Best authentic Mexican food in San Jose ! Hands down ! Food is always delicious, costumer service is good. Hoping they make the restaurant bigger as couple times I’ve gone there is no where to sit. Otherwise I love it !

Great neighborhood taqueria. Lunch special combos are cheap and good. They make a great Molcajete which is not shown on the menu for $ 16. It is a ton of food, chicken, Carne asada, fish and shrimp with cactus in a great tangy green sauce. Chips are free and really good too. Staff is always friendly.

Very narrow place with beautiful painting inside. There are plenty of tables outdoors. Don’t even think of bringing a stroller in here. The food here is quiet good and very authentic. I had the al pastor burrito. It was large, perhaps not as large as taqueria el abuelo but close, and the meat was very tangy and definitely had a home style flavor to it. Service is very fast. The salsa bar is not as large as some other places, but they do have the carrots and the spicy cucumbers, as well as radishes.

I live in San Francisco and work in San Jose. Living in the city you know what«mission style burritos» are suppose to be. I’ve been looking for one in San Jose and finally came across this place. Pretty damn close to what I’m use to in the city. Burritos are a good size compared to others in the area and it’s now my go to when I feel like having a big lunch. It’s still missing something and I haven’t been able to figure it out yet but overall this place is a decent place. Rating was 3s but they get 4s because they have some damn good salsa and chips are included with burritos. I recommend this place but please don’t make them too busy so they don’t raise prices!!!

Great taqueria. I have been coming here for over six years. Great burritos and ceviche. Love all the selections of meat. Sometimes the chicken is not the best in the burrito. But great chicken tostada. Also they have the best chips and salsa in San Jose. The green tomatillo salsa is my favorite. I also enjoy the cucumber and jalapeño mix. I have never waited more than ten minutes for anything here. Seating is limited but mostly do to go. Staff is efficient. The carnitas is superb. I have literally had everything on the menu. I am so grateful for this little place.

They close before 10, got here at 9:30 and they were mopping and unwilling to serve us. Don’t let them fool you.

Best $ 2.00 tacos ever and the burritos are huge, takes me 2 days to finish one. Love this place.

The El Pastor Burritos was so so. Seems very oily when you get to the bottom of the burritos. Their chips are kind of cold, but salsa was good.

My daughter got a bean and cheese burrito and ate about half of it. Was a pretty big«little burrito», she said it was spicy but she liked it. I got a regular chicken burrito, there wasn’t a whole lot to it and not very flavorful. There is jalapenos in it. I was like wow that was hot, oh no wonder why. I probably wouldn’t go back because I like Super Taqueria best. They have the best flavor.

Super little place tucked in a little strip mall near Capitol Expressway Auto Mall. I just happened across it because I’m having my car serviced, and was looking for somewhere within walking distance to get a late lunch. WOW, I’m so glad I came! Thanks to the other Unilocal reviewers, too. The green salsa is in fact awesome – right up there with my favorite small-town place in Texas. Do yourself a favor: try the stewed chicken on something. I’d been craving that delicious tender tomato-and-spices magic for years. Caveat about the carne asada and the tortas: The carne asada is cooked as large flat flank steaks, and they don’t chop it up as much as other places do, so it can be tough. But delicious! The torta was a hug half-loaf-sized monster, rather than a regular torta roll, but a lot more bread than meat… I would have been in love with it if it was the same insides on a regular size torta bun. Rice was *great*, very flavorful. Beans were on the salty side for me, but I’ve found that at lots of places. Chips are the heavy, thick kind. Corn tortillas the most tender and delicious you’ll find anywhere. I *highly* recommend this place for a quick, casual meal. One last«excellent» for the staff — friendly, accommodating, wonderful people!

OMG! what can i say? I started going to La Mordida when it was in downtown san jose and i haven’t stopped going there. when i heard they were closing the DT location i was like«WHAT?» «HUH?» «WHYYYYYYY?» — got myself together because they had a 2nd location 1 mile from my home… how lucky am i? straight up so lucky! Love the people — service is great… wish i knew how to speak spanish… not many white girls go in and order everything off the menu… lolol…food is SPECTACULAR and the kitchen is spotless. go to la mordida… you won’t be disappointed. i think i’m hungry… feeling like authentic mexican food.

amazing! We always come here for the mi cheladas and the home made tortillas. Unfortunately the tortillas are only made until 2pm but it’s so worth it. The warache is amazing and the food is so fresh. The cooks know what they’re doing!

I was sadly disappointed here. I had a three taco plate. The carne asada tasted good but quite a few bits of gristle in it, the carnitas was very dry and the pollo just nothing special. The beans were okay but the rice was very dried out.

This is our regular lunch spot due to it being in walking distance. My usual is the carne asada tacos with cilantro, onion, and salsa. It is simple but delicious. They don’t skimp on the meat and the salsa is very flavorful without too much spice. Free chips with every order that are so fresh they are sometimes too hot to eat right away! Perfect for me. I have also had their nachos. These can easily be shared with 2 – 3 people. The portion is huge! The salsa is a little too spicy for my taste so I get it on the side. This place also has a big salsa bar with lots of different flavors as well as peppers, limes, lemons, radishes, ect. They take credit card which is crucial for me because I hate to carry cash so I’ll continue to come here!
