend, get it together. Also, the hostess was very friendly and organized.
5: Cleanliness. Clean. I’m not sure if it was the dim lighting or if this place was as immaculate as it seemed. I’ll go with the latter.
Weeeee…I feel like I went into a time machine (backwards). I used to love Red Lobster, even crave it, or consider it a treat: in my middle school to late high school years. Then I went through stages where eating was jut a chore, with no pleasure involved. Nowadays, my palette has become tainted, living in the Bay Area, the quality of food available, has created a monster out of me, a monster food critic… At least that’s the way I see it. Well, maybe even a sucker for a** kissing as well. Mediocre food with a good shot of quality customer service and the restaurant is A-​okay in my eyes.
Considering we are here in the little town of San Marcos and Red Lobster was literally in the same parking lot as our hotel, me and my bendy yoga friend decided to take a trip back in time, kind of like a science experiment. Nah, I’m only kidding, we came for the biscuits. The rest was maybe somewhat of a guess or roll of the dice, but the biscuits were a sure thing!
The flash back was fun. Would I do it again? Probably not.
Are they doing a good job over there?
Oh yeah, they deserve a high five. Keep up the good work, but they need to study that fish they’re serving up!

The food was very good this evening. Our waiter was Eric. He helped us with our order. I got the endless coconut shrimp bites and my bf got the pick any two platter. Our food came out hot and delicious. If you come here ask for Eric.

Food was good, New dishes are really nice. My partner, that is not into sea food, ordered chicken and it was just Ok. But my lobster tail shrimp scampi and pasta was very good.
Service a little slow, but that seams to be a norm here in San Marcos.

Good location, clean rest rooms, friendly staff, good food! The lobster was cook to my likings (photo was a bit off and didn’t catch the true focus), the scallops were grilled just right, the shrimp had excellent taste. The wild rice was cooked «to the tooth» al dente (sp?) The salad was fresh and chilled just right. The manager is doing his or hers jobs perfectly. Everyone was working for one goal in mind. To make the customer satisfied and content. Great job guys well done.
